Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Exactly. I can go on all day about petty little things like extra time, dives and "goals that never crossed the line" that our rivals have benefitted from but these things even themselves out.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Face it guys, would you be complaining if City were the ones who had got the injury time winner?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know it won't stop the papers *spit* tomorrow, but this sums up what I think (and that we were lucky):

"Bellamy scores at 89:55, after the four minutes were signalled. Play wasn't restarted until 91:01 (1:06 time wasted). We won a corner, Anderson was subebd for Carrick (30 seconds). That gives us a total of 1:36 over the original four, and Owen scored at 95:28 (ie 8 seconds short of this)"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Just got back.

Not had as much fun at a game in ages:

Oh and nicked from elsewhere:

Minimum of 4 minutes added time was indicated by the 4th offical as Bellamy celebrated.

89'55" Bellamy scores. Spends 85 secs larging it in front of the fans, doing his aeroplane taunts and fannying about getting back in his own half.

91'20" Game restarts. No added time has yet been played.

92'30" Sub. Only 1 minute 10 added time played.

93'00" Game restarts.

95'30" Mickey bloody Owen scores. 3'40" added time played

96'20" Game restarts. 20 secs added time left.

96'40" 4 mins up - Full Time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Minor issue - I was watching this game from abroad and we get John Champion and David Pleat as commentary. Could David"I am famous for a sillier dance than Fergie and never won very much" Pleat be further up Utd's arse? He must be on free prawn sarnies.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Just watched Owen's winner again (about 15 times ) and as good as the pass was from Giggs, City's marking was absolutely terrible, as it was on all of our goals.

Toure was playing Owen on by a yard and he was the only one that far back and Richards was so far out of position it was untrue! Then he tried to blame SWP for not getting back!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

how many people complained about the 8 minutes Chelsea got against Stoke last week (was it last week?)

I remember myself complaining about the first match of the season and them getting 5 or 6 min of injurytime with nothing happening in the match. I will continue to do so till Liverpool will inevitably get an extra couple of min. when they are down or drawing. :D

@ Jumbo,

From the games Ive seen Mancity have been poor defensively and Im sure with the right tactical set-up you can nullify their attackers. A bit like Newcastle really. Fergie showed Hughes isn't up to it with adding Valencia in the 2nd half, I don't consider him a player to be able to effect the match like he did without the help of poor tactics. Putting Ireland in there made their CM weak whilst nullifying Ireland at the same time. I mean even his own players were visually telling him to change it back!

When the sun stops shining and their top players need to go off for internationals/Africa Cup of Nations I expect them to drop back and fight for 5th or so. I mean Ade has run as much in this seasons games as he did the whole of last season for Arsenal, it's new signing boost that will quickly die down and the ego's will start to pop up.

It isn't bebo, because these things even themselves out over the course of a season, how many people complained about the 8 minutes Chelsea got against Stoke last week (was it last week?)

well stoke fans complained, arsenal fans, spurs fans, pool fans and you lot too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

WHAT A GAME!?! "Football bloody hell eh"

From the moment it kicked off it had a buzz around the place and looked like it would be a open game (didn't expect that though). Rooney continue's his Ronaldo impersonation of Scoring and not doing much else but this will get him the praise he deserves, Was a nice finish and if he continues this form he'll be fighting for the top awards with Ronnie and Messi.

Berbatov...I feel for the lad but he reminds me of a flashy player with little end product at times. He did a few flicks and tricks for 60 minutes, then had 3 chances to score and didn't. gets subbed for Michael Owen and...(you know the rest)

What the fuck is up with the defence? Vidic and Rio looking a bit sloppy lately along with just shoddy moments, Made City look much better than they were.

Fletcher = World Class. The sooner this is universally accepted the better, the lad is just a beast lately, gets stuck in well and can run a midfield.

Giggs was fucking immense today and continues to roll back the years and is rightfully picked often by SAF.

I watched this match with a load of relatives who are also United fans and I haven't seen us lose it this much since Ole put that one away :DD

Eid Mubarek Abou and all ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Maybe the absence of VDS might have something to do with the bad defence. Would be a shame if thats the case cuz this might be his last year with us.

Well, that`s it...You won and can`t expect the world here to feel your same sentiments .It`s almost like saying Everyone must agree or fuck off we deserve the win and the extra, extra and extra time too! because it will even itself out maybe in the carling cup or next season maybe... or in a friendly.

Each team will get their debate accordingly and imo I think City was due a lost whether it`s unlucky or not well at OT. They won`t be humble by this defeat. A scouser scoring must be a great lift to beat somewhat of Manchester fans jking! ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Because they think he's a horrible money grabbing cunt and they were acting like an idiot themselves?

Why the hell do you think jonney?

Same reason one of your fans through a stool at Adebayor.
difference is that Adebeyor gloated and celebrated infront of rival fans whilst tevez was simply walking off the fucking pitch!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah thats right... Jonney as you cant shut up about Adebayor and any vaguely similar subject I've personally tracked down the guy who threw the stuff at Tevez and cleared it up for you..

Basically, he over heard someone say 'you wouldnt like me when im angry' turned round saw Tevez on the pitch and thought he was the Incredible Hulk so did all he could to deter him.

Simple case of mistaken identity.

Easy mistake to make.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bragging Rights secured, what a game!

just gutted I walked out before the Owen goal as I was fuming at Rio for giving the ball away and being at fault for Bellamy's goal which made it 3-3!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Only dickheads leave early.

Meh,I'd never been so frigging angry, considering we were literally on our way to a 3-2 win in a sense.

I've learnt my lesson now, thou shalt not leave until the final whistle has been blown.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Haha, serves you right.

I'd NEVER, EVER walk out early except if I was in danger of being attacked or something stupid like that.

Haven't all those years of supporting United taught you ANYTHING?

Obviously not. What a waste of a ticket.

Whoa whoa I've only done it 3 times in my lifetime and I've followed United for 20 years of my life and been going to matches for 15 years , today was the 3rd time. The other two was for job commitments as I was starting work at 5.30pm on which both games kicked off at 3pm.

And Jumbo how can it be a waste of a Ticket? I'd rather attend the game rather than letting the seat being empty! as I've obviously paid for my season ticket. I've always stayed until full-time! My money has paid for the seat, I attended the game, just obviously gutted I missed the goal, but in a game like that where Rio gave the ball away which lead to Citeh's equaliser! I was literally fuming as we were heading for a 3-2 win!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Firstly,Eid Mubarak to all the Muslims in this forum!

To watch a football match like this certainly put the icing on the cake at the end of a fantastic day.

We were collectively poor in defence too and this should be improved.

Ben Foster is at fault for the two goals they scored.Trying to dribble the ball with his right foot is just daft and he should have just stood his ground to cover his angles for the 3rd.Poor decisions and it nearly cost us the game.

Rio should be the most relieved man after Foster for that mistake he made but Sir Alex was fully behind his man for stating that it has always been a collective thing for mistakes in his team.

Darren Fletcher. What a player he has become for us.3 back to back world class performances and probably more to come.First time he had scored 2 for us ever, both headers at it too. With Ando improving his game recently,it will be hard for Carrick or even Hargreaves to get back in the middle now.We got so many combinations of CMs in the team,it is just sick.

6 in 6 for Wazza too now isnt it? and bloody Mickey Owen will be in our good books from now onwards for that winner...would would have thought that an ex scouser could settle a manchester derby!?

Simply magic.
