Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Haha, serves you right.

I'd NEVER, EVER walk out early except if I was in danger of being attacked or something stupid like that.

Haven't all those years of supporting United taught you ANYTHING?

Obviously not. What a waste of a ticket.

Whoa whoa I've only done it 3 times in my lifetime and I've followed United for 20 years of my life and been going to matches for 15 years , today was the 3rd time. The other two was for job commitments as I was starting work at 5.30pm on which both games kicked off at 3pm.

And Jumbo how can it be a waste of a Ticket? I'd rather attend the game rather than letting the seat being empty! as I've obviously paid for my season ticket. I've always stayed until full-time! My money has paid for the seat, I attended the game, just obviously gutted I missed the goal, but in a game like that where Rio gave the ball away which lead to Citeh's equaliser! I was literally fuming as we were heading for a 3-2 win!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Firstly,Eid Mubarak to all the Muslims in this forum!

To watch a football match like this certainly put the icing on the cake at the end of a fantastic day.

We were collectively poor in defence too and this should be improved.

Ben Foster is at fault for the two goals they scored.Trying to dribble the ball with his right foot is just daft and he should have just stood his ground to cover his angles for the 3rd.Poor decisions and it nearly cost us the game.

Rio should be the most relieved man after Foster for that mistake he made but Sir Alex was fully behind his man for stating that it has always been a collective thing for mistakes in his team.

Darren Fletcher. What a player he has become for us.3 back to back world class performances and probably more to come.First time he had scored 2 for us ever, both headers at it too. With Ando improving his game recently,it will be hard for Carrick or even Hargreaves to get back in the middle now.We got so many combinations of CMs in the team,it is just sick.

6 in 6 for Wazza too now isnt it? and bloody Mickey Owen will be in our good books from now onwards for that winner...would would have thought that an ex scouser could settle a manchester derby!?

Simply magic.

Made me laugh this.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Interesting Mark Hughes quote:

"Historically it has happened before. I was in teams here where we always had a little bit of benefit. I never felt it was an issue when we played here.

"But since I have left maybe I have changed my view on that.
I am not going to question anyone's integrity but I do not know where has got seven minutes from.

Interesting Mark Hughes quote:

who cares? read what manu fans have said. they said all that stoppage time came from Man city goal celebrations and the subs made.

Did u see what bellamy did to that fan?

Man city are quickly becoming the most hated club

Blackburn?

Anyone else at the game yesterday notice Tevez taking sooo long to walk back to his own half after their 3rd? Him trying to waste time backfired... Not to mention everytime a FK was given in extra time they always kicked the ball away...

I threw my back out on Saturday so shouldn't have gone yesterday. Though when Owen scored it was like I'd been to one of those kooky healers!
Paying for it today, but worth the agony!

:RSCARF:

Oh, for the umpteenth time, it's United, not fucking manu. How many more times?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bragging Rights secured, what a game!

just gutted I walked out before the Owen goal as I was fuming at Rio for giving the ball away and being at fault for Bellamy's goal which made it 3-3!

Haha thats unlucky mate!

What was it like walking away the hearing the cheering for Owens goal! ?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can anyone imagine what we'd be reading right now if Rooney (or last year, Ronaldo!?!?!?) had slapped a fan being restrained by two stewards?

Fortunately Bellamy is a c*nt, so I guess it's not news. Pretty tidy footballer though...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

When I see that, SAF kind put the ref off balance like to ignite Hughes . Talking about chasing the bone....

You'll also note that the time doesn't add up. As they posted the wrong times.. Also If time is to be added on for goal celebrations Owens added up to 1 min 16 seconds... After he scored the ref added ......16 seconds..

We'll never be able to accumulate enough hate to match the boring Top 4... Once it's broken i hope we bring Villa and Spuds with us too... Its time for change...

Um, the point of added time isn't to increase the time played because of a goal celebration, it's to make sure the goal celebration doesn't dig into the time that is supposed to be played.

So when Owen scored there were 16 seconds left in the match (give or take). Then they celebrated for a minute, then kick off, there are STILL 16 seconds left in the match.

It's really not hard.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Anyone noticed Bellendmy doing aeroplane gestures after he scored his second?

:-) You've not understood or are not reading right.... Doesn't surprise me in this thread though :-)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Re: Bellamy - I dont think it was meant like that, apparently he always celebrates like that?

And it's nice to see someone from City showing some objectivity and not making excuses about this.

Lescott has said it was their own fault and the defending was poor. Fair play to the lad.

Sigh, let me try an illustration:

Ref looks down at his watch as Rooney takes the free kick, at say 95:00, and decides to play for one more minute (ie he'll blow around 96:00 if the ball is in play).

Play then goes on for about 45 seconds, to 95:45, when Owen scores. At this point, the ref has let 45 seconds of the remaining 60 seonds be played. So there are 15 seconds left in the match.

Owen, Rooney and the team run circles around the stadium for the next half an hour, pausing to briefly have a spot of tea.

The match then resumes at 125:45. There are STILL only 15 seconds left, so he blows at 126:00.

The time spent celebrating goals/making substitutions is not designed to make games 90 minutes + time celebrating/substituting etc. It is designed to keep the time playing football at 90 minutes.

Does that make sense?

You're probably right but it wouldn't surprise me knowing him.
City can blame the referee all they want, what killed them is their inability to retain the ball or to properly clear it.ffs when they scored their 3rd they should have tried to keep that lead and not complain like pussies. As if the "bonus" minute prevented them from playing, Mark Hugues great captain and player for the player but what an idiot and hypocrite he's become

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

the arrogance of the man, did you see that?! BEYOND THE PALE. He shows no respect for a great manager....

and that was to a former United legend. Not a fat northern twat who thinks hes god because he got Bolton to 5th playing hoof ball football.
