Manchester United Thread

Thank God Mourinho hasn't said anything stupid. Yet.

But still, the Arsenal-Chelsea result was overshadowed for me by this one. :mryellow:

for u mate QUOTES from Mourinho;

The reality is that the Premiership is over," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "United are first and Chelsea are second. It's over. What matters is the team with the most points."

"I have to congratulate the champions, their players, fans, manager and board, everyone who makes them champions.
When asked if the best team won the league, he said something along the lines of "It doesnt matter, what matters is who had the most points which mathematically makes them the best."
Which basically tells me he still thinks his side are the best in the country.

Yeah, the BBC journalist who interviewed him said something along the lines of "when asked, he couldn't bring himself to say that the best team had won the league, he just said that all that mattered was the team that had the most points won the Premiership", meaning that he just cannot accept defeat.

Seriously, I've got books here written about the guy after all of the fuss made of his appointment at Chelsea, and I feel like burning them with the way he's acted. There's arrogance, there's stubbornness, there's stupidity and then there's José.

Manchester United were the better team over the duration of a long hard season and that is the end of it (again, if someone who follows Liverpool can say that, he should be able to; he's a professional for God's sake).

CHAMPIONS!!! This 9th title has got to be the sweetest bearing in mind how much we change the team over the last couple of years and how much Chavski tried to dominate the league.Hats off to them for retaining it last season. We are still the only club to retain it 3 seasons in a row! Still having the biggest haul with 9 since the Premiership started.

I am really happy for the kids and happy for those who came to United looking for silverware.Ronaldo, Rooney, Rio, Carrick, Smith, VDS, Vidic, Heinze, Evra, Park, Kuszczak, Saha,Silvestre...the academy kids, Fletcher, Brown, O'Shea, Richardson and not forgetting the 4 Kings of OT, Neville, Giggs, Scholes and Solkskjaer.Last but not least, lets bow down to the living legend Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

This title brings back the romance of the EPL for me.I'm so used to us winning it since 1993 until Blackburn stole it from us in 1995,Arsenal in 1998 and 2002...then in came Chavski with their dirty Russian money and a cunt of a manager,in 2004 and 2005.We can still dominate it in this new era and will still go on dominating for many many years to come.United All The Way.

I'm afraid to inform you and your prawn-eating-sandwich friends alike that Liverpool have also retained the league title for 3 seasons in a row (1981-1982, 1982-1983, 1983-1984) also by looking at the dates you can see we did it before you as well. I understand that (especially in Manchester) like to pretend that top flight football didn't exist until 1992 but if your going to post then at least try to get the facts right. Anyway (through gritted teeth) you mancs are worthy of the title this season, thats 16 now is it? 2 more to go and 3 European cups to be named the most successful club in Britain.

and that is why he said, since the premiership started.

WELL DONE UTD!

who said sir alex was going mad selling nistelrooy and buying carrick? who said he should be sacked?

Congrats, well played. Even though I am not really a Man U supporter, you guys certainly deserved this title. You were the best team in the league throughout the season.

Which of my facts are wrong Mo Dinero?? I am talking about the Premiership and we won it first when it started.I do fancy prawn sandwiches at times mate but I dont get why peeps are still eating sour grapes.Dont they have fresh grapes in Merseyside?

Something that I find interesting is the Glazer's involvement in all this. When they took over there was absolute uproar, and Man Utd lost fans over it (although you wonder if they might start crawling back now :mryellow:). But today, Man Utd chief executive David Gill has come out and said that the Glazers aided the push for the title.

What do Man Utd fans think of the Glazers now? Glad they took over, wish that they'd fuck off or undecided?

I was never really arsed who owned the club as it became a money making business as soon as it became a plc. If Glazer needs to keep making money to pay off the debt, he'll have to keep the club successful and that's good enough for me. I'm not sure I'd have enjoyed this season as much if we had unlimited funds to buy anyone like Chelsea. It just makes it feel like more of an achievement.
I'm sure most people are surprised at how well we've done considering all the turmoil from last summer.
This season has been fucking great!
