20 years old plays for Sevilla. Scored 24 goals in 82 appearances, 3 Spanish caps, rumours say 24million. Haven't seen him play personally but Wenger raves over him and for us to spend that much on one player he must be good.

I think it was the leftovers from the finance for the stadium. I just aint expecting anyone new in the summer, maybe a new defender but that would be it.

Cant believe the coolmoor mafia! apparantly the've tabled 63 questions to the board in writing that they want answering, and one of them is why are we paying rios wages if he's banned by the F.A. and cant play.

I just got my United V Middlesbrough ticket! Can`t wait, have never seen Boro play, and we should kill `em on our own turf! Wednesday, Feb 11th here we come . . .

A Very strong United reserve team is turning out at my local non league club , tomorrow night, one which Phil Neville coaches and trains with to get his coaching badges. In Aid of a local lad and Rossendale Utd Steward, also a massive Reds fan who was murdered last year. all the proceeds are going to charity.Maybe Saha will get a run out in red.

Lads, them Gooners have landed Jose Antonio Reyes! Gawd, this kid is superior that our Ronaldo in my eyes...this kid has got mad skills and an amazing technique, can be better than that diving french man in their team, hope he sees that he has made i mistake in joining them,haha...

SIR Alex Ferguson today secured a lucrative new United deal that will make him £1.5m-a-year richer.

The most successful manager in Old Trafford history has signed a one-year rolling contract that will start when his current agreement runs out in the summer of 2005.

But the 62-year-old Scot is to get his pay rise immediately, putting him on an annual salary of more than £3.5m.

The arrangement does, however, not mean that United have caved into the demands of the club's largest shareholders, John Magnier and JP McManus, who are locked in a bitter battle with the club and manager.

It had been reported that the Irish racing magnates were pressurising United into the rolling deal rather than a fixed-term contract.

But - as revealed in M.E.N. Sport yesterday - the flexible contract was always the one favoured by both the United hierarchy and Ferguson, and that has formed the basis of discussions for months.

Ferguson wanted the one-year rolling deal to avoid the scenario they suffered in 2002, when United lost their focus and the title after he announced he was going to retire.

Delight

Shareholders United are delighted that Ferguson's future has been secured.

"We are pleased that Sir Alex has signed," said spokesman Sean Bones.

"We feel he deserved a three-year deal but if the manager has got the contract and he's happy then so are we.

"We just need to stand together and keep the amazing momentum going."

Your not wrong there, Ronaldo looked out his depth against Northampton never mind anywhere else. One trick pony. Reyes is far superior to him, I've saw a bit of Reyes, probably more than what I've seen of Ronaldo to be fair and he looks far better.

What are you on about? Out of his depth? That is crap. Ronaldo is going to be something special - its funny how you guys expect him to produce amazing goods in his first season at Old Trafford. Have you seen any games when he played for Sporting? Did you see the one against Manchester United in the pre-season friendly`s? He was outstanding. Why? Because he was settled at Sporting, he had been there a while. Now, England, the Premiership and a completley different ball-game (No pun intended) and it will take him a while to gel. He was brilliant against Northampton, you just want him to be shite, `cause its United.

That's not the only reason, he has stupid hair and falls over all the time as well, that's why we want him to be shit. ;)

Pires falls over all the time, and is a friggin` hunch-back. But I don`t want him to be shite, cause I ain`t jealous of Arsenal. No need to be.

Ahh fuck em' ninja, Ronaldo might be a world beater he might end up shite at least we've taken a risk in finding a superstar of the future, thats what footballs all about.

people if ya want a pires vs ronaldo discussion go do it somewhere else. this is the united thread and if you gooners are gona start arguments ya gooner (ged it ;) ) get yaselves booked.

Thats what United are all about. We don`t sign burnt-out, overated, 27 year old + players that don`t perform when they get here.
