BBC/MotD have a history of doing this stuff. Cant be showing anything too critical otherwise noone will talk to them.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I think Rio was over-celebrating a bit at the end of the game, you didn't even win!

Mate, we threw everything at Spurs for 91 minutes, it seemed all over. When you score a goal with literally the last kick of the game, it's gonna make you celebrate if you're a player. Also, we are only a win away from going back on top if you drop points - that's how important that goal was.

Well we were accused of over celebrating by some of you in here when we equalised late against you. Just trying to make the point that goals that late can make a difference at the end of the season as you rightly said. My comment was meant in a sarcastic way if you know what I mean. Good to see Spurs being brought down a peg or two ;). A draw was a perfect result for me!

Exactly - All the Man U supporters were putting in sly digs when we celebrated the draw against you - when we STAYED top of the league.

You got put down to second and now - Rio was justified?!

I think we had much more to celebrate than you guys did against Spurs - but we got vilified by all the Man U supporters in here.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I never criticised you guys for equalising against us - a point was just about right for both teams that day. :)

Bobby, don't tarnish me with that brush, I have done nothing but praise you lot this season.

I know you have mate - I will Tarnish you no more :)

It just annoyed me when some people in here was saying that crap.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

United have the amazing but tired Ronaldo and Arsenal's Adebayor can't stop scoring goals. We both play gorgeous football, we both never give in and we both look like potential champions. It must be a Nike thing (even Fulham won today!) All the teams in Adidas play drab, boring football. Strange that! :)

Just wanna state something. When we played away to Arsenal,we led by a goal up and only to concede late in the game.On paper,Arsenal had the home advantage and were expected to win the game, just like every other home team.Again,we led before concede late and that was a big disappointment for us.

Yesterday,we played away to Spurs, coming back from a dubious early goal by virtually the last kick of the game.Spurs had the home advantage and were wo win on paper. They did not and we literally snatched the points off them.

Therefore,we had every right to celebrate like we did at the end.Sir Alex made a bold statement that if we were to win the league,we must go on an unbeaten run.Nothing too far-fetched and we are looking on course for our 10th title.Cheers.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

So Utd go into every away game as underdogs? Ah...well that explains the celebrations. Especially considering your dreadful recent history against spurs...

we led by a goal up and only to concede late in the game.

Again,we led before concede late and that was a big disappointment for us.

Er...what's your point?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

For Phrase the terms pot and kettle springs to mind. For me, we had more reason to celebrate our draw against United cos we took 2 points of them and got 1 for ourselves as a result of Willy's goal. Gallas's goal was worth 3 points to us at that moment. All Utd did on Sat was to gain a point they looked like losing.

Isnt it ironic how I could use what you said and flip it back to you? Tevez's goal was worth 3 points to us at that moment. Can?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Giggsy :applause:

Manchester United's most decorated player Ryan Giggs believes those that don the club's red shirt have a duty to history to try and entertain.

The Old Trafford club's past is shaped by sides that played attractive football, with legendary manager Sir Matt Busby the man who first honed a desire to entertain the paying public.

And it is a mantra embraced by current boss Sir Alex Ferguson, whose own sides have always echoed those of United's past.

Speaking of the 23 people who perished in the Munich air disaster on 6th February, 1958, Giggs expressed a desire to keep their legacy alive.

"If you are representing Manchester United, you have to play in the right manner, excite supporters and wherever you go, get people off their seats," said Giggs.

"That has got to go on because that is one of the things that sets this club apart. You never stand still. It always goes forward."

A certain two clubs in the "big four" could do with sitting up and taking notice here.

Any guesses which those two teams are??

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Thats what I meant gomito...obviously some here did not understand.

We snatched points from a team in form at their home ground with virtually the last kick of the game.

Care to explain your "I think Rio was over-celebrating a bit at the end of the game, you didn't even win!" line and then cue Gomito's post.
