Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Who shot Ballack?

You could tell he wanted to win so bad, he was almost trying too hard throughout the game, he had the most shots out of both teams I think and wasted most of them. I think he thought after missing out with Leverkusen, he may never get another chance to win it, but it got to him and in the end hindered his performance.

Nice pics Hawkster :DD

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

:DD Brilliant stuff, when JT missed it was brilliant just like 9 nears ago "NAME ON THE TROPHY" came to mind. Ballack did ok he didnt have the best of games but neither did alot of players.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Sad But True.

My local paper today wrote an article about Sir Alex's contraversial ommission of Park Ji Sung from the team.

His decision was ruthless as Park should have at least started on the bench.

Park was instrumental at the later part of this double championship winning season.

Out of 22 starts with Park in the team,United have won 21 games.

Its been reported that his parents flew out to Moscow, believing they would catch their son,as the first Asian to start in a Champions League final.

They were gravely disappointed as 1 hour before the kickoff and without a relavant reason,Park was told that he will not be included in the team.

He took it like a true pro that he is and was truely disappointed but stayed reserved about it.

After the finals,he was interviewed and said that he was satisfied with his ommission largely because his team was victorious.

Thats the measure of this man.Below is the only pic snapped showing the lads handing the cup to the dimunitive Korean.

Pictures paint a thousand words but this one paints a little bit more than just that.

Park Ji Sung is now back in his native Seoul and will not return with the team for at least 3 months as he will be chasing his World Cup qualifications and Olympic glory with South Korea.

he had a better run in the league than most players tho....

SAF's friday press conference was quality, he rightly laid into real madrid...

but most importantly talked up carlos quieroz as his future successor...

Park should have made the bench at least with the game heading into ET his work-rate and speed would have unsettled Chelsea. That was one of the biggest surprises which ranks alongside with Anelka coming on over Sheva...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Word on the street has it that we have made a sweet deal for Micah Richards.Transfer seems impossible but these days, those kind of transfers are gone.I can understand why he would want to come over to us as the situation at Citeh isnt really clear now.A white-wash of players is expected,a new manager to come in,dodgy background management, perennial underachieving club etc...number 12 is waiting for him at Old Trafford.

;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

That would be brilliant, but I thought he supported Arsenal?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

John Terry supported United, didn't stop him giving everything at Chelsea.

I can see Anderson getting a few next season.

Spectacular goals to make it for the spectacularly shit misses this year

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

Fuck Henry - he can't handle having better players around him as he's proved at Barcelona.

I love this time of season - all the speculation talk is hilarious.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

What's nice about the Henry story is we didn't anounce it so Chelsea could get in before us. Semms like we're doing the real deals behind closed doors these days.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

3 more years for Fergie. I guess he has all planned up to break the Scouser record for both CL and EPL.

Yawn, Yawn, Yawn! where do you come up with this stuff, word on the street....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!

He said he wouldn't do it again but he has. SAF today announced he will retire within the next 3 years. hopefully this wont unsettle some of our players etc.

Errr...no. His 'failiure' was more to do with the fact that he suffered repetitive back injuries, was in a team of individuals and under a manager who played him wide left most of the time, which is stupid because the guy is getting older, losing his legs and has to do more tracking back than he did in his prime at Arsenal.

Yeah, i dont think so it will affect any player. Its not unexpected or something. We know hes going to retire in few years. Infact he did a good thing by telling now that he would retire in few years, so that players would not be surprised by a sudden shock or something. The players know it and they know that Fergie would put someone good one to replace them.

But £10million for a player of his ability is a great deal no matter how you look at it. Personally, the only reason I wouldnt want him is because of his connection to Arsenal but that's just me being stubborn. If you want my honest opinion, that would have been a good deal. If he could capture even a fraction of his best form, the knowledge our younger players could get off him is worth the £10million alone, even if he didnt kick a ball for us during the season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - 68' 99' 08' European Champions!!!!!!!!
