Oh. Forgot about those f*ckers. Its their fault this whole thing happened in the first place.

As for the TV rights thing, IMO its only the begining of things to come. Glazer is probably gonna use every dirty trick in the book to raise cash.
I heard you get loads of money if you sell the rights of naming Old Trafford.

Its the fault of the board that allowed United to become a PLC and then market themselves in the US, if you are going to blame anyone.

Thats what i mean how the club is run!

I heard a worrying rumour that he will split from Sky tv for the rights and sell them himself therefore making more money but surley this would mean the downfall of alot of smaller clubs who wouldnt have the support to sell there own tv rights?

not sure if this is correct but i read that at least 14 of the premiership clubs have to vote in favour of changing the tv rights from a collective deal to individual deals, if this is true then i think it's highly unlikely that glazier will be able to break away from sky, the collective deal was put in place by rick parry when the premier league was set up to protect the interests of the smaller clubs

there's only united, liverpool, arsenal, chelsea and maybe 3 or 4 other clubs who have the fanbase to make individual deals worthwhile, the rest will struggle without the guaranteed money from a collective deal so i just can't see it happening

But if it wasnt a PLC we wouldnt be as rich today. A lot of shareholders are Man U fans and Man Utd have gained a lot of money from them.
Its a simple idea that worked. The fans buy the shares, Man U then spend the money to succeed, the fanbase increases, new fans buy more shares, and the loop goes on and on. Which is one of the reasons why we continue to travel all over the globe because we want more fans to support us.
Now if we werent a PLC, we wouldnt have had the money to spend on things that we normally do like the players we buy or the recent plans to expand Old Trafford or the great training facilities or this new Entertainment/Casino centre thingy that we're making near Old Trafford or gain more money.
I know you cant have a PLC without expecting a takeover but we probably wouldnt be where we are now if we werent a PLC.

What do you think of him?
I think he's great.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

He took the finishes in that game very well, I hope next season SAF will give him more playing time in the Carling Cup and early stages of FA Cup maybe

Id love to see him figure in todays game, but thats unlikely

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

The Nike Arena
Malcolm Glazer will infuriate Manchester United even more by renaming their beloved Old Trafford the Nike Arena. Glazer's loathed £790million takeover of United is saddled with £500m debts and the controversial American has to sell the naming rights to the famous stadium to pay the banks. United would probably get an annual £15m for dropping the Old Trafford name and replacing it with a sponsor's logo.
Steve Millar, Daily Star Sunday
What did I tell you guys. I knew this would happen.

'His way or the highway'
Malcolm Glazer's sisters last night warned Sir Alex Ferguson: 'Do it his way or it's the highway.'Marcia Shapiro, 79, and Jeanette Goldstein, 83, claimed new Manchester United owner Glazer would "buy players, sell players, raise ticket prices and do whatever will make him money." Mrs Shapiro said: Sir Alex Ferguson will do Malcolm's bidding or he won't be managing the team."
Steve Morgan, Daily Star Sunday
This is how its gonna be for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time now.

Gunnar's a goner
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could find himself in an awkward spot once Manchester United's new majority shareholder Malcolm Glazer moves in. The Norwegian, battling back to fitness after a career-threatening injury, has been such an outspoken critic of any individual taking control of the club's that he's been invited to become chairman of a breakaway club. But the heat is on Solskjaer, also a member of pressure group Shareholders United, as he is a highly-paid employee of Manchester United plc.
John Richardson, Daily Express
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There are some good news to come out of this.

United to call in FIFA over Mikel
Manchester United and Norwegian club FC Lyn Oslo are preparing to file and official complaint with FIFA tomorrow in an escalation of the tug-of-war with Chelsea over Nigerian teenager John Obi Mikel. The Norway FA have contacted Obi and the agents with him in London to demand he returns to Lyn and fulfils his contract. If Chelsea fail to contact the Norwegian club they will face a FIFA investigation into their conduct and the roles of agents Rune Hauge, Jerome Anderson and John Shittu in the row. Chelsea believe that Lyn had no right to sell Obi to Manchester United last month because of a contract the player had with Hauge.
Mark Ryan, Mail on Sunday
Looks like even Lyn Oslo are against Chelsea so Mikel should be ours.

Glazer: Go get me Beckham
Malcolm Glazer is prepared to bankroll a dramatic bid to bring David Beckham back to Old Trafford. The American tycoon will give Sir Alex Ferguson the final say, but The People understands the Glazer camp is keen for the England skipper to join the new Old Trafford regime. And the idea might be tempting for Becks, who is trying to raise his own personal profile in the United States. Glazer, of course, will be desperate to promote United in his own Amercian market. And he knows Beckham is the ONLY footballer to warrant a mention in the US media. Fergie would not entertain the idea of re-signing Becks if he thought it was just a marketing gimmick. But privately, Fergie has told friends that there are no hard feelings between him and Beckham - despite the saga of the flying boot and the player's departure for Spain. Indeed, Beckham has recently paid tribute to Fergie's role in his career.
Andy Dunn, The People
I think this could work for us. We can have a 4-3-3 with Ruud or Rooney up front, Giggs, Rooney or Ronaldo on the wings, and then have Keane Scholes and Beckham in the center. I bet Ruud would be hammering them in again in no time.

