Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Any progress inthe rumours related to Khadeira..Schweinsteiger or..wes Sneijder???

- Khedira is wanted by Madrid, according to the papers. Ozil's name was linked with us again today, but nothing solid.
- Schweinsteiger has never been linked to us AFAIK, though Chelsea were sniffing round him last season so might be again. Unless you meant Lahm? But no, no news on either.
- Sneijder doesn't want to leave Inter, and realistically we couldn't afford him anyway...

SAF has said that we won't be signing anyone else now, so unless something drastic happens before the start of the season, that probably won't change.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

losing by 4 pts means you don`t need anyone if anything 10% less injury will make the difference unless I`m missing something. Aresnal on the other hand needs at the back and 15% less injury and we could make the race much tighter.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Which Youngster's do you lot reckon are going to make the biggest step up this season then? plenty to choose from.

- I think Rafael will be 1st choice RB by the end of the season
- Gibson will get over 10 goals

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah both good shouts, especially for Rafael. Also Evans already shown he is capable but if Rio's injuries continue I can see him making himself first choice as he really is class.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What do you gentlemen think of your chances of winning the league this season with more or less minimal changes? That is with Hernandez and Smalling obviously added.

Do you think you have more stability considering you have more or less the same squad from last season which only finished 1 point behind an all firing Chelsea team.

Or would you have preferred more radical changes, with more players coming in and more seen extracted from the club?

Are worried about your club's financial predicament with the glazers? What are your perceptions of the debt? Do you feel you are safe or on the boarder of a crisis?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If we manage to avoid an injury situation like last season we will win the league. I'm happy with the squad.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

According to giggs Pool are amongst the few to win .Now, that Cole is there :P I do pray for a less injuries in all clubs .

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

J Cole is a broken player. My sources tell me he himself feels he is not the same. He'll play a bit part for Liverpool. Who I personally see challenging for 4th/5th once again. No threat to anyone really.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

This is how I see next years table finishing

1. Man Utd/Chelsea
2. Chelsea/Man Utd
3. Man City
4. Arsenal
5. Tottenham/Liverpool
6. Liverpool/Tottenham
7. Villa

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We just won a game against Philadelphia Union thanks to a goal from Gabby Obertan in the 76th minute.

Read that Sir Alex started with a front three...Obertan and Welbeck at the sides and Macheda as the CF.

Are we going back to 4-3-3 next season?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It felt more like a 442 to be honest, with Giggsy out wide left but a bit more withdrawn, Obertan out very wide right and the two through the middle.

We made a real meal out of it, but eventually won. Some woeful final passes and shots were what stopped us racking up the scores (and some good goalkeeper anticipation, to be fair) but what worried me was how easily they created chances.

Wes Brown and John O'Shea were defensively woeful, for the second straight match. Very odd when a Fulham reserve player and a Brazilian kid known for poofy hair and attakcing football are providing better defensive positioning then two established internationals. Complacency perhaps?

Oh and Berbatov was once again silky when he came on, created a few openings and spun a shot brilliantly against the crossbar (and possibly over the line, I couldn't quite tell, wasn't given). He really is looking up for it this year...

(and Scholes should have been sent off for two horrible challenges. so nothing changes)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Kiko and Wellbeck have a long way to go before they're ready I think.

Kiko's attitude and positioning are suspect at the minute and despite getting rave reviews, Wellbeck just doesn't look that good to me, looks less lethal than a small kitten with no claws, that said he did play a lovely pass through for Obertan to score.

Berba and Rafael came on and made a large difference to the game, and Gabby finished off a lovely move with a great finish.

We were bloody awful though to be honest, even if some of that is down to how hard Philadelphia worked.

Its was definately 4-4-2, with Giggs also in the team. Nice goal from Obertan. Showed quick feet to get the finish in such a tight space.
I honestly think he's on the verge of giving Nani and Valencia a serious fight for their places. In fact, I already cant decide who I'd prefer. But I guess I'm only basing this on two friendlies so I'm a little biased.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's injured, can't remember what's wrong with him, but Fergie said he'd be ready for the start of the season in the same press conference he confirmed Rio probably wouldn't be.

(and that Hargreaves had done a runner to colorado)

I'm beginning to think that we're really not going to sign anyone else. Which will, undoubtedly, result in us paying over the odds in January when we're out of the top four and struggling following injuries to Scholes and VDS.

Sigh.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Didn't Tony V do his knee against Spurs? Can't remember him playing after that...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah he got injured in the run in. It was against Spurs or maybe the Scouse but he was taken off during a match and that was the end of his season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Read that on the premierleague site as well.

Good news.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

that`s like signing a new player but his wages go slightly up to 90k and Rooney`s will go up 175k I bet. Blame City Toure getting 200k or something ridiculous like that. Who can afford players when wages goes up like that.

"Dont worry, guys! I got this."

He'll be a fuckin' legend if he signs.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Great news, Would have been heartbreaking to lose another top class player to Real.

Or no doubt by January we'll be praising SAF by not buying anyone by being top of the league followed with Nani and Anderson starring ;))
