I'm hoping for evenly matched fight... would be interesting... you guys got good players Anderson, Rooney, Tevez etc coming up against Benzema, Fred, Juninho etc... ahh... I wish I could watch both matches at the same time (Arsenal vs AC Milan & Manchester United vs Lyon)

We just dont go to Lyon and thrash them Bhai...They were difficult opponents when we last met them a couple of seasons ago...I think it was a 2-2 draw with Ruud getting both goals for us.

Would be glad with any sort of victory ofcourse but any sort of draw would do just fine too.

Well, during the first twenty minutes I was scared shitless, we were getting overwhelmed everywhere. But once the game settled down we dominated. Shame we didn't win but you can't argue with Benzema's finish, noone stops that.

I was annoyed at Rio and Vida passing it between each other for the last five or so minutes after Tevez scored, we could've taken the tie there and then if they would've stopped dicking around.

Big ups to Sir Alex for the changes he made.Its a shame he did not made those changes earlier on.Scholes did not contribute much in the game and should have gone much earlier.Hargreaves stuck to his task well despite giving away a few dangerous freekicks.Anderson as expected hustled their midfield well enough.

Benzema took his goal really really quick.A mark of a great striker.He showed good strength too,holding up play numerous times and that is not a easy feat with Nemanja Vidic always sniffing around.Sir Alex gleamed about Benzema when asked about the striker during the post match interviews.He loves strikers and I think he has got an eye on Benzema.

It was an entertaining open match to summarise and Tevez's goal is very precious to us.Lets see if we can rip them apart at OT perhaps?

Yes, I hate the Glazers as does every true United supporter. They ploughed our club into debt & like the L'pool supporters; we don't want OUR clubs and OUR heritage in Yank hands.

Lyon v Manchester United:

REALLY chuffed with the result. They were magnificant in parts; Benzema's goal was sublime, I even applauded when he was substituted. But you gotta give our lads credit, they moved the ball pretty well in the second-half and Tevez YET AGAIN late on saved the day. Away goal & Old Trafford to come, only WE can spoil it for ourselves. A good night in all. One last note: the childish "I won't pass to him" bollocks between Ben Arfa & Benzema. If you want to come to Old Trafford lads, Fergie won't have ANY of that!

Benzema had like 5 defenders around him when he scored. Brilliant player, was their main threat and made it really difficult for us until he was taken off. He'll be the one to watch again when we come back to OT for the 2nd leg.

Benzema played really well, but it was Vidic's defending that kept him from scoring some extra goals. and ofcourse u have to give credit to Ben Arfa for being so selfish at not passing the ball to benzema and scoring a rugby goal instead.

This sounds so stupid mate...why would we give Ben Arfa credits for? Its to Lyon's demise if they have internal problems...rushigetalife...you should bother more about YOUR arsenal and watch YOUR team play instead of watching us,comprende? Going to the San Siro is no easy task.We were murdered there last season.

rushilhalflife was being sarcastic phrase... man.... lyon really outplayed Man U through and through you gotta admit. The Benzema goal excellent..sublime... totally agree vidic's defending saved you guys a lot. Tevez good player but I think it was due Fred's trickery that went wrong that allowed him to score... He was supposed to score from that header but missed completely.. good match the Ac Milan & Arsenal match though!!

I'm sure many of us here will not agree to such an absurd statement dude.Lyon DID NOT outplayed us at all...certainly not through and through.


Side news...Looks like its the end of the road for Wesley Brown.He has rejected our improve and would be final offer to stay on at OT.Sir Alex has hit out at him indirectly saying that players these days are "living in the pockets of their agents",being muppets in other words.This situation has depressed him deeply bearing in mind that Brown has been with the club since he was 12.It would be a sad ending come this summer when Brown leaves the club,a local lad,seems destined to be United through and through but is not meant to be.

You have a real problem with people watching your team don't you? People can watch more than one game a night - its the miracle of being able to record programmes or watching Highlights programmes :DD

People like watching different teams - they are football fans.

If he thinks they outplayed you - then thats what he thinks. No point attacking him - it only leads to arguments ;))

'It was against Olypiacos aswell - which are no where near as good as Lyon'

Newcastle away tomorrow evening lads - WE HAVE to win. We drew last season 2-2, Milner & Scholes both scored crackers!

If we draw/lose and Arsenal win - they win the Premiership.

A bit sad really. I know players like Butt and Phil Neville have moved on but it was a mutual agreement. Here it looks like Sir Alex would have liked him to stay. He's not exactly the best right back we can get but I think its cuz he could also play as a center half that the boss wanted to keep him.
I guess the good news is that this'll push us to get a better replacement.
