Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge came out today saying that we have officially made a bid for Franck Ribery...dont know how true this is but it can only be good news for us.Ribery should keep in mind that we have a starting shirt and starting berth for him at Old Trafford...cannot guarantee him that with the other clubs mentioned,Chelsea,Barca and Real.

We have officially moving in for the young brasilian starlet Douglas Costa.I am very excitied about this one as the kid looks the business in the short clips I've seen on youtube.

Just read a piece of news online...Arjen Robben is available for transfer.
We should get him.He was ready to sign for us back then before Chelsea showed their dirty russian money and he signed for them.

Get him Sir Alex.Please.

Don't want Robben anywhere near OT. Had his chance to sign for us said and said no, injury prone aswell.

I would love to see us sign Ribery but if we don't im not to fussed.

I think he was young that time and followed the money instead of the heart.A smashing player that could change a game on his own,kindalike Ronaldo.

He has proved his fitness well this season with Real and should only get better with our fitness regime.

I would sign him without a doubt.

I hope United don't spend all the money they got from Ronaldo just to get Ribery. He's a great player, but they shouldn't buy him at an inflated price just because Madrid payed £130 million for two players.

I'm not sure he's too fond of England as well.

We should have taken two out of either Robben, Sneijder and Huntelaar in an exchange + cash deal with Real Madrid. An opportunity missed i think considering how badly they wanted Ronaldo.

@ Knh4 - I absolutely agree. I wanted Robben and either Hunter/RVN as a third choice striker. That would have been a good deal, imo.

Robben is a supremely talented footballer, if he can stay fit. That's a big if :(

Same for Milan. Should've snapped up Diarra, Huntellar or Marcelo but it seems Real aren't selling. Still, £60/70m will be good for paying off debts.

I wouldn't mind. The squad is good enough as it is. But only if we manage to sign Tevez, otherwise I'd like United to get another striker.

We need atleast one top quality player who can create chances. That'll have to be either a winger or an attacking midfielder like either Ronaldo or Anderson.
If I'm being realistic, I can settle for Ribery and Tevez.

we don't really need to buy buy buy, ok selling ronaldo is a real bummer and all but we got players coming through, we also have adem Ljajic coming in who looks promising, so even if we don't sign anyone i'm not to fussed, 80+ mill up for us :)

I can't see us signing Tevez at all or Ribery for that matter. Valencia in for Ronaldo and Macheda and Welbeck to be 3rd and 4th strikers? We'll see.

If we lose both Ronaldo and Tevez and only bring in Valencia, I'll honestly be surprised if we win anything this season. Maybe Carling and FA Cup but we'll have no chance with the league, especially when everyone else is still spending and with the league getting tougher every year as a whole.

I read an article about Gigi Rossi today in my local newspaper.He is making it big with the two superb goals he scored against his native USA in the Confed Cup.The article pointed out that he is a player who plays a lot like Leo Messi,albeit less skillful but just as probing both on the right,left or centre.Scores goals with both feet with natural predatory instincts.Villareal fans are all saying Rossi is the real deal.He is ready for the Premiership now.Sir Alex should activate that buy-back clause he so shrewdly included in that transfer deal.That shows how much he believes in what the kid has because its never been done before to any of his starlets.

Bring Back Gigi Rossi to be our 3rd/4th Forward.

I thought about Rossi too, especially after the two goals he just scored for Italy. But I think we shouldnt think about him until after the World Cup. His goal is clearly to make the first team for his national side during the competition so we should see how well he does before coming back to sign him.
If we get him now, I can imagine him not doing as well as expected and then we'll be looking to loan him out again or something.

Lavezzi's not top quality, he's good but not good enough.

But i don't think Valencia's that good either, he's very inconsistent.

(ps how can you support Milan and Man Utd at the same time?)

well I'm assuming its just like any other normal person.

You have your home team or your main team to support, and then an international team that you're fond of for any number of reasons.

My home team is United, who I'd support through thick and thin, and my international team is Barca, not because they're successful, but simply because my first ever time abroad, I got a Barca kit from a market, I was 6 at the time, it had Ronaldo on the back, and I've liked them ever since.

You've really gotta get this chip off your shoulder mate.

I wasn't having a go, i just can't understand how anyone can support two top teams from different countries.

I support Liverpool, they are my club, i don't feel the same pride, love or anything else for another club and i don't see how i could. I can't see how you can be 100% passionate about two clubs, especially two top clubs from different countries who are essentially rivals.

I can understand people who say they support one team but like seeing a certain foreign team win (i.e. I have a mate who likes Barca's style of play so enjoys watching them, he doesn't call himself a Barca fan though, he just likes their style) but i can't see how you could call them "we".

