Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

they looked scared to celebrate, Why? even flipper himself

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

let's see if heinze still wants to sign for liverpool after they lost to portsmouth on penalties ;)

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Yes, because Sir Alex is afraid for Nani taking an injury.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Ok then, I thought maybe Sir Alex didn't want him to showboat against such weak opposition... :)

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

We don't want to humiliate them. They might not want us back and might stop buying shirts.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

What line up we looking at for next weekend then

Im reckoning a 4-4-2, Giggs supporting Rooney

------------VDS
Brown---Rio---Vidic---Evra
Nani----???--Carrick--Ronaldo
--------Rooney--Giggs

Im not sure on the fitness of players like Neville, Hargreaves and Saha. Fletcher or O'Shea to fill the ??? in midfield if Hargreaves isnt fit

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

...........VDS.............
BROWN....RIO...VIDIC...EVRA
NANI....HRGRVS..CARRICK...RONALDO
..........???....ROONEY......

The question mark's I agree will be giggs, but if Anderson plays well Wednesday he could start. Although i doubt it as not fergie's style to throw all the new boys in at the deep end together....99% sure it will be giggsy.

Also, tevez news sounds promising. With a bit of luck could be unveiled sunday @ wembley!! I'm going - can't wait.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

i thought Nani was left footed....why do you guys all put him on the right??? for better shots?? i'd switch him and C. Ron

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

nani is like ronaldo in terms of feet
plays well with both feet but he's right footed

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

hahaha, ok thx....so i had the wrong info given to me!! thanks for the clear-up!!!

then i totally agree with those line-ups given....they should be really good!!!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Has Gaz Neville recovered from his injury? I guess Hargreaves will not start without full match fitness.Aside these two I guess most of the lads will be raring to go.Here's my lineup for the Charity Shield

..........VDS..........
NEV...RIO...VIDIC...EVRA
...FLETCHER...CARRICK...
NANI....GIGGS.....RONALDO
.........ROONEY........

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I'm watching a replay of the 04/05 Charity Shield when we played Arsenal and won thru penalties if memory serves me well. Our team was-

------------Howard---------------
-Gaz--O'Shea--Silvestre--Fortune-
---------Keane---Djemba2---------
--Bellion----------------Giggs---
--------Scholes---Smith----------

How were we even contented of winning anything with that line up back then?? Major missout was Ruud and Ferdinand.

Arsenal started with-

------------Lehmann----------
-Lauren---Toure--Cygan--Cole-
---------Fab---Gilberto------
--Pennant---------------Reyes-
--------Bergkamp---Henry------

Better team on paper rather than ours honestly.I swore nobody had a better first touch than Dennis Bergkamp in the Premiership at that time. His control and passes were immaculate.

Now I know Fergie has a better view into this than we do, but seriously, why let Rossi go? Smith is practically on the bus, and if the Tevez thing doesn't pan out, we'll only have Rooney, Ole, Saha and...erm...I guess Anderson, Ronaldo, Giggs?

It seems to me putting a whole lot of eggs in one basket, and I just don't see the harm of keeping Rossi, blooding him til January and if you don't like what you see let him go.

wasnt that the game we lost 3-1 with Smith getting a wonderstrike?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Then which was the one where we won on penalties? I remember it being Howards first season with us and he made that last vital penalty save to win the match for us.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

2003 remember jeffer`s got sent off(the good o`days) 1-1 score and howard was a hero

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

wow...feels so long ago!! hahaha....wait it was 5 years ago...wow...time flies....and in that line-up, how many turned out as busts?? hahaha

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

So Rossi has apparently been sold to Villareal for a little over £6million...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Does anyone know a good online shop where I can buy the new kit, one that will accept my Visa Electron (the official store doesn't have it listed)?

I could use eBay but I'm a bit weary of fakes.

Thanks. :)

Grrrrr. Rossi gone. Smith on way out. Saha crocked. Ole crocked. Tevez in court.

We're clearly playing a 4-3-3 this season, we no longer have 2 strikers to play together!

I wish nothing but the best to Rossi, he still looks a great talent,s ure he'll have lots of success in Spain. Maybe one day he'll return...
