Manchester United Thread

Well, we've done exactly what was needed.

Not cocked up against a team from near the bottom, completely controlled the game, played some nice stuff, kept a clean sheet and all when Liverpool didn't win.

That'll do me.

I'm really pleased, that was a good team perfomance and the best we've played for quite a while. A few lads did really well and that was just the result we needed.

Portsmouth didnt just sit off the whole match, they did come at us a bit especially in the first half and I thought Crouch was excellent leading the line for them and when Nugent went off it limited their attacking.

I thought Anderson looked a lot better than he has done for a while in that more attacking role and it was great to see Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo interlinking and rotating around upfront.

Roll on Saturday and the Spuds.

lol this is funny. thanks.

These 3 look like great friends. It's also interesting to see how humble they are. They are huge stars but the house looks nothing special, they are just like any other tight group of friends, it's good to see vids like this from time to time to see what guys who we follow in the pitch are like off of it at times. I appreciate it.

PLF in the United thread?!?!? :CONFUSE:
Did you get lost? ;)

Never seen you post in here.

thanks for the post maru, great stuff--made me sentimental to see my boy ji with his buds haha

Lol no I'm not lost Rune :P and it's good to be back in touch with you again.

I usually just read these club threads sometimes and have actually found myself agreeing with you more often than I used to in the past but barely ever bother posting. This time I wanted to thank Marukomu for sharing that vid because I enjoyed it and it might help encourage rather than discourage future similar activity. :P

p.s. I've posted in here before. Very rarely but at least once I seem to remember I made a rather large post about how Fernando Torres was over-rated (at the time) and how his reputation exceeded what he's actually performed like on the pitch (at that time). This was when he was near his end with Atletico and not actually performing very well (missing sitters, even penalties) but raved about in the media especially the foreign ones like English one which didn't actually view his performances on a full 90 min weekly basis in La Liga and was raving about him mercilessly. At that time, he had not yet signed for Liverpool and some Man Utd fans were wanting their club to sign him, that's when I made that post.

Of course that is a loooong time ago and since then El Nino did move to EPL and Liverpool and has totally proven me wrong! :D

The boy who is incredibly talented but also what I call a 'confidence-player' similar to Berbatov or Gilardino in this respect, has made SUCH tremendous progress under Rafa Benitez that he is now one of if not the world's best striker in my eyes. And now of course I'm perfectly happy for media to be raving about him and getting all this praise and recognition because he has truly earned it over this and last season and deserves it. Hell, I'm a huge fan myself now.

The funniest thing is that they are from completely different upbringings and cultures, yet football bonds them together. :D

Yah very true.

They do have their commonalities as well however. 3 fairly short foreigners who struggle with the English language and had to transition to a new culture/league, club and team-mates where as others like O'Shea, Giggs, Scholes, Brown, Neville, etc already were pretty much at home. So if anything, the adaptation and 'fitting in' they had to do could be key reasons why these 3 would chill together and become great friends. From the looks of it, Evra's obviously been making heaps of progress with the language though.

it looks like they all speak spanish together, it was a very nice clip. tevez and park are two of my favourite united players, especially tevez ive been following his career for a number of years. i remember when he first signed for united he showed up at the airport with just him and his baby.

yo did you guys know pompey havent gotten a single point at old trafford since 1957? i know they were out of the premier league for a number of years but thats still a pretty crazy record.

That is a crazy record! Over half a century! But the question that comes to mind is, with them being in different division most of this time, how many times have they actually traveled to Old Trafford during this 52 year period? How many games?

p.s. Lol, I doubt Evra and Park can speak Spanish. Probably just a few words here and there, I thought Evra was joking about that.

That Park Ji Sung clip was very nice to see indeed.Who would have thought that those 3 were buddies? Sounds like they hang out together a lot too.Its always nice to see the bond between players off the pitch.More videos of this type please.

A very professional win at home for us.The only upset is that we should have scored more goals.Nice to see Carrick get a goal once in a while.A very good week for United with Pool sharing points with Arsenal while Chelsea did the same with Everton.A win at the weekend against the Spuds would top it off nicely.

A win against Spurs is a must really as we still have to play Cidy and Arsenal and could easily drop points in both those games.

What did Park burn his mouth on in that video? The candles?

Either way, really cool to see them just as natural friends, and if you've seen videos of Evra off the pitch before, then you'll see he's always been the joker.

Great stuff.

Good win last night, Really good performance which could have end 5 or 6-0 had the players finished the chances.

We seem to be back on track after a few bumpy games. :))

No doubt but maybe thats down to whatever Ronaldo touched would end up a goal. We shouldnt rely on him being on that form to put teams to the sword.

Oh dear, it's really boring now. Every second sentence seems to contradict the first whenever he says anything. "I only talk about my own team." followed by a comment about Ferguson/United.

I wish they'd both give it a rest.

Who cares? Rafa is a bit of a idiot which he's shown all season. As long as we win on Saturday and make it 6 clear theres not much Rafa and Liverpool can say or do.

Should be a tight game tommorow. Hopefully Berba can show Spurs (and everyone it seems whose doubting him) what he can do.

Line up will be interesting considering we have the the Champions League on Wednesday. I hope we look to win this one early allowing the likes of Ronaldo, Evra and Rooney some rest.

--------Van Der Sar-------------
Rafael--Ferdinand-Evans--Evra
Park---Carrick-Fletcher-Ronaldo-
--------Berbatov-Rooney-------

Probably our strongest line up except Vidic, He played the 120 against Everton and then again the full length v Pompey so I think SAF may drop him to the bench.

Bit rich coming from you, when your manager managed to turn a seemingly harmless gesture by Rafa into an act of contempt and arrogance ;)

Just watched that video, Evra seems like a funny guy  There was one bit where his laugh really reminded me of Eddie Murphy!

Seems like Tevez doesn't speak much English though?

they took that article off that you posted, rafas came out and said he was mis-quoted in the translation from spanish and its an old interview.

what Rafa actually said was "Ferguson can see we are a better team now..." Meaning Liverpool have improved to the point where we can now mount a realistic challenge.

whereas the British press twisted that into "Ferguson knows we are the better team" which clearly has a different meaning.

Yeah sounds like shit. Only quotes come from 'a source close to Kaka', which is basically bollocks.

I'd love it to be true though!

-------Rooney
Anderson Kaka Ronaldo
---Carrick Fletcher

I agree was a bit silly from SAF there was no need for it, Rafa just plain insane though with his "were not going to talk about United" and then starts talking about United.

:LMAO: I think Redcafe forum should get applause for this. Great stuff

Basically after the Zillion number of articles on Ronaldo's "Future" last summer, a few members of Redcafe decided to prove the papers are a load of shit and just made up bollocks.

They made up a article called "Kaka dreams of United" with fake quotes from Kaka talking about considering a move to United. They kept bumping the thread until last night it hit off when The Sun and Dailymails were running the story and had used the EXACT same fake quotes a poster had made up. Its even on Football Focus!

So basically a thread on Redcafe has started tones of "Kaka to United" rumours and the point of it was to show when the Ronaldo stories pop up again you shouldn't believe it as gospel.:APPLAUD:

Heres the Thread

PSmith made the article and Spoony posted it.
