Manchester United Thread

I think this is partly our fault for not sorting this out a long time ago. Before the loan started, we should have fixed a price that we have to pay the moment the loan was over. Then we could have simply taken him or left him. But now his owners know we love him so he'll squeeze more money out of us.

I thought the fee was agreed for 30M with with the first 10 being given within 2 seasons, Carlos is staying and will also be a first team player

--------Rooney---------
----Tevez--Berbatov---
:))

Tomorrow i would like to see Ronaldo rested/benched. We should look to play with a 3 man central midfield(Fletcher/Anderson/Giggs) and a front 3 of Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov. Ronaldo's cut a frustrating figure these past couple of weeks and little rest shouldnt do him any harm.
By the way doesnt anyone think Anderson could be effective as left mid/winger. Surely with his pace and skill he could be effective.

I think West Ham are going to look to soak up pressure, and they have a pretty combative central midfield trio normally (Boa Morte, Bowyer and another) so I'd actually prefer a normal 442 to give us width. Which means that Ronaldo will probably play, hopefully with Nani on the other flank.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Tevez and Rooney up front as starters, as the next couple games are the last chance fergie will have to experiment with formations for a while. We're in pretty desperate need of a long run of wins, and having a settled squad normally helps.

Rumour is that Carrick is fit...

Not sure why you lot want Ronaldo rested? The quicker he hits form the better, "The Holy Trinity" also deserve a run of games imo.

Great assist by Berbatov. I think Ronaldo thinks so highly of himself that he'll only show proper joy when he scores from the midfield line or something.

He'll have to do a backflip blindfolded whilst rebounding the shot off our own crossbar before he show even a little bit of emotion.

I think Tevez is underrated by United fans. He works hard, plays consistently well and grabs important goals for us. He's quick, strong and tireless. He's got all the ingredients to become a great player for us for years to come.

Disagree with United fans underatting him, majority I know think he's brilliant and think Berba should be dropped...

Its tough for Carlitos at the moment, Rooney's on fire at the moment and Berba's showing signs of why we bought him aswell. Unless we play all 3 he's going to have to play second fiddle for the moment.

There's still a long way to go in the season and you can bet your life that we'll reach a point when Tevez's patience will pay off. It's pretty obvious that we can't play Rooney and Berba every game especially since they're both internationals.

I would still take Rossi back over Tevez...

if you actually watched rossi play lateley you wouldnt be saying that, he creates chances, but misses %90 of them. I had the chance to see him in spain a few weeks ago vs espanol, and he was able to put himself in good positions to score, but he cant score.... tevez is much more polished, i mean are people forgetting the incredible link up play him and rooney had last year

So you're saying all Tevez has is a bit of technique and good finishing?

:P

Movement. INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE movement. Best off the ball movement I've seen since Crespo (though Crespo did work more off the shoulder rather than between the lines).

Speaking of the Little Argentinian...He has come out today pledging his loyalty and wants to stay with us.Good on him, hope he gets a goal or two today against Hull.

The ref has done all he can to make thi close...writing at 4-3. Every single 50/50 gone against us, and Turne,r ona yellow deliberately took down Carrick when through on goal, but cause he has no balls no second yellow, could have been a straihgt red!

That shouldn't have been so difficult. Lazy, lazy second half. Had chances to kill the game (thougha 3 goal lead should do that) but a combination of great finishing/taking chances from Hull and sloppy play...scary stuff. I can almost guarantee if the penalty had been Ronaldo running with someone at us up 4-2 ref wouldn't have given it. I was appalled by his display. He better make a note of how Turner's challenge on Carrick didnt' warrant a yellow card, and the number of lite touches giving free kicks in the second half...he clearly felt no pressure at giving all the fouls in the world for Hull at 4-1.

Sorry to rant, but watching with an ex-referee who's just baffled - always be fair, so you can be harsh or let play go, but you can't do one to one team and one to the other.
