Manchester United Thread

Playing great first against Spurs and now especially at a place we normally suck is definitively confidence boosting but we still have a tough schedule ahead. It's beautiful though to finally see the positive effects of the position play Van Gaal likes. Rooney and Di Maria were rather poor today however, but I guess we shouldn't expect any different from our captain when playing at Anfield.Hopefully we can keep it going!

Alot of positives today. Just a bit disappointed we couldnt take more of an advantage against a 10 man team again

Nsty frm Skrtl. Deserves a ban that, knew what he was doing.

However, wish Valencia had let Rojo square up to him. Now that would be a fight worth watching.

Totally deliberate this, slows down when he realises he can't get the ball, then follows through. Hate this so much, De Gea is completely defenseless.

For a big man like Skrtl, it's so cowardly. If I were Valencia I would have ended Skrtl, take the ban on the chin.

50m for Sterling? Don't make me laugh! Lad can't pass the ball.
On the Left side Sterling is valued at £50m , on the right he's (plank) £3m. He needs to play next to Coutinho and stop throwing balls in lol.
I over heard a Pool fan says 'Suarez is gone and why are we playing like he hasn't left?!' The most influential player in the squad is Coutinho imo . I say build around him.

You have to watch this delude bloke! :LMAO:

Great to see a win against Liverpool at Anfield. Hopefully this will build-up for the next matches against City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Kinda sad to have the International Break in between. Hope none of the boys will come back injured and this break won't make us lose the concentration and teamwork we've had so far.

This x1000.

International breaks are bloody stupid, and will someday make way more a sensible solution, such as doing qualifying in batches over a Christmas break or the summer.

Continually interrupting domestic leagues is crazy. Especially that first break, which is like 1 week into European domestic leagues.

Is there anyone more wonderful for us in a schadenfreude way than Gerrard's last twelve months?

We were great again, lets just keep this formation and style up for the rest of the season.

I fecking love beating Liverpool, doubly so for the second time this season and at Anfield.

ManCity aren't on the same page... Pelligrini can't even get his players subbed off. How you thing bloody training is going to be like Pelligrini n Serrano running laps . It's a meltdown!!! Pelligrini might get sacked at the weekend.

Yeah I suspect you'll beat us, to take back 3rd but Pelegrini is a deadman walking, his sacking is inevitable.

Unfortunately, with Pep being unavailable and our upper echelon wanting only a certain type of manager, I don't think it is inevitable - at least not if we don't collapse and finish 5th.

The derby is huge for us now. I would still be confident if I could pick the team but I have zero confidence in MP to do the smart thing and flood the midfield and take Carrick out of the match.
The one thing that gives us an advantage, forgetting our recent results at OT, is that I still think Utd are vulnerable to technically gifted intelligent forwards, as was seen vs Arsenal, and if nothing else we definitely have those.

Player for player, City's starting XI is still much better and more balanced than United's at present. Better forward line, better back line, arguable on midfield. But, for whatever reason Pelligrini isn't getting City to perform. That goes out of the window in a derby, City shouldn't need any motivation really and I think class will tell.

But looking forward, I think City need to do a lot more investing in the next 2 seasons than United now. Not something I would have thought I'd say 12 months ago. LVG has done a decent job of trimming the deadwood, and we're really about 3 players away from a pretty formidable squad (CB, RB, FW).

On form, it seems Man Utd will win the derby, but seeing how the biggest problem is MP motivating his players against weaker sides and getting them to play better for these small matches, I don't think his players will need much motivating for the big match against us. The players will want to win this themselves and will bring it up a notch and as Man Utd are already playing with flying colours now, I don't think they have another level to rise to and will be beat.

Hope I am wrong though...

yh derby's has nothing to do w/ form. I assume that the meltdown might play a role. They were on top or nearly for so long to be sitting at 4th -_-

Great performance once again. It is a joy to watch Mata, Ander, Michael and the Belgian giant in midfield. Due to technical issues I miss the first 25 minutes but from this moment the lads dictated the game. Wonderful.
