Manchester United Thread

That are just some fake fakt that's people made up coz they want him to play for their NT but I'm 100% sure he won't ever play for Turkey or Serbia , Serbia? Really ??

Serbia- libked with this name coz He's from Kosovo , his father immigrate because he of his nationalism ideas about Albania , Serbian government start looking for him (like for many others who start talking about their ideas in Kosovo in late 80'-90' , the reason why he left Kosovo was because of this , Kosovo national football team isn't allowed from uefa coz platini have very good relationship he has with Serbia , and they block Kosovo for being part of Uefa so now Januzaj it's going to play for them ? Really ? That won't ever happen

Turkey-linked mostly because his name and last name , but in Kosovo 95% of people are Muslim and Name are muslim/Turkish , for those who know more history they will know where it coms from , muharrem , muhamed , Ibrahim are very common names over here , I love turkish people and I consider them "brothers" since they are more near to us but he won't go play for them

Valon, i also heard that he has both Serbian and Turkish grandparents...
I'd rather not comment on this one since this is a very sensitive subject.
Even if he never plays for Belgium, he he got his formation with both Brussels and Anderlecht.

It's crazy what talent we have at the moment if yo uconsider the fact that Januzay never played for the national team of his age category and that this team is seen in Belgium as much better than the current generation. According to most people the real golden generation has still to emerge...Januzaj and Bakkali are the first players of that generation to play at senior level, but both Man Utd and City have other players from that same team.

And about Anderlecht: that team has one of their worst seasons, but what they are doing is building a team with young players: 18, 17 and even 16 year olds. Anderelcht had a youth team who has won all the big european tournaments...where does all this talent suddenly comes from ???

Five years ago Belgian football was in absolute limbo...

Wondering how all this increased focus on him will affect him, he's being photographed in the street, asking how his name is pronounced, asked which national team he'll represent, asked whether he'll sign a new contract or not... blimey.

He strikes me as the type to not let it bother him fortunately, but this will be the first real test of that.

The national side issue doesn't really concern me as I don't think he'll choose England, if anything though i'd probably side with Godotelli having never watched Giggsy in a World Cup.

I suspect Moyes will take him out the limelight, it's a bit of a worry now as the 'cat' has got out the bag its not just informed United fans who will be excited for his every touch but every muppet reading a paper like The Sun will expect miracles and expectations have gone through the roof along with the added microscope of everything he does.

will be up to the likes of RVP and Rooney take the pressure off him.

I saw the match against Sunderland and to be fair IMO he had a rather disastrous first half...might be me, but James Richardson had exactly the same opinion on Football Weekly.

Let's not forget that he is just a young guy and don't expect miracles from him yet...maybe he just played his best match of the season...He needs tie to develop in to a seasoned player...

Januzaj?!

He was our best player in the first half IMO, I thought Nani was the only other player of note.

He was also excellent with the reserves on the Monday which earned him the start.

I actually think there is no Kosovo national team.
While i obviously would want him to play for Belgium, i sincerely hope all this nonsense about the national will not disturb him. He has everything to become a great player and i will enjoy him no matter for which country he plays...i will see him always as a Belgian youth product, while Valon will always see him as an Albanian and other people will see him as from Kosovo...in the end all this does not matter at all.

It's also kind of ironic that a Liverpool fan can be that crazy about a Man Utd player...but that is a good thing too as i don't like all these moronic tribal wars between rival football clubs.

What's the situation with Kosovo's national team?

Kosovo NT has apply to be part of UEFA but platini refused it always , it's mostly because of country's like Serbia and Russia who do pression and don't let Kosovo be part of Uefa , whole FIFA it's kind of agree having Kosovo as part of it but you can't be part of FIFA without be accepted from Uefa , it's all politics no body cares for sport they care more about politics ... But our teams lose much from this , no sponsors and no investment on our football because of this .

@gerd I was Albanian before than Liverpool FC fan , for a country like us was very important being "nacionalist" if wasn't for this we will be gone long time ago , when I was 9 I (all we from Kosovo) were forced to leave homes , leave country , when I got back home was burned , all city was burned , even mosques , a lot of people died , so if wasn't for love of our nation we will not exist today !!!

It really is sad how sport and politics are pushed together. I think any country with the ability to field a sport team and enough money to organize a FA should be part of UEFA. Only political side should be that the FA must be supported by the Government.

And I agree that people should play where they call home. If they born there, grew up there, then it should be their home and their choice to play for which country. I see many people who can't make it to their national teams and go to another country just so they can play regularly and despise them. Especially when there are some who choose their own country and cannot play because of stupid politics.

Valon, i understand you. i have no idea what it must be to grow up in a country like Kosovo, other than that it must be horrible. That is also why i don't say much about Januzaj's choice. A country like Kosovo or Albania needs a national symbol, a role model...Januzaj might turn out to be that role model.

If you think about this rationally, then it would be better for this world if Januzaj would play for thje Kosovar (or Albanian) national team than for our national team...only fans are not always rational. It's strange but our national team is becoming an important symbol for all the Belgian people who oppose a Czechoslovakian scenario...we want a multi-ethnic national team in a country were the north (the part where i live) is becoming more and more nationalist and at times even racist.
But compared to what happened in Kosovo this is a luxury problem.

I don't think that team can get you into the WC yet, but it can be a dark horse messing with other team's attempts and maybe after a few years, be what Belgium is today.

Hope that one day that team can be fielded for an official UEFA or FIFA match.

Dunno, Januzaj and Shaqiri are beasts they'd win it by themselves!

Come on...
Imagine this team against Spain, Brazil, Germany...
Some of these teams (and yes Belgium too) are overhyped.
Januzaj and Shaqiri are very good players, but they can't win tournaments all by themselves.

Which country will win the world cup ?
One of the following: Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, Spain.

One of these 5 teams will win the world cup.

There is not a single team that comes close...other teams, the so-called dark horses like Colombia, Switzerland, Belgium or this fictional Kosovo team might eliminate one or two of the above mentioned teams, but in the end one of the 3 other teams will win it.

As for our national team: i'm not even sure if they will participate...they still need two points. Tonight they play in Croatia and i see them loose that match.

Sorry for the off-topic.

I was exaggerating. I do like the look of that team, though but I don't genuinely believe it capable of winning a world cup.

I think next year will see the best of Germany, either way unless they come up against each other before the final my bets are firmly placed on a Spain vs Germany final.

Of course knowing my form, they'll both get knocked out in the group stage and France will win it somehow.

haha, my post was to get INTO the WC, not talking about winning it at all. But I do agree with all your posts. This weekend's games are very exciting to watch.

You can't really blame us for being so off topic...there's nothing going on with club football and the only Utd news we have so far is that Rooney's happy again, Fabio and Hernandez might leave in search for first team football

very cool from Ronaldo.

Van Persie got a hattrick for Netherlands which is promising as he hasn't been quite the same the last two matches for us.

hopefully he can kick on with that.

RVP would be banging them in left, right and center if the team actually got the ball to him.

It's not really his fault if he's completely isolated up front. That said, he should've scored against Sunderland, no idea why he chose to take that one on one like he did.
