Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He'll get his chance in the Carling Cup along with our hopeful "Golden Generation Mk2"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

CSKA Moscow, Besiktas and Wolfsburg hmmm I like the look of that stage, however I think Wolfsburg are the dark horses!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Gutted, Wanted Real but we should qualify as group winners from that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Look at all of you being all respectful and everything. Lets be honest, we're gonna twat all of 'em. ;)

I'd have that attitude if we had Ronaldo in the team, now with this team I'm not so sure...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Make your mind up you said you liked the sound of it before.

I do but I'm playing it cautious and giving respect to the teams especially Wolfsburg, I mean how the fuck do the German Champions end up in Pot 4 of the CL draw? Whereas Rune is basically coming over all saying ah its fucking easy, we'll beat them and I'll book my flights n hotel to Madrid next year.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Because they haven't played in Europe in the past 5 years so they've got low points, that's why all the English teams were top seeds and Rangers were second seeds for example and Milan were 1st seeds rather than Inter and Sevilla rather than Real Madrid as they have all done well in Europe recently.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

 I was just playin', I know there are no easy games in this competition.
To be honest, even then our biggest problem will be complacency. And the other worry will be that our opposition have enough quality to take that and use it to their advantage.
But on our day (it doesnt even have to be our best day), we should be beating all 3 teams comfortably.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Goals. I know! I know! We just scored 5 the other day but in these type of games its going to be even tighter. When we had Ronaldo in the side we got a fair few 1-0 (or 2-0 after the breakthrough) in Europe that was down to that extra bit of magic/fire power Ronaldo brought. Im confident our defence can keep anyone out but we'll need to find that spark from somewhere else.

EDIT: Ljajic played for Partizan last night in the 2nd leg of their Europa Cup game, They won 2-0 . Heres his performance from the first leg first half

2nd Half

Heres another I thought I'd just randomly throw in

YouTube - Adem Ljajić vs Sevojno.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

After watching those two videos of Adem Ljajic...Here are the things,I've noticed.

1.Good dribbler but lacked composure.
2.Takes setpieces for Partizan, obviously he is good at it for someone so young.
3.End product was somewhat lacking but that will improve.
4.His dribbles reminds me of Kaka and Ronaldo at the same time.
5.He switches flanks a lot too but seems more right footed.

Thats all...he could be useful for us but we currently have Nani,Park and Tosic whom can do all thats mentioned above.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

But Ljajic is 17, 5 years younger than Nani. If he can do what some of those player you mentioned can do, I'm sure he'll eventually be a lot better by the time he reaches 22. And even then he's still about 7 years off his peak.

Exactly, for a 17 year old he looks very promising, I can see a few years of moans and groans along with a moment of genius but I really think hes a star in the making.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I really don't see him being that promising, he just looks like your average 17 year old.

Or maybe I'm just comparing him to Ronnie who tore us apart at near enough the same age.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah he seems to run into trouble alot and misplace easy passes but obviously he's only young, the second half performance was better than the first too, he was doing the simple stuff better.

The little flick over the guys head at the touchline in the first half was class :APPLAUD:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can't judge a player til he's with us. With him, Hargreaves and that Norwegian fella all likely to 'arrive' in January, will be a packed reserve team for a while!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

To be fair Ronaldo's passing was just as bad when he first arrived, He's 6'0 and only 17 so He'll be fairly big lad like Ronaldo. His dribbling ability probably not on that level but Ronaldo's dribbling at 17 probably was better than it is now by a fair distance. He may not be as flashy as a young Ronaldo but I do think he's got the potential to be a top player for us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

For fucks sake!

What is Fergie playing at!?

Someone tell him going like for like doesn't fucking work, especially if you have to play Giggs!

(this post came just after the goal).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You'd expect Giggs to be caught out and slow because he's a pensioner, but Carrick has been lax and lazy this season, and for some portions of last as well, he needs to perk himself up a bit and take a leaf out of Fletch's book.

Also Fletch is damn lucky cause that was a penalty, no doubt about it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

" 1st brown paper bag moment of the season.
ManU Mafia "

Anyhoo

Arsenal fans tell me about RVP's performance

The argument for Ade's sale was based on this game last season

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Not sure how we won that to be honest, we weren't even that much better in the second half.

Berbatov should be shot for that miss near the end, a three year old would've tucked that away (at the very least Rooney or Owen would've surely made a better job of it).

Thankfully the game livened up in the second half because apart from Arshavin's goal there was nothing at all.

And Wenger at the end was just hilarious.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We were far from our best.

Berba and Nani should have wrapped up the game.

Foster should have done better with Arshavin's strike.

WTF was Diaby thinking?

Rooney was VERY lucky at the end, gave away possession and they scored an offside goal.

And Wenger , what was the point of sending him off?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

you should see the Idiots on the EA forums trying to prove Wazza dived, good game anyway

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

No way did Rooney dive, but it probably wasn't a penalty anyway. I think you should have to be able to reach the ball you've touched on - his was already in row z of the stretford end when the contact was made.

I'll take the win, but please God Fergie - if Nani or Berbatov were playing as poorly as Giggs they'd be hauled off at half time - but he managed to give away possession for almost the full 90. I really think Fergie has lost his ruthlessness when it comes to Giggsy. He hurt us today, and no one should be above the team. LEgend, but not when he's playing like that.
