Manchester United Thread

I love Dimitar Berbatov too...he just oozes class.
I wish he was a midfielder instead...he could then be our Andrea Pirlo.
In this situation, I would prefer that he stays...for the facts that he has goals in him, he has the composure and the vision to provide that killer pass too.

Wayne Rooney aside(in bursts)...None of our strikers have got what Berba has in his locker. He needs to stay and play a swansong season.

That is if Milan dosent bid for him. :(

It's just heart-warming to see you guys supporting Berba. :)
He's been one of, if not the best bulgarian footballer we've ever had.
It's just saddens me how bulgarian people don't give him the respect he deserves, for what he has accomplished, for his talent. That's why he retired from our national team too, if only there could be more Man Utd supporters from Bulgaria who are like you, concerning Berbatov...
Ah well, I've criticised him, I've said he is a bit lazy, but that doesn't change the fact that he's been a class player AND a role model professional and I was beyond happy when he signed with us.
Anyway, I hope he gets to stay, as Phrase said, at least for one more season and get to play more (yes, I'm looking at you Sir A. Ferguson :D).

My wished kinda came true.
Against AmaZulu FC, Berbatov played as a deep attacking midfielder feeding off Chicharito and Macheda.
He played the whole game and was MOTM for me at least.
Had the most touches, always demanding the ball and looked hungry.
Wit( that being said...its only the first game of the pre-season and hopefully more to come.

Bright spark of the game...Jesse Lingard.
This kid is gonna be a star!

Stoichkov surely ?

Once again, Berbs is a pure class, he even folded the cuffs, just to make it look more classy:

The home kit actually looks good on the players...looks classy and clean from far.

Forgot to comment about Freddie Veseli for the game yesterday.
I didnt think he is a fullback...He looked out of place at rightback and did not make any noticable overlapping runs like Brady did on the other side.
More of a natural CB for me.

That kid,Tyler Blackett that came on looks good...Seems raw but full of energy.A local kid from Manchester too.

I would have saved most of them and I'm not even a keeper! A lot were straight at him.

Sure mate, keep on trollin...maybe a few of the higher numbers, but the top 10 are class.

Berbatov ran the show yesterday and was a possession machine... BUT... we did sometimes seem a bit slow and ponderous when connecting attack and defence because of it. Still, his touch, control, vision and ability to pick a pass is so much better than some of our midfielders it's laughable.

I'll never understand why Fergie didn't go all out to convert Berbs to the United way.

Fergie said Berba is too slow for his team last season, the way I see it is, the small intricate passing in the box was perfect for him.. I want him too stay.

Yes..Its totally a different level from the Premier League but having said that Berba did ran the show although Scholes was there too...Ginger looked to be slightly off pace while I am at it.

Anyways...
@steviebateman: Lucas Moura has offered to waive part of his problematic signing bonus in order to try and secure a move to Man United. #MUFC #SP

Agreed, looked way more like the Scholes of 2 years ago when it was time to retire than the re-invigorated Scholes of this year.

I still don't get the Lucas Moura thing - at all. No idea what's going on there, seems to be the last thing we really need at the moment.

Bid for RVP from us, City & Juventus rejected according to the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18922208

I love van Persie, the guy has immense technique and he's a joy to watch, but I just can't see the need for him at United. Considering we didn't really have someone playing in an Attacking Midfielder role last season, Kagawa will surely take the place of a forward. So that's Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez and Kagawa vying for a starting place (and Berbatov if he's not sold on). So where the hell would RVP fit in? Maybe he'll compete with Evra to play at left back?

So as much as I love to watch him play, I'm hoping he stays at Arsenal or joins Juventus.

Ive always thought he's amazing, unbelievable potential that he never really fulfilled till last year.

I agree, I worry about him being a crock and our medical team just spells disaster.

I have a feeling Nani's not staying unfortunetly, the fact were after Van Persie and Moura kind of tells me that along with Valencia getting number 7.

I think we'll be looking to line up something like

---------Rooney----------
--Nani/RVP---Kagawa---Valencia

Nani will stay, it was the agents fault the contract fell through, by January Fergie will have put his toys back in the pram and finish tying the deal up.

Moura bid failed apparently, so I don't know where that's going next, Ganso is being watched still I think we're waiting for Milan to make a move just to put a little bit more on.

Sky has reported United have pulled out of the RVP chase, while other sources suggest we are the only team not to be rejected, so seems like an agent at play.

Belhanda, Eriksen and Thiago Alcantara have all been linked with United other this week in deals ranging between £15m-£25m.

Of that selection I would like Thiago, though I can't see Barca selling one of the best midfielders in the world.

Also our youth quartet Petrucci, Veseli, Lingaard and Cole could join Championship sides on loan. Most notably Peterborough have approached about Tunnicliffe returning for another year, and also taking on Veseli.

I think Fergie wants the fans to have some reinsurance they want to get top players. I remember Wenger doing the same with Goetz n Benzema. We even made a 20m bid for Reina once ! You must think everything is a chess move. Almost like saying to the Brazilians we aren`t interested in you only ,but others. Funny I don`t think it helps , Arsenal is trying to pile pressure and Rvp is not heading to Asia. I see it like this the buyer is known, it`s a matter of time for them to raise their bid.

Praise the lord: SAF "We do have a problem in CM. There's no doubt about that."

From today's press conference, quotes in the papers tomorrow.
