Well Jol says Carricks not for sale.

Mascherano was great also, did'nt notice him which is what being a great DMF is all about.

I'm even harder to notice. Does that make me better?

Hahahaha..I think Dead Man means that he rarely sees Mascherano cross his own half to join the attack. He dosent need to,Riquelme is doing all that.Cambiasso is the one doing the linking up between the defence and the midfield.I personally think that Argentina has the best midfield trio in Riquelme(Attack),Cambiasso(Central) and Mascherano(Defence).

Yea they do.

Mascherano was great. Only 21 also

The Spanish press is announcing today that Manchester United and Atlético de Madrid might have an agreement to sign Fernando Torres in exchange of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and money:

RNV + 21M€ <--> Fernando Torres.

The player has other options (Liverpool, Milan), but United is a more attractive destination for Torres and AC Milan already have Inzaghi and Gilardino, so Torres would have a hard time to make it to the starting 11.

Personally I think Atlético would have a great deal, Torres would go to a great club, and United would sign a fast and reliable young class striker.

...and lose a lot of money too. I'm ok with the exchange but thats too much money on top.

definitely too much for an unproven in the prem too. He could be a flop. When has a Spanish striker been any good in another country? I can't think of one. If we have signed him, I hope he's the exception.

Jose Mari was decent, the worst was Javi Moreno. He was top scorer in Spain, went to Milan and scored like 4 goals, then I think he moved to Bolton where he flopped as well.

Keano retired today from football, on medical advice.

What can you say about this guy, a true legend and possibly the greatest player United has ever had (dont argue look at the medals!).

Keano we salute you!!

I still feel bad about him not being able to play the final against Bayern Munich. I always thought we owed him big time, but sadly we couldnt deliver.

I know we seem to be linked with everyone under the sun lately, but what do you guys think of Appiah?
For me he was the engine for Ghana's midfield (which allowed Essien more freedom to push forward), and seemed to cover every blade of grass.

I know it was only one game, but it reminded me of the Keano of old...

Plus he might be slightly cheaper (therefore less pressure) than Diarrhoea - sorry - Diarra & Carrick. ;)

Appiah with Juve was mediocre. Made lots of mistakes.

I didn't like him at Juve or Parma to be honest, though he seemed good last night. In Italy he had to fit into the team, though I guess the Ghana NT is pretty much built around him & Essien.

Maybe he's just another Kleberson - just can't play well at a club side!

Thanks for the input though

I personally hope we don't get him. I dont think he's worth that much and dont think he'd score over 20 goals a year.

I think he'd suit the Prem more tbh, but I agree £25mill for him seems too much.

I am sure we all dont like to eat back our words but Nando Torres looked pretty good against Ukraine.Very hardworking and got a goal to cap his fine performance off.Lets see how he does in the next game.

that a pop at me? I don't need to eat my words. I said that he didn't look that special. I never said he played badly or didn't look a good player. He certainly didn't look like a £25 million player, which is why I said, 'he didn't look that special'

I hope he does play well. especially if we're going to buy him. But for 25 million you'd expect a Rooney or Ronaldinho.
