Manchester United Thread

Ronaldo looks like he's being gang raped! :D

Especially the first one:

"Noooooo, not Rooney's grannie f#$king c#$k in my face"

With the rest of them going:

"Mouth OOOOOOOOOOpen"

That game nearly gave me cardiac arrest. We were down and out in the first half and not many teams could come back from 2 goals down by 45 minutes.Mind you, this Spurs team is respectably solid but we battered them nonetheless. The manner of our victory should give Arsene Wenger, something to think about for the midweek.Rampant, ruthless and rejuvenated...thats what we have to be right now.Bring on the Goons!!

Arsene Wenger will also be looking at how you've started conceding goals quite easily at OT as well ;)

Great comeback yesterday, very much like against Everton a couple of seasons back. For now and the end of the season id like to see a bit of a :
-----------VDS
--???---Rio----Vidic--Evra
-----Carrick--Giggs
-Ronaldo---Tevez----Rooney
-----------Berba

The attacking 4 yesterday were absolutely amazing easily the best attacking display of the season (Probably because they had to do something about being 2-0 down!) Rooney looked dangerous on the left side, Tevez and Berb got into some nice positions and brought players into the game well. Ronaldo looked pretty good too, its also great how these 4 players are so interchangeable.

Obviously Giggs wont be able to play all the games but he would get the nod infront of the likes of Scholes, Fletch and Anderson for me because he looked great against Portsmouth last week.

Right back is obviously the problem noone can seem to nail down the position and injuries dont help. Id possibly definatly think about getting a new one in the summer, Im not sure but I think possibly Glen Johnson would be a good addition for the position (I could be a rapper) but im not 100% sure on him.

i think we're fine for right backs, they're just all injured right now. i see rafael as the future and brown as the starting right back in our first choice 11. he had some huge performances for us last season, especially in the big games.

Yeah Brown's fine for another few years until Rafael learns to tackle and gets some positional sense. Other than Johnson there's probably not many other English right backs who are good enough for us and I don't even think Glen is anyway.

Glad that the fans got behind Berba yesterday.

his attacking play was excellent...

for all tevez energy, ability wise he is no where near berba and that spoke volumes yest...

I do want tevez to stay but its not the end of the world...

even if he goes to the scousers (LOL)

Sorry maybe it was a bit harsh. Yesterday's reaction really wound me up though, the ABU mentality from the media is ridiculous and we all know how most people just follow everything that the media say without thinking for themselves.

but thats one of the bonuses of being a Utd fan...

we dont have to share our success!

At the end of the game yesterday, it was announced that a mosaic will be in place at OT for the CL semi-final...

the "BELIVE" one at the barca game was good cos we had to win it to get to final...

the "more goals please" at the start of this season was feckin awful as it was just a marketing gimmick from nike..

and IMO has jinxed us this season!

so, any ideas/suggestions for weds?

i think we should have one thats represents our history with arsenal...

something simple..

"KEANE > VIEIRA"

When I think Man Utd vs Arsenal, some of the things that come to mind are Highbury, 4-1 and John O'Shea.

EDIT
4-2 sorry.

Was 4-2 Rune...But that chip from O'Shea was class! I hope we field the "Fantastic 4" from the off. Berba behind the front 3.

I think Fergie sees him as a super sub, kinda like Ole. He's done well in that role if you think about it grabbing some important goals for us. Sometimes when he starts he doesn't make such an impact. Throwing him on to chase and press tired defenders works a treat. I say start him on the bench then bring him on to complete the foursome and batter Arsenal's weakened defence in the second half. :D

Well a few people who went to the match told me that it was a very small minority of our fans booing him (still disgraceful)but mostly Spurs fans, not the otherway around as Setanta said it was.

Well done to Giggs a legend of the game and fully deserves the award. Also will probably make his 800th appearance for us against Arsenal on Wednesday :))

Deserves the award, honestly? Hasn't he made 12 starts in the league.

You do all realise the voting takes place early in the season?

He does deserve some sort of lifetime acheivement award, but player of THIS season? No, just no.

I found it disgusting how United seemed to dominate the award dispite loads of stand out performances from other players.

Alonso, Ireland, Jagielka, Hangerland?

lol such impartial words of wisdom...

from a plastic scouser..

Well Done Giggsy!

You think it's right for a player to win a Player Of The Year award despite only starting 12 games? If someone like Hyppia won it, would you not think it was a joke then?

I dont see why he dont deserve it

He put the final nail in the coffin against Wigan last season to win his 10th league title. He scored in the penalty shoot out against Chelsea to win the CL. He broke the appearance record and is in the line for his 800th appearance. When called upon this season he has put some sterling performances (Ran the show against Chelsea, Magic against West Ham just to name 2) On top of that he his a footballers footballer, every young player should look at Giggs as an icon and how to live their Footballing lives

Congratulations Ryan, you fully deserve it

You're talking about things which he did last season, this award is for being the best player this season. And for a player to get it who only made 12 starts is a bit odd I think.

I know but due to shit timing of the awards I beleive that players will take into account things that happend after the last time the award was given out. Why they dont do the awards when everything for the season has been sewn up is beyond me

Looks like we have found the way to play Berba,Tevez,Ronaldo and Rooney together.Personally I call it our 'Blitzkrieg'.I've analyze this formation a few times now and all four of them are playing in their natural position, except Rooney...then again,Rooney can play almost everywhere! When we are under pressure to score,I noticed we always play this way.

There will only be two natural central midfielders, like Carrick and Fletcher.Berba will drop deep almost like an attacking midfielder.Rooney will push onto the left side, almost left winger role.Ronaldo in his natural right winger role but will push forward like a striker to support.Tevez will play the lone striker and will harrass and pressure defenders with his bulldog like approach.

They will crowd the midfield without possesion which will make opposing teams to bypass passing through the middle, hence the long balls, which will be picked easily by Rio and Vida.Carrick and Fletch will only need to distribute forward to their front 4 and pick up scraps in the middle.

I think we start like this against Arsenal,we will stand a chance because it will cut out their slick passing in the middle or thru Fabregas.Start like this get a goal or two and then revert back to our normal 442.It should work when we have the right players.
