Manchester United Thread

Police investigation has no evidence on any of the players involved, so I don't see this going any further but its certainly not something you want your name linked to.

Mhiki and Ibra should be confirmed by the end of the week, great business with those two bolstering our stale attack.

bigger issue at hand is the Wayne Rooney problem, he really needs to be moved on or relegated indefinitely to the bench.

And Mhiki is?

Googled and all i got was Fellaini and brother at Mahiki night club bust up :/

Ibra has confirmed. Interesting.

Think he'd be best as a 10, but no idea how you fit him, Rooney and Mata into a team. It would practically be standing still.

Rooney will unfortunately be deployed in CM. Mata will warm the bench or be sold, his time is up.

We'll line up like this

Rooney--Morgan/Bastian/Carrick--
Mkhitaryan---Ibrahimovic---Martial

with the 3rd CM to be a signing we haven't made yet.

Re: Manchester United Thread

Dreading Rooney playing in CM but I'm hoping Mourinho sees sense.

Bad transfer.

Unless he replaces Rooney. Then I'm down.

Not a huge Ibra fan personally, but our only true striker is 18 and has played like 10 matches at senior level, so I've no problem with some experience in the squad.

As if Ibra will let it rest at that ;)

Went googling Renato Sanches hoping for any bids from United as he looked very impressive and energetic so far, and apparently we've missed out and he's already gone to Bayern :(

Yeah we were heavily linked with him before he chose Bayern, can see why, would be a good signing for us.

I honestly think we'll still struggle if we have Rooney in midfield with the likes of Carrick or Bastian. not sure even a Kante could support the legs for two.

Re: Manchester United Thread

I feel with Schneiderlin and Blind we could have the making of a perfect midfield partnership if given the chance

Definitely feel Schneiderlein needs to be given a chance. He was excellent at Southampton, one of the best in the league. Wouldn't be the only play looking poor under LVG!

Dortmund have confirmed we've also signed Mhikitaryan. Odd signing, I've checked all the stats and WhoScored ratings and he is superb on there, on of the best in Europe. But, I've seen a lot of him in CL/EL over the past few seasons, and he has always felt like a really poor decision maker to me. Obviously his numbers stack up and he's the right age, but anyone watch him enough to comment?

Looks like big Ed had gone from having Mendes on speed dial 1 to replacing him with Raiola. I personally don't think Pogba is worth a world record transfer despite his undeniable talent, but do we start getting a discount when we're buying 3 from one agent? ;)

playing from the right picking the ball up a little deeper and cutting in or with pace running at defenders is something we've lacked from that side.

:))

Regarding Morgan definitely could do with a fresh start I agree as could Depay and Darmien I think would work better in a Mourinho team.

Just 2 years of signings!
--------------Romero-----------------
-Darmian----Rojo----Bailley---Shaw---
-----Schneiderlein-Schewini----------
--Depay------Mhikitaryan----Martial--
----------------Ibra-----------------

Insane.

Mourinho adding likes of Robben to his list of academy graduates

edit:
“After intensive discussions, BVB has complied to the wish of the Armenian national team member; to join the fifth-place English team last season, Manchester United, for the new season.

“Borussia Dortmund wishes Henrikh Mkhitaryan all the best for the coming season in both the Premier League and in the Uefa Europa League,”

BVB really butthurt about losing players this year

Yeah they made similar statement with Gundogon. I don't blame them to be honest, losing 3-4 of your best players in one window would piss off anyone.

Jose was one point yesterday in his presser.

Key points being Rooney in midfield experiment has died thankfully and he'll be tasked to perform in a specific forward role at 10 mostly I imagine or struggle to get minutes.

The four 'priorities' are well on course with us having wrapped up three and either Pogba or Matuidi being the fourth and he's pretty confident that will be wrapped up in a couple weeks so we can then have the first team settled going into pre season however obviously other signings may occur, they just won't be ones for the best 11 which makes sense.

:)) All looking good so far.

Proofs in the pudding. Jose was fine yesterday, but LVG was pretty great at conferences at the start.

That said, securing Bailley, Ibra, Mhikitaryan and X by mid July will be far better than any summer under Woodward so far.

Personally really hope it's not Blaise Matuidi. While his name is amazing, I've never been that impressed by him. I think I'd look pretty decent in a midfield with Veratti and the other PSG folk. Whatever happened to Kondogbia? I thought he was the best midfielder in France the season before last, really really wanted him. I dont' see Matuidi as that much better than Schnederlein.

All he did was reverted his sacking at Chelsea to Arsene's attack ( it's the same tune over and over) then went on about LVG useless philosophy . He sounded like a politician w/ his 49 youth players he brought out to top flight. I'd say , he is very busy spending Mutd's open check book. I admire that to a certain degree.

Matuidi is awesome!

Never stops running, endless energy, incredible stamina, good left foot and better technically than most give him credit for. On top of that, he's professional, tactically disciplined and a total team player as opposed to an individual.

Interesting, not an opinion I've seen much - but I don't watch much Ligue Un. Personally with the $ being thrown around with Pogba, I'd much prefer the Matuidi fee and type of player. Not convinced superstars ever work out at United, and we need that physical, 'water-carrier' more than technical wizard imo.

Anyway, crazy summer already.

Pogba is not what you think though his stats are average . He`s like Curry of the NBA marketing wise lol. The world loves Curry and I don`t watch NBA but I know Curry .

Mutd-Pogba-EPL (The Euro is making it amplified too)

or

Leicester-Vardy-EPL. What's more promotable ?

Matuidi is an excellent, excellent player! I completely agree with PLF on this one. United would be lucky to have a midfielder of his quality. He's only a water-carrier player in terms of his attitude (which is a good thing). He is a Mourinho-type player through and through.

Don't really rate Matuidi that much. Average touch and average pass

But every squad needs a hard working athletic player like him and 20m in today's market is peanuts

With Schneiderlin, Bastian, Fellaini, Carrick, Rooney Utd's midfield lacks mobility so it'd make sense.

Could they get him and Pogba or is Matuidi the backup option? Sneaky feeling Mourinho wants both.
