Manchester United Thread

One thing that always seems constant when we go out, is that we're on Sky.

We were on it against Milan in 06/07 and we never seem to play as well as when we're on ITV.

Obviously which broadcaster we're beeing shown on doesn't really affect anything, but it always seems better with Tyldsley.

Not sure what to think tonight, I want another Roma match, but I doubt it'll happen, so who knows.

No chance mathero

Anyone know if there's been any trouble with the fans, only I saw some police and ambulances going towards OT on my way back from work.

I think the last time we went out on ITV was in 2001/02 against Leverkusen.

LMAO, that's because he's a manu fan and forever goes on about that night in Barcelona......and now Moscow :D

You're probably right :D

He's the only person I know that can link an early round FA Cup game to Barcelona in 99

Great guy for portraying emotion and making the game more dramatic though.

I'm getting the butterfly's ahead of tonight, seems like a massive hurdle to jump over to the next round. But then our best European nights are the ones that give you butterflys.

what are you talking about man? we played okay, scholes missed a few simple passes but other than that the whole team played ecently barring maybe berbatov. giggs was amazing tonight.

It wasn't just Scholes misplacing the passes, Carrick had a shocker as well I thought. Ronaldo was anonymous again until the goal, and a few runs in the last 20 minutes or so (I was shocked he was tracking back as well) and Giggs didn't really do much either.

We've been lucky that Inter are shit up front really.

No one really stood out today and we still got the job done with a little bit of luck. Kinda sums up our season compared to last year. We seem a lot more solid at the back but we arent the attacking threat we were last year IMO.

Lets see how well we do against Liverpool now.

He is though. We seem alot more vibrant and potentially more dangerous when Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo are the front three.
The big disappointment for me today was again Scholes. Dwells on the ball far too much and always seemed second best to get to every ball he challenges for. He is still good but should be used as a sub only.

what game were you guys watching? sorry guys but i completely disagree with everything you said there.

giggs played an amazing game today imo, he was running at defenders and setting shit up left and right. scholes missed like 4 passes and dwells on the ball one time and its "oh hes only good enough for a sub", what about the other 40 odd that were perfect? he wasnt great but he wasnt that bad you've gotta admit.

you have to remember carricks also playing with scholes so hes the defensive midfielder instead of having fletcher beside him, hes never going to play the same role that he has when hes had motm performances. he hardly missed a pass all game and was defensively sound, there was one moment he tried to split two defenders and lost the ball.. thats pretty much it but even then thats not his game so whatever.

ronaldo played well almost the entire game, okay there was one 15 or 20 minute spell near the beginning of the match where he was absent but thats pretty much it. he played much better than ibrahimovic who is supposed to be one of the best players in the world.

Yeah I really wanted Balotelli to actually get tackled once - so his rolling on the ground, petulance and sneering would be properly put in its place. When he kicked out Ronaldo's legs and then started having a go at him for diving - loved it. Ronnie just sitting there smiling up at him like yeah, what's the score beeeatttch.

Actually, I don't watch much Serie A, but that was a real feature of Inter in their home leg - kick the opposition player than deride him for diving. Is that the 'cool' thing to do now there?

Good game last night once, Vidic popped up to score that header it felt like Barcelona all over again.... Everything felt like it I had the Irish fans who were at Barcelona home game last season were sat in front of me and we went mad when Vida scored. However we were lucky not to concede a goal. Even though we did have some poor spells in the first half. Inter were just plain poor in the 2nd half and when Ronnie popped up with that sublime header, it was like a sucker punch for them.

I know Platini will be fixing it for us to recieve an English team however I wouldn't mind Porto or Bayern at this stage.

I think something should be done really though. 4 English teams in the last 8 again. Maybe they should stop the rule where teams from the same country can't meet in the group stages.

Agreed maybe make 4th placed teams if they reach the Group Stage, be able to face anyone? I mean Celtic even when they won the League were not in the same pot as Man United for the seedings yet therotically they are from the same country if you class it as UK rather than England, Scotland, Wales etc.

Was a good performance, We had a little spell in the end of the 1st half were we got sloppy but overall it was a solid performance, Giggs played well, Ronaldo had a good game and was probably our biggest threat and got his goal. Only performance which let me down was Berba but then he did get a knock in the warm up(should he have played?).

I think we'll get either Liverpool, Arsenal or Barcelona. Im pretty happy with any really, We won it last year and shouldnt be afraid of anyone. :))

Tevez will start on Saturday. Were going into Saturday with the feeling of "We dont need to win" but I hope the players dont out and go for Liverpool, I dont think their our direct challengers now anyway with Chelsea on level points but a win would end any Liverpool hope which is always a good thing :DD

We can afford to sit back and pick them off though. It's a must win for them unless they've already settled for second.

Mourinho apparently accused of punching a fan outside OT last night. Breaking news on Sky Sports News!

You should see how he celebrates in the league.... no respect at all for opponents or fans. He's a prick. Funny thing is, he's such a typical Inter player. He's got so much raw talent but I think he needs a proper mentor, and Zlatan is a very poor example of one.
