Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

great performance. i am upset with the result but manu was very very lucky.

Arsenals back for never put a foot wrong while we was ahead and our midfield and attacking play troubled united. it took a brilliant save and the bar to save united bacon.

Diaby? stil not sure why his playing but wenger MUST see somethin in training for him to start. i feel sorry for the lad on his own goal. he did well to pick himself up and trouble united. its a shame his finishing was awful.

If arsenal keep putting in a similar performance every week until may, dont be surprised if we are still in it for the title. From what i can see, this was a flukey loss on arsenals part.

a few inches here and there and arsenal would have been 3 goals up but like people say, football can be crual.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We weren't anywhere near our best today, Fletcher is most definitely our best Centre Mid. Good news on Hargo back next month cause Fletcher won't be able to play in every game. Giggs and Carrick were below par but the former created both goals.

Berbatov probably should have started but I do think we'll stick with this formation in Europe. That Rooney diving header is similar to what Moneybags Tevez did against City last season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If we had to go 4-3-3 (was really 4-5-1 for be honest), we should have stuck Berba up front and put Rooney wide right with Nani on the left.
The only reason that'll never happen is cuz I'm sure Sir Alex must have promised Rooney he'll never play wide again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That was one crazy game but everything went to our favour.

I dont even know where to start about Darren Fletcher. He has become an important player for us,excelling in big games.Too bad he got robbed of the MOTM by Rooney. He is a "Man United through and through" material now.

Like many of us,I was shocked to see Giggs starting upfront with Rooney from the start when we have two other natural forwards stuck on the bench.

We got the result nonetheless and that is the utmost important after watching the sods got away with 3 points too against Bolton.

Another irritating international break before we face Spurs at WHL.

ROSSOBIANCHI!!!!!

Talking absolute bullshit!! I like the guy but he sometimes goes off on some stupid rants!.

Anti football??? Eduardo dive against Celtic, Eboue dive near Evra, the worst tackle in the game was chuffing Song on Valencia! open your eyes you stupid blind cunt!

PS didnt Arsenal have more yellow cards!?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Maybe you should read the article!? Its not about this and that foul, its about some players ability to rack up a good amount of fouls without getting a yellow card for the effort.

I think Fletcher committed something around 4 or 5 fouls during the whole match (not 20, thanks for the hyperbole Wenger). A combative midfielder should be more then entitled to foul that many times in 90 minutes. And if none of them are 'yellow-card' offenses, then it shouldn't be a yellow.

Whereas a single deliberate, yellow-card offense shoudl be (see Gallas and Rooney in that match).

Wenger's just having a bitch. Happens. Strange to pick on United though, compared to the rest of the prem we're angels when it comes to fouling.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

hes just pissed that he lost, why should our midfield let Arsenal play there normal football, thats why they win against lower teams because they dont have players Like Fletch that break up there flow

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hargreaves selected in the CL squad. Obviously the manager has more faith in him than we do.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hope so. Really looking forward to him returning, actually will be like a new signing in the midfield.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

actually will be like a new signing in the midfield.
 I think I remember people saying that last year too.
But yeah, I agree. It would be like a fresh new face in the squad. And he's definately someone we need right now.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Definitely, Hard to rely on Fletcher to play the "breakup" player every game but when Hargreaves (hopefully) returns one of the two will play every match.

Am I being naive but for some reason I expect next summer to be hectic for us. Can see 2-3 leaving or retiring with the Ronaldo money being spend with the market being better.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If you're talking about some of Fergie's fledglings hanging up their boots then I probably wouldnt worry so much. I'm sure they have enough class to stick around a couple more years while we're in our transition period.
The only person I'd worry about leaving is Vidic (to Barca) if the rumours are true. After seeing Ronaldo leave so suddenly, I'm willing to believe any story has some truth in it.

Other than that, I can only see someone leaving if they're just plain shite and to be honest, I cant really see anyone in our squad that can be labelled as shit.

even after two good seasons he still doeasnt inspire confidence...

dont know what fltech has to do....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

After whats been done to Chelski...FIFA has next targeted us for sanctions concerning the transfer of the french starlet Paul Pogba...Our lawboys however has challenged them stating that what we done was legal and according to UEFA's guidelines. This could get very interesting.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon could be sent back to Old Trafford just two months into a year-long loan to Portuguese side Braga. Coach Domingos Paciencia was so unimpressed with his only appearance that he substituted him after 34 minutes.

 Harsh?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The accounts for the thicket of Manchester United companies, which begin with a football club based in Stretford and ultimately lodge the Glazer family's ownership in the low tax, Las Vegas, roulette wheel US State of Nevada, were most recently filed for the year to June 2008. They showed the club £699m in debt to banks and hedge funds, three years after the Glazers borrowed £525m to finance their 2005 takeover. The interest payable in just three years after that, by a club always previously debt-free, has been a barely believable £263m.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wouldn't be suprised, Even then its only a little chunk of the debt.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wonder when United will finally be able to pay off all these debts. I still find it unbelievable that someone is able to borrow more than £500 million to buy one of the biggest club in the world.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'd be surprised if we ever can under the Glazers' ownership.

We need some Middle Eastern Sheikhs to take a liking to us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

But we cost too much to buy. Its a lot cheaper to buy a small club and spend the rest of the money buying top quality players. Its probably cheaper to buy two clubs and buy quality players for each.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I hope a rich Manchester United fan buys the club, clears the debt and lets us run like a normal club.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

 I've always thought for years that if I ever had that kind of money, buying our club back would be the first thing I'd do.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

A legend in my books has decided to hang up his boots. To think of it..he has almost everything a classic CF should have.Likes to drop deep, great with his head, great shot with both feet, clinical finishing, has both flair and vision.Vastly underrated but enjoyed huge success with us for 4 season.Thank You Yorkie.

Dwight Yorke.
