Manchester United Thread

Fellaini was the old Fellaini in our midweek match against Ivory Coast (which was an excellent performance until the coach started with his 6 substitutions).

I watched the Arse-Everton game but flicked over to the Utd game every now and then and pretty much every time I did I was greeted with a west brom player tripping up over the ball or misplacing a 5 yard pass. They look doomed to me. Saw Utd's 3rd goal. Was a nice move.

Hope you beat the scousers

He's been getting better and better throughout the year, but I'm now officially excited about James Wilson. Looked excellent in the CL Youth games (even though as a team we were poor) and just hit his first second half hat trick.

Genuine finisher, reminds me a bit of Rossi at the same level.

Will be interesting to see how he develops. If RVP and Hernandez both leave (won't happen) then he and Will Keane will have to try and get on tour next summer and pull a Janujaz.

So small match this weekend. Pretty low key. Not even really worth watching.

*runs and hides*

I'm so on the fence with the next 3 matches. If we lose all 3 I think that might be what is required to bring in a new manager in the summer. And that feels like the best way to move forward as a club.

But losing to LFC, MCFC at home? Ouch. For the greater good!

I'm split on the match. On the one hand Liverpool could destroy Utd with their slow defense, midfield and so far this season predictable attacking. However that just makes me more nervous that the players will turn up and have a good match. Which was normally the other way round.

Long term I have similar issues, i want Liverpool to win to be well placed for 4th and possibly 3rd, and keep the ridicoulous possiblity of winning the league still possible. But long term having a good Utd performance might mean Moyes gets another season which is worth far more than 3pts.

What would you rather have Ryan, a Spurs/arsenal esque trounsing to make his position untenable or a good performance and win? Thry are the choices imo, as a good performance with a narrow loss wont help utd either way.

Good Job from RVP to quash all the talk of him leaving.

small matter of a game on Sunday now, I suspect the crowd to be rocking so the players will need to be up for it, for Moyes sake at least.

Nani's been found too!

Really is that type of season for us. Everton look to be dropping points, when in the very last minute Seamus Coleman shins a shot perfectly. If he'd hit it with his boot, the keeper saves it, if he'd hit it with his instep defender on the line saves it, but instead he slices the hell out of it to do a perfect lob into the top corner.

Just amazing scenes.

Also Everton's record without their 20m loan striker is abysmal, they showed it during the match, but it was some thing like more draws and losses than wins. For all the credit Martinez is getting, it's basically the same Everton side, but with a world class (chelsea) striker added in - and that literally has been the difference.

Yep,

Thats what annoys me of Chelsea and their loan tactics. Buy up the talent and let it damage your rivals. A rule to stop teams from loaning their players within the same league would be valid imo.

Bet all the blame will be put on Ferguson's head yet again for leaving poor Moyes with a league winning squad.
Complete and utter b******t!

"WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"

Today was a real big moment, Liverpool really slapped us of that so called perch, wouldn't be surprised if they win the league.

Just another day that were making a mistake by not getting rid really and making the rebuild more difficult

I've seen Arsenal visit Old Trafford many times and I know it usually takes a LOT to get a penalty there. But somehow Liverpool gets 3 effortlessly!
Ok, first one was clear. But Jones's shoulder charge was never a penalty and Sturridge's dive was disgraceful! Shameful.
Any thoughts on that?
English players diving, I wonder how the media will treat this.
He should get a retrospective ban.

Every time United looked like getting back into the match, their reaction was brought to a halt by each penalty.
Although Gerrard missed it, that was the final blow because of the Vidic sending off.

I'm truly disgusted by Sturridge's play acting.
Clattenburgh had a real nightmare too.

Oh well. Now we really do need to win the North London derby!

The second penalty was a penalty. They never give those types of penaltys, but it was. The fact that Rafael wasn't sent off when he clearly should have had a lot of do with the ref giving that second penalty,

Horrible match!! No rhythm, no playing style, one shot on target....and such a horrible line-up against a fast and fluid liverpool midfield. They would've done better packing it in the middle and forcing them to the sides. And the penalties...sigh...

I do want to applaud Suarez as he does seem to have matured a lot this season, no more play acting and actually leading the attack (Or maybe Sturridge's play acting just took over and there was no need for Suarez)

10 more Moyes matches and that should be nightmare over. Please.

Rvp, Rooney and mata look to have never played football before. We've lost all fear factor too, would clattenberg have given the second last year? Dunno but he certainly didn't worry about now.

It's fine, but we have to start moving forward. This isn't going to work. Moyes seems like a solid guy, pay him some cash let him take a year out and he'll be back I'm sure. But Manchester United and Moyes need to part ways as soon as possible.

Also just saw Sturbridge pen, no contact whatsoever. Why no media questions? No outrage?

Excellent dive though in real time I had no complaints. Great body shape and simulated contact. Quality.

Probably because it had zero influence on the match....unless you are a very optimistic utd fan. But as I posted in the Liverpool thread, totally unnecessary and only damaging for his reputation. Had it been Suarez....
