Manchester United Thread

You (once again) got lucky with this result.. if it wasn't for Southampton's awful defending on Ruud's goal, it would have ended in a draw.

I'd be more concerned about the 2 goals you let in than the result.
 
scrappy match, and im getting worried, this is second scrappy match consecutively in the prem now, cmon utd!

We have'nt played well for a month now, but at least we picked up the points. the defence looked shocking today, gary neville should shore that up, and with giggsy back , scholes can go back in the centre of midfield where he's at his most effective and phil can have a rest cause he's been poor recently.

The third goal was blatantly offside, and Southampton definetly deserved at least a point. They closed down United, and played some good football at times. I lost count of the amount of times Ormerod and Phillips forced the Manure defence to make a mistake by putting the defence under pressure. Ormerod and Phillips missed sitters, and Beattie had a chance. Wes Brown looked poor, he is not adequate cover for Rio.

maaan, its you peopel (stasman) who make me sick... noticed yo usaid he IS not adequate... WHAT THE FUCK! hes played all of 3 fucking matches and you think he ISNT adequate? you have yet to see him play for another 8 months!!! and what about the missed penals? barber was far from a good match referee...and please, the night was FULL of deflected gols :roll:

Looks like Daniel Van Buyten has joined Citeh on loan for the rest of the season! I thought we were after him??! Whats goin on? Maybe he got mixed up between Utd and Citeh,and joined them by mistake!! He would be great at United,after looking at yesterdays game,our defence is quite shaky without Rio,maybe it needs time too...
 
Only saw highlights but Saha looked good. PLayed a nice through pass to Scholesy who sent it just wide, and his all round passing and stuff seemed good too. Maybe he will be able to fill the whole Andrew Cole left in my heart....

saha was masterfull, like i said the ref blew two blatant penalties, game should have been 5-2, ruud might have been offside, but when he was one on one an headed it he was not offside, so it was a makeup call...

No, you make me sick. What makes you think he is good enough to cover for Rio, who has been in sensational form this season? He kept trying to calmly pass it, but instead kept giving it away. He made no end of mistakes.

hmm has anyone noticed? when we go after louis saha, EVERYONE starts attacking us, saying that we were attacking smaller clubs like fulham, and bullying them just because we lost to them... and look at chelski with parker!! same situation, (safe the addick victory on chelski was much sweeter :D) and NOBODY SAYS A THING about THEM being bullies!! that just goes to show, people who hated man utd would do anything to make us look bad...

Very fookin lucky!!

Tbh it was our woeful defending that let southampton back in the game but they played well.

We needed a win so I wasnt arsed how we did it just wanted the points, okay I was/am arsed how we do it but waiting for us win and play well is obviously too much to ask this season so im glad we're at least getting points.

Saha's debut was very good, it was good to see a forward who could play aswell as do the simple things like trap the ball (you watchin forlan!!). I can see him and Ruud playing well together.

How Phillips missed that cross I don't know. Still I guess overall you probably deserved it, what with Fernandes' 'save' and all!! WTF was he up to? Muppet.

One of the better games I've seen this season though.

That one and our game against Charlton have been two of the best.

I thought Scholes save was just as good, made himself big giving the striker a smaller area to aim at. Fernandes made me laugh when he went ballastic cause it wasn't given. Footballers are such hypocrites.

It wasn`t our best performance, but Saha`s debut was good, he will show his critics why Fergie was so interested in him, I`m sure.
As for the Saints, well, we had revenge from Saint Mary`s, we got the 3 points and had 2 penalty decisions not awarded to us. At the end of the day, the Saints should have stuck away the chances they had. They didn`t, we won, we get the 3 points - its that simple in football (most of the time).

We have to win, win and win to stay hot on the heels of them Gooners.
