Manchester United Thread

I mean come on, how many clubs has Anelka played for so far?

Yeah, but how many of those have had Fergie as manager?

If anyone can sort out attitude problems then it's him. Mind you, whenever a player has an attitude problem at United, theyre usually off to the Bernabeu the season after.

But Anelka HAS been at the Bernabeu...hahaha..

What did I tell you lot?? We got Lyon!...I remember beating them a couple of season ago at their homeground with a brace from Ruud. Its in our advantage that we play away first then come back to OT to finish them off...I already see our place in the final 8.

Unfortunate to concede to Cahill, though he does well, easily outclimbing Evra. Started playing well right at the end of the half, but man is Howard Webb in the giving mood or what! Like half a dozen yellows in the first half alone! Plus anderson got one for asking for a yellow, which I applaud but lets see some consistency shall we? When Cahill does the same thing in the second half think he'll go off? Ha.

Feeling 2-1...can't decide which way it's going to fall though.

O'shea is so shit.... (no offence... but he is)

So is Senderos. Do you ever have anything intelligent to say?

In regards to the game today, I felt a bit sorry for Everton at the end, they didn't deserve to lose. We were not at our best today but as I said in the Arsenal thread yesterday, this is what Champions are made of - winning when you're not at your best. :)

We were shite for the first half, had no control of the game whatsoever.Carrick disappoints me largely, failing to dictate the game through the middle. We saw the change when Giggs played in the middle and our shape also changed for the better.I honestly thought we would eventually score the winner but the penalty was a bonus though.Credits to Ronaldo for the two goals especially that crucial penalty to give us 3 points on the night.

What has happened to carrick! I know he's clearly a confidence player, but seriously. He had another chance to show what he's worth today, and he was awful. No vision, no cutting balls, I don't get him. He's talented, but just not improving at all. Whereas Anderson looks comfortable in the middle after only a few months!

I worry that between Tevez and Rooney we have two great players as far as ideas and intentions go, but neither are reliable as finishers. A few times that match they should really have done better, either playing a telling ball or getting a shot on target. For all their endeavour, I'd still take Ruud... :)

There is the debate there beachryan...you see,Rooney and Tevez arent exactly finishers like Ruud. They are more of a SS(Second Striker) rather than a CF(Centre Forward)...Plus,Ruud is a one of a kind finisher who lives by his goals.Yes we miss him at times but his type of play can be easily countered these days.Like many here,I still prefer Tevez and Rooney for now.

yep which is what Arsenal did too.

O'Shea is world class! What are you lot talking about?

After the everton game,I am fully convinced that Tommy Kusczack is not good enough for United...His kicking is poor and his handling is mediocre at best.No wonder legend Peter Shilton said that the best goalkeeper in england is still out injured.Cant wait for Ben to grab the number 1 jersey from VDS next season.

Actually thought you deserved the win...just! we came for a draw which was obvious, any way congrats to man utd my tip for the title, arsenal good but its to soon for the young magicians, chelsea to finish 3rd...merry christmas man u mates!!!:)

I was equally impressed with how cool he was when taking that penalty. I cant remember having someone as confident in years. Even Ruud went through a period where he wasnt as confident as Ronaldo when stepping up.

So lads what striker do we need in January?

Berbatov, Anelka......

Come on, you know we need someone.

Also we are meant to be looking at eith Shorey or Lahm as Evra's cover.

How about Defoe? He's an out and out striker, and he doesnt sulk. He's been put on the bench for a couple of seasons now and just gets on with it and does his best. From what Ive seen of him he always looks threatening. And I dont bother with any england perfomances as everybody, including rooney, looks crap for them.

We have already signed a striker - Manucho. He will be eligible to play from Jan 1st (next Tuesday). :)
