Interesting one with the penalty/yellow card. Curious what other supporters feel. For me it's true Niemi didn't touch Ronaldo, but he did present a 3/4 foot stumbling block in his path without touching the ball. For me that's still a foul, and if it's incidental, it certainly is NOT a dive. I mean, Ronaldo's agile, but since when is it the strikers job to get the ball first at full speed, then hurdle and onrushing keeper who has his arms up in the air (interesting as the ball was on the ground) and the regain his balance and score? Surely you can't just 'make yourself big' and stand int he players way?

What I love is that Ashley Young's dive was so much worse, but Ronaldo's will make headlines, get in foreign quotas, he's a diving c*nt etc. And you'll never hear of Young's again.

Trouble is mate its like the boy who cried wolf isnt it? hes done it so much in the past that when its legitamate sometimes hes not going to get it! Bit like Andy johnson last year for a phase.

Yeah I think you're probably right on that one. He was pretty poor his first two years, but has really improved on the diving thing. I wonder how many seasons it'll take refs to forget, if they ever do.

Then again, Robbie Keane got sent off Sunday, and if ever there were a player who doesn't often commit fouls, no matter red card offenses, there he is.

I think this is a bit daft this one.But its true what antred said.Ronaldo still has that "Diver" tag and he has to work extra hard to shake it off...I mean, how are you suppose to fall, one on one with an onrushing keeper whose hands catches you on your feet? What, summersault over him? C'mon...Ronaldo is THAT fast and the faster they are,the harder and further they fall..Pity.

been searching for a good old trafford , the only ones i can find have awful turfs , would any one care to upload theres or link me to a good one please.

trouble is styles gave the exact same penalty to gerrard last year... trouble for you and your conspiracy theory that united get all calls.. :)

Yeah except Rob Styles give Chelsea a pen at Anfield for Maloudas 'fall'.

Andy Johnson had a similar problem last year. In a few games he threw a dive in and got critcised, then in a few other games he actually was up ended a few times but didnt get them because of his rep. Im hoping refs are wising up, whether is Ronaldo, Johnson or Gerrard.

Thats not the right saying - its 'the bigger they are, the harder they fall'
He's not using the saying, he's just making a point. The faster you run, the harder and further you're likely to fall if you trip over someone.

Portsmouth are prepared to listen to offers for left back Matthew Taylor in January according to The Times. We need cover for Evra at LB and why not Matt Taylor? I think he is class and could operate as a proper left sided midfielder too.

according to the papers we're also looking at nicky shorey and a 23 year old serb called Ivanovic...

just hope we've got a striker up our sleeve aswell...

Who would cut it at United Vann....Matt Taylor or Nicky Shorey?

The serb player is Branislav Ivanovic...apparently he is in the same mould as Vidic, has bigger potential than Vidic and can play anywhere across the back four...

its hard to say, both have had good managers...

but i'd prefer taylor out of the two...

but Ivanovic as highly rated, like you say can play anywhere in the back four and also in midfield...

and he may be cheaper although Shorey is out of contract (i think)

Because the last goal scored by Man U that wasn't either an own goal or scored by Ronaldo was a long long time ago....

;) great to know isnt it that we have RM who can bang in goals like a CF, anyway 1 point now you need to do the business tommorow

And we aren't even half way into the season and they're already bragging about not relying on one player anymore. You could still end the season with nothing...