Injury rules out Henry and Reyes
Arsene Wenger was dealt a devastating FA Cup Final blow last night when Thierry Henry and Jose Antonio Reyes limped out of training. And both Arsenal superstars are major doubts for Saturday's showdown with Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Indeed, Henry - who has only just returned to action following a five-match lay-off with a groin injury - told team-mates his season was over. Reyes, who took a heavy kick on his ankle at Highbury in midweek, felt a problem in a session at Arsenal's training ground ahead of the Gunners' Premiership finale at Birmingham today.
Jack Steggles, The People

Alex to Piq top kids for Europe
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to promote his latest crop of Fergie Fledglings. Players in the frame for next season include Italian-American striker Giuseppe Rossi, 18, central defender Gerard Pique, 18, and 20-year-old midfielder David Jones, captain of the reserves. "Rossi will score goals at any level," predicted Fergie. "While Pique is another who has done well. I'll be looking at my squad of 25 for Europe next season and who goes in it. We have some very promising lads who you'll be hearing about in the future."
Paul Hetherington, Daily Star Sunday
Metallica, your wish has been answered.

Roman out to snatch FA Cup
Roman Abramovich is ready for a new battle with Manchester United this week - to buy the most expensive football trophy in the world. Chelsea may have failed in the FA Cup on the pitch this season, but their billionaire owner wants to acquire the oldest surviving version of the old Tin Pot when it comes up for auction on Thursday. It is the FA Cup presented to victorious clubs between 1897 and 1911, with United likely to be among the bidders because it was the first ever trophy the club won.
Jim Holden, Daily Star Sunday

Heard that one too. But also heard that Glazer wants to keep him.
I was just wondering, why are Real Madrid after all the england players?
They have been linked with Rio, Lampard, Gerrard and Ashley Cole.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

sorry all... my bloody country isnt broadcasting this match at all today... any chance one of you can tell me what formation we're playing that supports the likes of smith ruud and rooney... with fortune fletcher and giggs?

... 4-5-1 again?

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Its a minute to halftime just as I post this.Current scoreline is 1-1.Soton scored first thru a sloppy won goal by O'Shea from an inswinging corner by Le Saux.United then bounced back and got a goal off from a superb move.A string of passes before the ball was pushed to O'Shea on the left and he swong in a cross onto the oncoming Darren Fletcher, who finished it off with a brilliat header.Halftime from The St' Marys..its all square.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

The formation was kinda strange.
We had Brown at right back, O'Shea at left back, Rio and Mikael in the center. But up front we had Ruud and GIGGS!?!?! in striker with Rooney, Smith, Fortune and Fletcher shuffling positions all over midfield. But IMO it worked.
The game was so open. Would have been perfect for Ronaldo but sadly he didnt even make the bench.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

bloody... this weekend's results is the type of stuff we wanted this season. chelski draw, arse lose... cmon united, on to cardiff.

Is this true?

If it gets you £15million every year, why wont he do it?

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Glazer better not screw this up! Solskjaer leaving, renaming Old Trafford, sacking Fergie and trying to buy Beckham are the type of things that are really going to get people angry. I hope they're all just rumors.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Nice Rossi vid.
I remember his first Man Utd goal, scored it from a very tight angle.
Fergie says that Rossi is probably one of the coolest players in the penalty area at Man Utd.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

I watch most reserve games and I'm definately sure that Rossi will play in the first team next season cuz he's too good to miss out.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Brilliant Rossi video. His first goal is phenomenal.Superb dribbling skills, quick feet and an eye for goals. He should make the step up next season. He is truly a number 10 type of player.I'm updating his stats at my WELE8.I noticed he points his fingers to the heavens ala Kaka after he scores!...a lil off topic..but what brand of boots does he wears?

