Manchester United Thread

It's the same guy who was called djdoc or whatever his name is. By the looks of it he hasnt done much in his years away as his posts are as spectacularly uninsightful as ever.

wayy too much paranoia my fellow evo web friends??

and ask the Man Utd supporter in here - I am in no way pro-Utd bias!! Arsenal are my team in England but they play bad this season.

Anyway, so footballing matters...just seeing the FA Cup replay between Lincoln and Mansfield Town - really bitter that we can't get a lower league team these days in the FA or League Cup.

Someone over at Unitedrant did some research, since the start of the prem (and excluding the year we were forced to skip it) statistically we should have played prem teams in the first round about 6 times, but instead we've played them 12 times. I'm not saying it's fixed (though given Sky...) but it is very, very suspicious.

Our recent 'random' early round cup competitions have seen us play: Liverpool, City, Chelsea x2, West Hamx2, Wolves x2, and of course Leeds (which we lost to be fair).

Obviously I like playing prem teams later in the competition, but there's something romantic and fun about going to a lower league ground in the cups, which we've missed recently.

Also, apparently we had Aston Villa in the first round of the FA Cup in 4 out of 5 seasons in the early 2000s. Random.

Fergie needs to pay the FA as much as he pays the referees. ;)

yeh man they heat the balls up lol but sky dont show fa cup games

Dammit, my theory is busted! ;)

Obviously tongue in cheek, it is a weird statistical anomaly though.

I'd love a cold night in Mansfield! (well I'd love for our young/fringe players to have one, I'm alright thanks)

I loled harder than I should have :D

I remember that live, me and my mate were yelling at f*cking Atkinson missing a clear yellow card offense on Toure, and then cheering at RVP enacting revenge.

Good lad.

RvP won't take crap from Toure. Its almost as if rvp goes like: "dude, wtf, don't touch me"
Also like how he manages to bring him down right as the ref passed him. I must say I am impressed though how calculated and almost mellow RvP has been this season, so far he's doing a standup job setting the right example IMHO. Robin has come a loooong way since he started in Rotterdam w regards to controlling his temper.

gerd get in here and discuss why rooney isnt top five. I dont get it. The man does everything. He really is a complete player, you could put him at rb and once he got say 20 games, he would be a very good rb. He is so incredibly versatile, he has a brilliant touch, he can spray exquisite passes all over the pitch, and of course he gets in the right spots at the right times. over the last five years who has been a better player in the prem(the supposed best league in the world)? Gerd i bet you would agree it is rooney, so how can you not argue he is not a top five player if he is the best player, in perhaps the most talented league in the world.

For the record, I don't actually like Rooney very much. I recall the first match I saw him in - when towards the end he went and tried to scythe Ronaldo in half in injury time. And of course the Carvalho thing, and then the contract shenanigans.

But despite not being a very nice person, he is the best player United have had since Ronaldo left. And that's a pretty good United team. CL finals, league titles, highest win % of any team in the premier league etc. And he's absolutely integral to that team.

RvP won't take crap from Yaya. Its almost as if rvp goes like: "dude, wtf, don't touch me"

If that was Yaya RVR would have bounced off him

3 more Points. :))

Once Carrick went off, Sunderland got much better, then it kind of fell apart when Cleverley did the same. Both are pretty vital at the minute considering Anderson's injured.

even with the apparent love affair we have with signing wingers, we probably need to still improve out wide. Wouldn't mind seeing Kagawa on the left when he returns and trying Young on the right.

Every time I see giggs and scholes come on nowadays I cringe. Seems like the tempo drops way down. Both club legends but its about time they retire (again). Linkup between Jones and Valencia was rather poor in the first half, hope Rafael comes back for the next game. Glad to see Vidic back. Still, good solid performance overall though it sucks to once again not keep a clean sheet.
