Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

I thought the sunderland fans we're complete muppets on saturday!

For once im actually glad of the international break, our last two performances have been pretty poor...

At least Ronaldo should make it back into the team which will defo add more of a goal threat....

great to see saha get off the mark in his first game, dont think he will be joining up with france so should be okay for next game, away to the toffees...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Hopefully our bad patch is behind us. Well done Villa for beating the scummers (aka Chelski) now all we need to do is beat one half of Merseyside and hope the other half beats itself!!!

goodison is a hard place to get points...

We've got a decent record there but we we're kinda lucky last year...

Fingers crossed rooney may even make the bench!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Funny how Hargreaves could make it for our first eleven and drops out of England training.Hahahaha.

We shouldnt rush Rooney back in my opinion but the boy got a body built like a bull and its no surprise he is making a fast progress.

Goodison park is a hard place to get all 3 points, especially this season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Anyone heard about the Dos Santos rumours:shock: , i thought we need a striker not another amazing talent why is fergie trying to make us brazil like?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Giovanni Dos Santos is ANOTHER mercurial young talent that we are after apparently.Looks like Sir Alex wants the future to be brighter than even just incase he decides to retire. It looks like he is still bitter on not getting Ronaldinho a couple of season back and has now gone to buy young players who can spark off 'magic' in the field.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Whoever takes over Sir Alex is gonna have such an easy job to do. He'll have all the talent he needs, all the staff, facilities, etc. I think he's trying to make sure he leaves the club behind in great shape.

That has got to be one of if not the most untrue things I have ever read in connection with football.

Whoever follows Ferguson will have a monumentaly difficult job because of the level of expectation and achievements at Man Utd that have been built up over 17 years.

Trying to cut your own mark on a club that is massivey in his shadow will be enormously difficult. To be seen as a success a manager will have to try to emulate what Ferguson has achieved, that is what the fans will look for. How can you emulate that?

Both of you are correct but I guess Sir Alex wont give up his job for just about anybody. That somebody would have had his approval before taking the hot seat at OT...somebody big like Marcello Lippi or Fabio Cappello might be candidates.

I agree, plus he will have his head called for with each loss, unlike the relatively invincible position of Fergie. However, if a manager is ambitious enough and strong enough, surely the United job must be one of hte most coveted in world football. Plus with a young team like United possess, there's no limit on how far they should go.

Quieroz scares me to be honest. But I guess Fergie knows best right...?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

i think that man utd has 4 of the best players in the world for the years to come
i'm talking about nani, anderson, rooney and ronaldo
nani and anderson still have a lot to learn but both of them have great potential
ronaldo and rooney are already the 2 most influential players in the team but they will get even better in the future
so i think that although the hopes will be very very high, ferguson's replacement will have all the conditions to make a great team. with the right manager i don't see why ferguson's great work can't be continued

queiroz is not good option. he knows a lot about football, but not about motivating players and controllin them
his job at united is perfect because he only has to deal with preparing the players and not making decisions. he's great at dealing with young players and developing them but at real madrid he showed that he can't handle a team full of stars
so i think he should stay in this job, it's better for him and for the club

hahaha, i can see Keano taking over.....that might have some spark for our future.....especially with what he's learning and doing with Sunderland...guess what he can do at OT!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Mark Hughes for me.

He HAS proved it over multiple years now. Perfect choice plus hes an attacking manager & will have respect from day one.

As with Keano tho

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

in a few years Ronaldo , nani and Fabregas will all be in RMadrid. I dont see them them in the EPL in 4 yrs and I think Eagle will be the man

I Disagree. i Think that Ronaldo and Nani will only leave Utd if they get a too inflated ego and start playing for them selves, instead of playing for the team/fans.

btw, my hommage to Ole

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

I think Ronaldo is a possibility of moving ,as at the age of what 22 he's the best winger and arguably one of the best in the world Real will come knocking with one of thier offers such as figo , zidane, of around 50-60M and we'll accept , yet i dont see Nani leaving at all he just doesnt seem that type of player who will leave United

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

i hope Ronaldo can look back to the past and see that moving to Real Madrid ain´t a great idea.

you right he will and then look to sign for Barca ;) , seriously i think the main reason Ronaldo is at Man Utd is cause of Fergie soi think he might want to move on the same time as fergie which will probably be the same time Neville,Scholes,Giggs, all leave :(

The main reason Ronaldo is at Man Utd is because A) they paid over 12 million to take him from a smaller club in a smaller league, B) because although offered to Chelsea Mourinho didn't go for him, C) That Man Utd are paying me lot of money D) That he and Man Utd have been ver successful together D)That ferguson protected him after the fall out from the world cup E) That Carlos Quirós is at Old Traford and their is a Portugese mentor.

If any of the above were different he might not be there or might hve left.

As it is you do have him and he has not left and you have every chance of keeping him as long as the pay remains good and the success keeps coming...that is my view anyway.

me myself don't think that Fergie will retire or move from Utd. i Think he'll only leave Utd when he gets dead.

you maybe Right, but sometimes, people just don't mind if their reality is good enough, they just think "well, doin' that it could be better" and they do that. many times, they fail.

since when did that happen we signed Ronaldo in 2003, Mourinho took over chelsea in 2005

Sorry association slip. He was offered to Chelsea pre Mourinho.

The point remains.

I think your wrong he wasnt offered to Chelsea, former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier spotted Ronaldo when he was 16 but thought he needed time to develop then Sir Alex spotted him a year later when they played Sporting and the rest is history:)

Things like pressure, expectations, etc are all in your head. At the end of the day you only need to find 11 players and guide them to victory on the pitch. Everything else only effects you if you let it affect you.

You are living on a differing planet to reality on this one ....sorrry :(

Sorry but I am categorically correect on the main point; he was offered to Chelsea by his agent.

But what does that actually mean...I think the points I made were most relevant, as in each one in turn.

ok your right, no other english team has 12 million, only man united can afford a player that costs 12 million, teams like everton, boro, spurs, newcastle, they cant afford a player like 12 million, thats way too expensive, they are poor teams who cant fill there stadiums and they cant sell there uniforms, it was only because of the 12 million that manu could put up that got ronaldo to OT. it wasnt the manager, it wasnt the trophies, it wasnt the 77,000 for every game, it wasnt the tradition, it was the 12 million and

"B) because although offered to Chelsea Mourinho didn't go for him, C) That Man Utd are paying me lot of money D) That he and Man Utd have been ver successful together D)That ferguson protected him after the fall out from the world cup E) That Carlos Quirós is at Old Traford and their is a Portugese mentor. sarcasim over, your a troll, seriously go post your bullshit somewhere else

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Wow..some people in here REALLY try to get his points across to others innit?

Anyways, did anybody ready about Sir Alex's admission of a mistake he made 6 years ago by selling Jip Jaap Stam? I wonder how did that came about but I think Stam has finally been replaced by Nemanja Vidic.Stam back then was a monster in defence but its a shame he didnt score much during his spell with us.