You'll notice i didn't accuse him of being a glory hunter or anything, i just asked a simple question. But of course there are a couple on here who will jump to argue and criticise me as soon as they read this or my previous post.

Yes i have slated glory hunters in the past, but for a very good reason, they ruin the atmosphere at the ground by sitting there silent reading their program and looking at the merchandise they just bought. I know full well there are Man Utd and Chelsea fans who feel the same way about these type of fans from abroad.

and tbh i loved Milan anly for 1 player and now he is no longer in the team, u can guess ?

For Lavezzi; he a good player, not top class but good enough, and when we bought CR7 or Nani where they Worl class ?

Valencia could help too!
at the end we cross fingers for Ribéry and Silva!

Thats where you're looking at it all wrong. Why do you have to be 100% passionate about a club to say you support them?
I'm 100% passionate about United so they're my club. But I'm personally also about, lets say 60% passionate about Milan, so wouldnt you still count that as supporting them?
United is still my main club but I enjoy watching Milan play (I'm not gonna bother going into reasons cuz thats irrelavant), so whenever I'm flicking through channels and see that Milan are playing, I'm gonna hope they win. I'm not gonna be upset if they lose in the way I would if it was United but a small part of me would still have some support for Milan. Of course if Milan played against United then its United all the way for me.
You dont have to be passionate about it to count yourself as a supporter. Its like watching a gameshow and hoping one of the contestants win the big prize at the end. You're gonna cheer a bit but not be passionate about it to the point where you'll be upset when they lose.

That's a different thing entirely though imo. I've often wanted other teams to win games (albeit usually because an ex-Liverpool player/manager is involved) i wouldn't call myself a fan. Right now i hope Tranmere do well because John Barnes has just taken the manager's job, i wouldn't call myself a Tranmere supporter though. Watching the odd game on the telly and thinking "i hope they win" doesn't make you a supporter imo.

Plus i notice you don't list "your teams" as United and Milan under your name, so you're coming at it differently i think.



Nick Cave has a good point, i can sometimes understand people who pick a foreign team to support, while it is still the act of a glory-hunter (it's rare they pick an unsuccessful team to support) i hate the English ones the most. "Oh i'm from Chester, i support Man Utd but i also support Chester City so you can't call me a glory hunter" What a terrible attitude, these people claim they follow their local side, but clearly they're more interested in clinging to a successful team from hundreds of miles away. :CURSE:

Interesting a lot of United fans have a fondness of Milan like myself :)) Forza Milan/Manchester :DD

I think your wrong Rune about us not being able to compete without Ronaldo or Tevez, The thing is people are looking at things the wrong way, We won't be playing like we have for the last 2 seasons which was to get every ounce of briliance out of Ronaldo. Wether this was to play Rooney wide or Berbatov deep it had to be done to get the best out of Ron.

Next season the team will have to be built around Rooney, he will be the one who will have people moved around so we can get the best out of him (I hope this is the case) by playing him behind Berbatov who will be pushed right uptop or a new CF. We were also pretty unbalanced side with Ronaldo by having to play Park on the other flank. We'll go back to a "basic" 4-4-2 with the wingers providing crosses.

I think the only worry I have is the number of goals, I doubt we'll miss Tevez in that department (he did get a few important ones though) as he only managed 3 or 4 in the league last season, Ronaldo's annual 30 + needs to be filled. I think Berbatov and Rooney can both get an extra 5-10 then they did the season before also Ronaldo's freekicks and Pens will be taken by someone else.

Im not to worried :))

I've always been a United fan, and for the last 3 years I've been a proud season ticket holder (for a year or 2 before that I bought tickets from the local supporters club, as my stepdad knows the people who run it).
It's great for when you're on holiday and you have people putting you down because you're not local to the team and they are (was abroad last year and had some gonk tell me & my stepdad that he was a true Red & we weren't just because he lived in Manchester. He soon shut up when he realised he'd never been to OT and we had been going for years).

Before I was lucky enough to get a season ticket, I had one for my 'second' team - Charlton. At the moment I'm in a position that I can afford to have season tickets for both, so as long as the home games don't clash I still go and watch them (if they do I let my mate use my Charlton one).

So for that reason I consider myself an avid fan of both teams, but United will always be my religion.

I had a friend who claimed he supported Liverpool & Kenny Daglish. It was funny how if Liverpool lost he only supported whatever team KD was at. I don't have much contact with them any more, and when I do it's never about football!

De Rossi = Class. Except that elbow in the world cup. Oh and the penalty miss at OT. Other than that, would be delighted.

However I understand he's Roma through and through, and will never leave. I respect that and hope we don't force the issue.
