Manchester United Thread

So Vidic has a one match ban against Inter. Interesting only in that:
a. It's not 3 matches as a red card normally brings
b. Kaladze was sent off in the identical match 2 years ago and received no ban.
So I guess it's a compromised way of f*cking us. Better than the Amsterdam deal then...

Tim Cahill and Maroune Fellaini will be out for Everton tonite. Those two are big players for them and this should give us an upper hand...I'm always divided when we play them because they are an unpredictable side.A marginal win for us perhaps?

It'll have to be I think, we don't tend to batter them when we beat them.

Who knows, maybe somehow they'll spring a surprise, though I hope not cause I don't wanna go to Old Trafford and watch us lose.

Some of the Everton fans might even be cheering for us.

If Moyes is leaving those two out to save them for future games, it's starting to look good again. What that means is teams really fear us again and we have the situation of last year when they felt beaten before they started. If our run continues this will only increase.

when did ronaldo out do messi? when he played like shit against barca last season?

Think you misread what I was saying, it was a example. that this season Ronaldo has been average while Messi has been moons ahead of him but if (for example) we were to play Barca and Ronaldo outdid Messi over two legs and Ronaldo won the WPOTY award it would be wrong as he only won it for 2 matches rather than Messi who was consistent throughout the year (What happenend to Ronaldo in 06/07 with Kaka)

Tommorow should be a win, With no Cahill or Screach we should win, See you there Matherto :))

Well it's another win, and at a canter as well. Would've liked to have seen us kick it up a notch and get the goal difference up, as it could definitely have happened, but in the end it was easy enough, and thats five points clear effectively, with the chance of it being seven/eight at a later date depending on tomorrows results.

Dunno what it was but Carrick was desperate for a goal today, must've been pissed off with being brought down for the penalty and decided he really wanted to be on the score sheet. I think it affected his passing in the end, cause he was fine in the first half, second half he was terrible.

Nice to see Rio back and he settled in straight away, and always good to see Ronaldo scoring again, regardless of whether it was a penalty or not. He actually looked bothered today as well.

Good seats as well, ten rows from the pitch in the north stand (where were you YG?), so all in all, a good day.

oh in that case you are right and i would agree with you. although id still argue that kaka had a good enough season to merit him being the best in 06/07.

besides, whos the better player.. the one that plays well all season and then chokes in the penultimate game or the one that plays decent all season and then steps it up to single handedly win a trophy for you? and to say kaka played decent is being a extremely harsh, he does it week in week out for milan.

yeah i thought ronaldo played his best match in ages, it seems like he finally got his head out of his ass.

He still wasn't great, still misplacing simple passes and stuff like that but I agree he was better than he has been.

Carrick was awesome though I thought. Really played the box-to-box role well, not sitting back and dictating the game from deep like he usually does. He should've won two penalties, the second one with Lescott was a foul as well but the ref bottled it having just given the first one.

If that had've been Scholes or Anderson in his place I dont think we'd have played so well.

Tevez and Berb seem to be linking well considering the language barrier etc. Might need to stick Wayne on the wing when he comes back!!!

Wazza will be slotted straight in,playing infront of Berba when he is fit.Tevez would be the one who will be shifted to the sides in place of Park.

-------Wazza---------
-Tevez-------Ronaldo-
-------Berba---------

We wont play all four of them, When we've tried it, it hasnt work and we also need options off the bench, unfortunetly for Tevez it will be him I can't see SAF giving him a regular spot until he's officially signed up but he was class yesterday,

Ronaldo played well IMO, He's gone to the role he had in 06/07 which is good so if he does hit form we'll see what he can really do!

Overall were 5 clear, with the other two playing today, hoping for a draw which would really be ours to throw away and (maybe) be enough of a lead to rest players before the CL tie(s)

Same, sat in the north stand on the right hand side near the Stretty. How fecking quite was the North though! without the Stretty it would have been silent. Overall it was a good game (He's crackin up, He's Craackin! Rafa's Crackin up!)

Ah fair doos. I was nearer the east stand, and aye the North was a library really, when they started the 'stand up for the champions' chant I was probably the only one in about 5,000 people who stood up, rediculous.

East stand seemed to bring the noise as well as the Stretty so at least we had them on either side.

Was definitely nice to hear everyone in the ground singing the 'cracking up chant' though :P

Nice to know you you continue your fine tradition of singing about us more than you sing about yourselfs.

Squeaky bum time? Still yours to lose IMO.

Well its the least we can do after overtaking you in the league.
:BOP:

^^ Agreed

Rafa lost the plot with his rant of Fergie and Gill it just smacks of Keegan-esque after he fell hook, line and sinker for Fergie's mind games back in the 90s. Having said that 2-5 points is not a big advantage we can still lose games that we should have won...

If Liverpool lose to Everton tomorrow surely it could go downhill from there.

the point is you've consistently sung about us more than you sing about your own players/acheivements.

The only other team that suffers from this bizzare obsession is the ifithadnabinfors

:OOOH:I don't know how you manage to come to this conclusion Peter, the crowd have been brilliant recently, even singing old crackers like the andy cole gets the ball scores a goal, and who put the ball in the german's net chants, The only chant solely aimed at the dippers in recent games is the Rafa's cracking up one.Fair do's you's lot get a mention in some others like Park's and Nev's.

Yeah that's crap, most of United's chants are about our team, history and players, bar the odd few. The Rafa one mainly got aired cos Everton were singing it too.

I tend to think it's all part of the banter and rivalry that songs get sung about each other.

And as Jumbo said, it only really got sung so much cause Everton were there, a lot of the time they started it.

Liverpool fans don't sing about us cause they're not clever enough to come up with chants :TTTH::P

Yeah aren't Liverpool's only songs YNWA, Steve Gerrard Gerrard and the somewhat genius "Liverpool Liverpool Liverpoooooooool, Liverpool Liverpool Liverpooooo-ool, Liverpool Liverpool Liverpoooooooool, Liv-er-pool, LIV-ER-POOL"

Ah yeah I remember how the Steve Gerrard Gerrard one goes.

'Steve Gerrard, Gerrard!
He's shit and he's fucking thick!
Not fit to suck Carrick's dick!
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard!'

Or at least, it should do.

i dont think its form at all, he doesnt take anybody on the way he did in that roma game. cant be confidence either because we know he has bags of that. its weird, someone should take him aside and show him that footage.

I think he's just become a bit complacent and too big for his boots.

He's been named the world's best player so he doesn't have to run at people like he did in 06/07 to try and prove to everyone he is that good.

Perhaps he'll just forget about his ego for a slight minute and try to be that good, not just think he's that good.
