Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Thats funny about heinze going to court. And im sure he's in his legal right with no specified clubs being named in the contract.
Would be amusing if he did sign just to see fergie....

Tbh im not that bothered about signing him as a player, he's a bit old although i guess he would be good backup for both hyppia (who is really on his last legs) and riise for a couple of seasons.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

4-0 evra got the final goal.

if heinze pushes through a move to the dippers i'd be gutted. he'd go from being a hero to being hated at united. surely he realises that, maybe he's not arsed. apparently his agents have been trying to engineer a move away from old trafford for the past 18 months

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

It was only yesterday that slur alex was defiant and said Heinze moving to Liverpool would not happen and today it seems that there might be a chance meaning and not for the first time that after his comments him and gill will look like a right bunch of twats if this deal goes through. As for Heinze degrading himself well if you mean going from 2nd most successful team in England to the most successful team in England who are on the up, then yes he is obviously degrading himself.

Yeah, thats true. I completely forgot that once he signs the contract, he's gonna take a time machine and fly back to the '70s.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Oh dont start that again..........

It worries me that his agent has been trying to engineer a move for 18 months now, and the fact he is willing to go against the club and the fans to play for another club. Ive never heard anything from him about being a liverpool supporter all his life (as everyone else who signs for us seems to be) so its seems more to do with being able to stay in england, and probably his current home, and play for a top team more then any love of the club. Whats he gonna be like in two seasons when he's had enough of CL finals and no prem trophy.......In other words it seems its nothing to do with any affection for the club, both liverpool or manu, and pretty much just the best deal he can get with the minimum of fuss for his family. Will he have any passion for the team when those are his reasons?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

So far we havent heard anything official from Heinze himself. We all know how leeching these agents are.It will be sad to see Heinze leave but it will be devastating to see him join Liverpoo. The Bernabeu is a better destination for him with that leftback largely available.

:applause:

Its a shame about Heinze, in his first season he was a monster for United but after the bad injury he has never got back to his old self. Also theres no point in having players in your squad that dont want to be there

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I think Heinze would get a lot more games than he thinks. Its not as if Evra is twice the player or something. I'd expect Heinze to play atleast 40% of the games.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Watching the game yesterday, Evra was really getting forward a lot. I can't see why he can't cover for Giggs on occasion and we could still play Heinze at LB.

we could have but that would mean the signing of nani would be pointless Nani is 20 right know we signed ronaldo at the age of 18 and he played like 30 games so i dont see why nani wont be the same

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

apparently gaby speaks

"I will only leave United if Alex Ferguson says to my face that I do not enter in his plans for next season. I think I deserve a place in the starting eleven. I am perfect physically and I do not consider me to be inferior to any companion in the defense."

i'm glad to hear him speaking like this, it offers some encouragement that he may be with us for the start of the season although how fergie reacts is a different matter

"In the last weeks there've been many rumours in the press but in reality where are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, etc? I know the rumours of the interest from Liverpool by the newspapers.

"This is a delicate subject, especially for the fans. "They are the people who have always done so much to help me since my arrival and I believe that to leave United for Liverpool would not be understood by them."

don't like that he comments further on liverpool, i would've like to hear his dismiss it completely but it's good to see he has some concept of what it would mean to go from united to liverpool

FFS how is evra going to cope against the liverpools, chelseas and boltons of the premiership, no other way to put it, he is a weakness in the air when we defend set pieces

Set pieces are a weakness right across the back though. A couple of occasions against Urawa and Soeul we looked a bit shaky.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I hope you're not doing anything stupid to repay her...;)

I got my tea made for me. Watched the match and had a few drinks. Great night. She is now a Man Utd fan.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Thats a top notch tv my friend. Its Monday and I hope the Tevez transfer saga will be sorted out by this week.We face a Chinese team tomorrow and I hope the lads will do well.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Nani will get a game as there is a lot of Portuguese history in Macau

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Indeed, Nani should get a run out, am finally going to be able to see it today. Will be good if he gets put in with a strong 11, so we can see what he'll be like, rather than the second string midfield.

Would be nice to give Dong some time as well, being in China and all...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Apparently Scholes has been flown back to the UK for treatment on an injury, nad while they haven't said anything about what it is, the commentators do keep saying how important it is that Simposn, and Fletcher get games to cover for his loss...doesn't sound good.. :(!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

@marukomu: tbh i had mutv and i thought it was shit, only good for the pre-season games.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I thought I saw that in the game against Seoul. He looked like he was going to pull his shorts down but then bottled out.