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Some nice skills there, if he continues like this he maybe on his way to real lol, if he continues i'm sure he might break into the first team, united off course

Yeah he does that Kaka celebration all the time. Not sure what boots he wears though. But I'll let you know once I find out.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Did anyone read Tony Cascarino's article in The Game today? I think it sums up the Glazer situation quite nicely;

"Welcome the rich investor
By Tony Cascarino

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A BIG deal would be such a big deal? Right now everyone’s just dealing in speculation. Deep breath: I don’t believe this takeover is necessarily a bad thing for Manchester United. I’m not a mystic but nor am I a doom-monger. I’m not pro-Malcolm Glazer, but I don’t know anyone who’d spend £800 million on a business and plan to run it into the ground. It’s logical to assume that Glazer wants what every United supporter wants: on-pitch success. That’s the key to his off-pitch profits.
Negativity stalks this story from all sides. I can’t quite figure out why. Sir Alex Ferguson was expected to have virtually no money to spend this summer; now I read that he’ll have up to £20 million plus any money raised from transfers. That could be crucial, because without significant investment it’s hard to see United bettering this season’s third place in 2005-06.

Bracket Glazer with Roman Abramovich and Mohamed Al Fayed at Fulham. One by one, the foreign billionaires are coming. They, not plcs, are the future of top-flight football. It costs up to £1 million a year to list a big club as a plc — and what’s the point? Being a plc didn’t exactly do Leeds United any favours. Manchester United’s board is more responsible than that of Leeds, but at times Ferguson has had one hand tied behind his back because the management have restricted his transfer spending. Being forced by the rules to announce your strategies and intentions to your shareholders, as plcs are, doesn’t exactly help you to steal a march on the competition in such a cloak-and-dagger business as football, either.

The reaction of some fans smacks of naivety. United not for sale? Clubs are always for sale. Fans like to think that, at root, they own their teams because a club is nothing without its lifelong supporters. Emotional investment doesn’t appear on any balance sheet, though. In reality, their love is an asset to be exploited and they have the power only to save a club, not to run it. Fans say “we” when they talk about their sides. It’s a nice delusion. Clubs belong to the fans all right, when they’re bust and the directors come shaking their buckets and begging for money to save “your” club. Funny how, when clubs are doing well, the money tends to end up in the pockets of the directors. Cynical business, football.

United fans moan that Glazer will increase ticket prices. Maybe he will, but they have enjoyed an incredible deal for years watching premium football at a bargain price. Average price of a ticket at Chelsea? £40-odd. At United? Just £25. Wayne Rooney wasn’t a third cheaper because he moved to Manchester not London. His wages don’t come with a special North West discount. United followers complain about the level of debt in Glazer ’s bid, but debt is normal in all sectors of business. Arsenal are borrowing about £260 million to build their new stadium, and their revenue streams will never be as big as United’s. Yet you don’t see their fans manning the barricades.

Glazer’s arrival was a logical conclusion. Treat a football club as an investment property, watch it make money and someone will want to invest. If it wasn’t Glazer, it would have been someone else. Michael Knighton almost bought a majority shareholding for £10 million in 1989. So in 16 years, United’s value has soared. Who’s to say they won’t be worth even more in 2021? At least Glazer is a smart businessman with a track record of achieving sporting success. It’s not as if profiting from United is a new phenomenon: Martin Edwards pocketed £41 million from selling his stake in United to city institutions in 1999.

But Glazer’s somehow different. He’s an American, he doesn’t talk, he doesn’t know anything about football. A passion for the club doesn’t surge through his veins. Well, Mark Goldberg loved Crystal Palace, and look what happened. Put a millionaire fan in charge of a football club and they act like a dazed child. They lose their heads and their money. Glazer will make cool, rational decisions. That he didn’t spend his youth in the Stretford End is, in fact, a point in his favour.

You can imagine the protests had Abramovich bought United. Fans would have demanded to know: who is this shady Russian? Perhaps they’d have boycotted vodka. Chelsea fans were initially very concerned. Abramovich didn’t know much about football when he bought Chelsea. He still doesn’t. But he surrounded himself with people who know the game and success, and the adulation of the supporters followed. All most fans want is glory. Glazer knows it and will bust a gut to bring it. If he does, then he should be OK and the majority of United’s followers will accept him and wonder what all the hysteria was about."

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

Thats sort of what I said earlier. Glazer wouldnt buy United if he was gonna ruin it. Which idiot pays £780million just to destroy a club?
Glazer will need to repay his debts that he can only do that if Man Utd is run successfully.

I hope this explains why its in United's best interest if we all support Glazer.

Re: It's not our club anymore!! F*ck Glazier!! MUFC RIP 2005

I'd pay £780 million to ruin Man Utd.:D Just joking - Glazer has the Far East/global market in mind and will surely profit in the long run from the cash cow that is Utd. Some people have suggested making a new club, but there will always be other supporters to take their season tickets.

But its not just about how many goals Rossi scores. Its how he scores them and how many he creates for others. He has scored many individual goals and has created chances for others too. His passing is really good too. And the fact that he's been playing like this for us since his debut in a testimonial match at the age of 16 is amazing.
Everyone who regularly watches him play ask "Why isnt he in the first team?"
In terms of skill and talent, he's probably one of the best players at Man Utd.
BWP is nowhere near as good as him.
