Manchester United Thread

It's time we started building an identity, a consistent style of play that we nurture over time, like Wenger's been doing for the past few seasons at Arsenal.

This. I think most would give Moyes a pass if he brought in younger players, phased out the ageing stars and played some decent, adventurous football.

Seeing Ryan Giggs come on for Fellaini last night did no one any favors, but that was such a given it's almost comical.

Lower than 50% pass completion, 0 interceptions, 0 tackles, 0 headers won.

We became more open in midfield, RVP became even more isolated and we eventually conceded.

Contrast that with bringing on Kagawa, and *gasp* playing him in his natural position. If he'd done exactly the same thing as Giggs, we'd know more about him. Personally I doubt he would have been as dire, but that's impossible to say.

Moyes is again not doing himself any favors. Pretty much 99% of United fans are ready to see Giggs become a full time coach. He hasn't been good enough for 2 years now. But Moyes chooses him as the only impact sub? It's mind boggling.

Yeah, the EPL has been very very exciting so far. I do hope that it gets even more wide open and that should be great for all clubs. They'd be able to get more money (which hopefully goes more into youth development, but i highly doubt that) and level the playing fields a bit more.

In the early years of SAF, we weren't doing that great. Of course we weren't champions and at the top for a few years before he came, so there was more room for him to improve. For Moyes, he's starting from almost the top, so there aren't much room for improvement, but lots of room for failure (once you're at the top, the only way to go is down...). Of course he doesn't help himself with questionable squad selection, but I think with time, he should be able to pull something out.

Anyone know what was his track record with Everton when he first went there?

Januzaj

Rooney
Van Persie

Love it. Ladnan with his first start! :SMUG:

Finally a solid starting lineup. Hope it all clicks and RvP is fully fit again.
Nani, Evra, Januzaj and Rafael over the flanks is pretty exciting.

Exciting lineup but that spells the end of Kagawa at Man Utd, unfortunately.

I hope he can get a move in January to a club that will treat him with more respect than we have.

That's a team!

Just like last weekend, the side picked by Moyes is very good IMO.

Yeah, I feel for the lad, no idea why we've been so disrespectful to him, he was absolute class (might even say one of the best) in his position when he was at Dortmund. :(

He still is the most technically gifted player we have in our squad. And he's sitting on the bench all the time....

It's a bit unfortunate but were do you play him? Rooney's the better player and Januzaj has shown more playing from the left also.

I think he can still make it here but he needs to step up also, he hasn't really done that much more than Young who gets crucified.

Alright, let's see what we can do. Can't complain about the lineup, really glad to see Nani in there.

Worried we might get overrun a bit in the middle (shock) but that's a lot of attacking talent. Definitely won't be 0-0!

Well, that was wonderful. Good stuff from the Captain Vidic, goal on a plate.

Played some reasonable stuff, Adnan has looked okay. Rooney is the worst type of Rooney, a one-man ball losing machine. RVP looks like he's not really there.

Worrying, but we did have 10 shots and 5 corners or so. Need something to come off, and soon in the second half.

Adnan looks so confident on the ball! And the way he moves with the ball, reminds me of a certain young number 11. :)

Januzaj looks extremely impressive on the ball especially down the middle. Him and Evra link up well, now wejust need em to connect w Rooney and RvP. Overall though our defense has been pretty woeful and Nani and Rafael aren't making much happening on the right. That goal we gave away was almost a carbon copy of the One against Shakthar.

One-kid team :P

Looks a bit good this lad. Reminds me a bit of Laudrup. And it looks like he's won me 200 smackaroonies. He just needs to sign for us and he'll be a candidate for my 2nd favourite player :)
