Manchester United Thread

Veloso is an absolute cry baby, like Sportings Coach had no1 to use as a left wing back and he had to put Veloso there, well he was atrocious to say the least and after the game went to the press talking sh*t about the coach and as had several "fights" with him cous the lil baby thinks he is too good to be in Sporting and deserves more. But yeah he is really overrated all through Europe atm. Your better with Hargo, even if he is a bit injury prone.

5-0 Get in!! Ronaldo gets a brace (Still of form though) Berbatov was out of this world, Simply class. Park was quality aswell.

Hopefully know we'll hit form aswell, 3 points clear. Lets hope for a draw with Chelsea and Liverpool :))

I didn't manage to see the game but it obviously looks like we've finally battered someone, and regardless of the opposition it's always nice to see us do that again.

Hopefully we can get a good run of results now with plenty of goals.

That was a brilliant result for us in every way. First of all, it was 5-0 which is always great to see, Ronaldo got a brace which will only help his confidence, Tevez and Berba got goals to help their tally for the season, we broke the record for clean sheets, VDS has now gone longer than anyone else without conceeding, our goal difference is now the best in the league alongside Chelsea, we're three points clear, and we achieved all that through this injury crisis we're having.

I was about to say what Rune said...in the words of the Gaffer,we were RUTHLESS.Looks like our squad got its much needed boost and break with the returns of Ferdinand,Brown,Park and Fletcher.Hopefully nobody else gets crocked or anything like that.Giggs again had a stormer in the middle with the excellent Carrick.I cant believe Park was out with a hamstring strain,he ran all game!

Fantastic victory and now the ball is in them Scousers half...let them screw it all up for themselves.Yay.

Ronaldo said somewhere that he is worth 100 million. i lol'd.

I think he actually said that he can understand individual players being worth that, because of what they bring in terms of revenue. Read it somewhere, can't remember. He wasn't explicitly referring to himself.

If Kaka is worth that (he's not, no one is IMO) than Ronaldo must be too, no?

id pay more for kaka than i would for ronaldo although i think he'll come good this season, hes becoming less and less selfish the i see him play. he'll just turn into more of a winger.

I wouldnt, The Ronaldo we saw in 06/07 was a better player than Kaka, hopefully he can get playing like that again.

i have to disagree. remember what happened when they met in the cl? kaka scored great goals while ronaldo read the sideboards.

ronaldo had a better season last year because he won everything with united and scored lots of goals but kakas all around play was still better. even in 06/07 when ronaldo actually played better you still cant really compare him to kaka.

lol i dont want to get into a big ronaldo/kaka argument, thats cool if you guys disagree with me. i just watched a lot of both of those players in the past 4 seasons or so so im not basing my opinion on anything else but what ive seen. im a man united fan so im not just bashing ronaldo either although i dont really like him as a player i can respect what he does for the team as he can be really effective. i could just do without the dives and sporadic leg kicks.

yeah park was probably the most dangerous looking player in the first half besides berbatov. didnt quite match it second half but he still did his defensive job which is why hes out there anyways.

Disagree mate Ronaldo 06/07 > 07/08 - Yes he scored more but the Ronaldo the season before had everything. Goals arent everything for me its the performances you put on the pitch and Kaka was pretty average in 06/07 apart from a handfull of CL games whereas Ronaldo dominated Matches in similar respect to what Messi is doing at the moment on a consistent basis. Last year he would have a average game and end up with a hatrick.

Totally agree with YG - despite scoring 42 goals (!) he was just more threatening the year before. Everytime the ball landed at his feet (usually with a terrifyingly good first touch) he put his head down and started beating men. Was a constant threat. The only reason he wasn't considered for the player fo the year awards was because of 2 matches, the semis of the CL. He also dove less and started riding challenges. Was a wonderful thing to watch.

This year...not so much.

I think he's starting to finally pick up where he left off. 2 goals in the last game is exactly what he needed.

Definitely agreeing with him being better in 06/07.

Far more exciting watching him in full flow just fly past people to doing 20 more simple tap ins in a season.

I think in 06/07 the whole team was better if I'm honest. We absolutely dominated that season, but last and this we're getting lucky as it seems noone wants the title.

We have the potential to go on and win the title at a trot, but I've not seen much this season to indicate that'll happen. Pool, Chelsea and Arsenal all have serious issues with their form, but we had a terrible start (as always). If we win at home this weekend it'll be the first time I'm thinking that we'll manage the threepeat. I still think Chelsea are going to have a say, especially if Essien comes back soon.

Nice to see Liverpool reverting to form though :) What's that, 6/9 draws?

Oh I dunno about Chelsea, even with Essien. They don't seem to have any creativity at the moment, which is surprising considering they have Lampard, Deco and Ballack in the same team (but then again, that seems to be the problem). The definitely don't have a plan B, and have no clue how to grind out a result, so I actually think they'll struggle to finish second to be honest.

And oh yes, we all know that next year is 'Liverpools year', so it's about time they stopped being optimistic and started playing like we all know they can.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we cocked up against Everton though, stranger things have happened.

yup he was certainly better and more exciting in 06/07. doesnt mean he was better than kaka though. :P

Kaka had a average season, Its like Ronaldo and Messi this year but Ronaldo out does Messi in 2 matches and gets the award instead of a constant on form Messi.

I think that Felliani will be a problem, not sure if Cahill will play but If he does then we need to mark him out otherwise he'll pop up with a goal.

when did ronaldo out do messi? when he played like shit against barca last season?

yeah fellaini looked dangerous against arsenal yesterday, he won everything they knocked up to him. i think we're better equipped at defending players like him though and we dont do zonal marking so we should be okay on corners. fergies smart enough to realize the threat cahill poses and will have someone on him anyways.
