Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

They'll have to be at their best to stop Rooney, Tevez & that boy Ronaldo!

you never know what happens... yeah lyon lost to le mans but it's completely in champs league. Liverpool are a completely different team when playing in champs league.. both teams have good players... but fact is Ronaldo does go missing in big matches... so i guess u guys will be depending on Tevez, Rooney the most

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I am not even suprised anymore. This will be our 12th straight Premiership draw in a row - who did Chelsea get? Fucking Barsnley. Last round Huddersfield and before that it was another Championship team I think.

dude get over it... its just our luck... we get championship teams and you guys get premiership teams.. isn't that a good thing?? so stop cribbing... bring on champs league drooling for those matches!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

We have got the experience & flare to get through this tie but it's gonna be tough, I agree. Also "I am over it", I'm more than entitled to a moan - all other supporters do it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

MANCHESTER UNITED ace Nani has been warned he could get another good kicking if he continues with his showboating antics.

The Portuguese star wound up Arsenal by playing keepy-uppy towards the end of his starring show in the 4-0 FA Cup fifth-round thrashing.

Moments later, a clearly frustrated William Gallas took a kick at Nani and could now face an FA charge.

But Gunners midfielder Gilberto insists the United winger faces more of the same if he continues to show off.

The Brazilian was seen having a quiet word with Nani as Arsenal — already down to 10 men after Emmanuel Eboue’s red card — lost their rag.

Gilberto said: “Some of our guys were upset that he did that. It was important for us we didn’t lose control and lose another man.

“I just spoke to him and told him it wasn’t necessary for him to do that. I told him he could get a bad kick doing that.

“In these type of situations I do my best to calm down my team-mates because we need all of them on the pitch to fight for the team.”

Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson both agreed Nani had gone a step too far.

Arsenal boss Wenger said: “He was very good — but that was not needed. It was a little bit disrespectful.

“Young players want to show what they can do and I just hope he learns from it and he won’t do it again.”

United chief Ferguson said: “I agree I think he shouldn’t be doing that, he doesn’t need to do that.

“In some ways it shows a great deal of courage to do what he did — that’s one side of it. But you don’t need to do that and I’ve had a word with him about it.”

The FA will wait for the report from referee Alan Wiley before deciding whether to take action against Gallas.

But the Frenchman seems certain to face a charge and Ferguson reckons it would be fully justified.

He said: “I thought Gallas should have been sent off. The referee must have a look at that again.”

Sounds like it's worse to show off than to kick opponents...

Ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka, Quaresma should all be banned from football because they showoff every single game against their opponents...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I'm sure plan m you guys got the flair & experience to get the job done... have to say going to good match!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Its all set up to be another United Chelsea Final I reckon.... I think the draw is rigged and everytime we draw a Prem team which as Mike says has happened all of the last 12 ties we have played, It is fixed.....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

...and this time we won't be as tired seeing as we have the bigger squad than last year (Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves, Tevez).

We got to beat Portsmouth first and they were tricky last time we played them in the Cup at Old Trafford last season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

We need to reclaim the FA cup, havent won it for quite some time now.The draw is rigged I tell you! Having to beat most Premiership teams on the way to winning it makes it sweeter.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Lads...presenting to you Rodrigo Possebon aka Rodrigo.

He is the number 8 in that video.I am certainly impressed with what I see.Certainly one for the future alongside Anderson perhaps?

oh boo hoo... boy you guys are the first to jump the gun stating the draw is fixed... as I said earlier its just your bad luck to draw 12 premiership teams... and don't treat Portsmouth so lightly... they got back their African players along with diarra playing well...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Looks like Karim Benzema prefers not to play in England in todays reports.Sir Alex must be really keen on him as its rare to have him say anything about a future signing or a player he is looking at.It might be mind games before our clash with Lyon but thats what he did, saying we are officially looking at Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa.

Where does he say your officailly looking at them?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I thought Sir just said the deal for Benzema is possible... not scouting... where did you read this?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

nah i dont think so. In england he wont be able to make use of his skills to the fullest. whereas in La Liga or Serie A maybe he'll do better coz its not so physical. but then its upto him where he wants to go.

to some extent i agree with you, but i still think he would be good no matter where he goes... but i think the english are on crack when they say seire A is not as physical as england... which really doesnt matter cause its way more tactical which makes it hard for forwards to do as well, combine the tactics, with the physicallity, and the gamesmanship(professional fouling, provocation, see matterazzi) its the hardest league for forwards to adapt too IMO

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Massive game tonight and I'm nervous about it for some reason - I hope we get a 2-2 there like a few seasons ago! ;)

I hope Fergie plays:

--------------- V. Der Sar ------------

---- Brown ---- Rio --- Vidic ------ Evra

--- Ronaldo - Hargreaves - Scholes - Giggs

------- Rooney ------ Tevez -------

Even though Carrick has been in-form of late I think we need a more defensive midfield away from home. Hargreaves is the man for doing all the ugly work which allows the Ginger Prince to work his magic.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Give me a chance lads but i would actually play this team...

--------------- V. Der Sar ------------

---- Brown ---- Rio --- Vidic ------ Evra

---------Hargreaves--Anderson--Scholes---

--Ronaldo--------------------------Tevez

----------------Rooney-----------------

Personally think this is more european suited and we could really boss the midfield with them 3 in their which is what you need in europe

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I like that formation mate but would swap Scholes for Anderson and I somehow feel Sir Alex would play Saha instead of Tevez.A 1-1,2-2 draw would suit us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I am expecting United to thrash Lyon.

I really hope so mate. This time last season we won 1-0 at Lille with that Giggs free-kick. They're players threatened to boycott the match after the goal!
