Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

TG showing he knows NOTHING about football... I think a normal United would PISS all over a Normal Lyon.... you have only got to look at the players on both sides and just how GOOD they are when they are on their game!
:lmao:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

not sure
but anyway, the Man Utd vs Lyon is really poor by the both

Man utd with this level in next round, i don't put 1€ on

Who you gonna put your money on? Marseille? Oh I forgot, they got battered in the group matches.

How many French teams left in the Champions League now?

Give the same country fiscality and in few years you can see more French teams than English :SHHH:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Haha in your dreams Thomas! :SHHH:

nah not really he has a great point, go compare the budgets of marseille bourdeux and lyon to manu, chelsea, liverpool, and arse... its not even close. If given the same amount of funds i think you would see different results. United had three or more world class players on the bench, not all of the teams outside england have that luxury

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

If's & buts though mate. The harsh fact is that Ligue 1 players will always want to move on to La Liga, Serie A and The Premiership because of the higher wages. I think it will be a LONG time before we see a French club win the European Cup again. :)

i'd say arsenal has good chances to win this season....

oups, sorry, arsenal is an "english" team :-pp:LIE:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

 Even I forget sometimes! To be fair, they fielded ONE English player last night, even if it was late in the game!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

When was Arsenal ever 'English'?

Side news,Big Ben Foster is scheduled for a reserve game tonight.I hope he does well to cap off a great comeback from injury...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Yeah Ben needs the games, he will be a great keeper one day.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Ronaldo was for me "ok" in the first half but the 2nd he was poor but oviously got us that important goal, to be fair to him he did get a slight knock in the second and i thought he was gonna come off. Overall were through to the last 8 and can't ask for much more but i do fear if we back of against a somewhat "bigger" (no disrespect to lyon) team like Barca/Real/ they will punish us, one thing i liked though was Arsenal playing without any fear which i think we can't do because of the expectation's of our club which gets to player, anyway bring on Pompey on :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I think you lot will get Roma again next round.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Haha I thought that this morning! I'd rather them than Real Madrid.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

As a neutral, I would love to see United vs Roma. United's fast 'in your face' counter attacking football vs Roma's quick, one touch-give and go football.

Of course, just imagine the EPL without all the stars and without the best English players, you think English clubs can win a European cup ? :CONF:
It's just a question of money, the French club is based on the formation for young players.

Even with money, the English clubs don't dominate the European Cup. They dominated it in the late 70s-80s but haven't made such an impact since.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I don't think that any English club can actually win a cup without their foreign players. Which pretty much explains their national team's bad performance...

How many European Cups have French clubs won then Thomas? Have a think about it.

Anyway why did you take Marseille away from your profile? Don't support them anymore?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Hmm...My guess is Barca or Porto (if they get through)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

How can anyone predict who we'll draw?!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I heard somehow we COULD face Barca but I dont know how that works out.Real Madrid are out, beaten at home by Roma.Surprise,surprise.Chelski went through with a 3 nil rout and Schalke 04 qualified via penalties in place of Porto.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Looking forward to the FA Cup match against Portsmouth on Saturday, make a nice change from the stress of the league. I hope we rest Ronaldo, Ferdinand and Evra.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

So that means the last 8 are:

Manchester United
Arsenal
Chelsea
Schalke 04
Barcelona
AS Roma
Liverpool/Inter
Fenerbahce

Schalke or Fenerbahce would appear to be the 'easiest' teams to be drawn against, but it doesn't really matter because you've got to beat whoever you get anyway to win.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

I want Schalke without a doubt. Bar their keeper's heroics they looked average against a ten man Porto and are doing poorly domestically.

We all know that Chelsea will draw them though, they get all the luck with the draws this season. :(
