Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

So coming up to transfer window and we're linked with a few players but SAF seems to be taking the same stance that he's taken for the last few years.

"All things being equal I am perfectly happy with the strength of our squad in terms of depth, quality and age range. I will not be swayed by the endless tweets and blogs urging the club to get busy in the transfer market next month. As far as I am concerned I am marching perfectly in step, true to my beliefs and principles. While recruiting some of the world's leading players can lift you into contention for honours, it doesn't necessarily take you all the way, as I hope we will be able to demonstrate before the end of the season as other factors come into play. You can never say never in football, of course, because fortunes can fluctuate wildly - that's the football world. If a really top-class player became available, then we would go for him, or if we picked up any further serious injuries, it might be important to add to our squad."

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Goalscorers don't always have create goals for themselfs, Gomez and Falcao are arguably the top goalscorers last season and vital to the team, both whom come under the category of players who don't really create goals for themself, which is Hernandez, he may not be best dribbler in the world but he does what he's supposed to do and scores and gets us vital points, the kind of player you need to win the league.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

looong ball at it`s best  1-2 (pass) has more to do with 1 touch between passes. Not a long kick btw :P

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Speaking of team spirit/ mentality - it's interesting reading loads of football journo's put in their best XIs of 2011. Almost none include any United players. Lots of City players, a few Arsenal (RVP obviously), quite a number of Newcastle players and generally Vorm at the back.

It's not a slight, I'm not sure who you'd say should be there from our team, but I do find it at least a little odd that the team who won the league halfway through the year, and is now tied for the top can't get a single player into a Premier league first XI...

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

No player will make it to dream team staring XI but that dream team will definitely be coached by Sir Alex and that's the difference and where United come in. ;)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Really? I think Nani and Rooney have a case easily. Vidic unfortunately doesn't make it due to injuries but I don't understand this notion were an average bunch and are only competing because of Sir Alex. Sure he might be the difference if we said whose got the edge between us and City.

If this exact same side existed with Ronaldo in their ahead of Nani or Rooney we would be hailed as so much more I reckon.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Ouch. 3 shots conceded, 3 goals. Very, very poor from De Gea on the winning goal, no idea what he is doing there.

Weird, we played well, dominated possession, had something like 15 corners and only conceded, as I said, 3 shots.

Dear Sir Alex. Park and Rafael are not a central midfield. For all the credit SAF gets, what the hell was that bench? I'm fine with resting Rooney from the start - like he did at Wigan - but put him on the bench at least so he can make an impact.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Not sure you can really blame Carrick today. Yes, the second goal kind of came of him, but that's incredibly unlucky - I'd just finished saying great tackle before it deflected into the Yak's path. And that was it for Blackburn's chances all match.

Whatever, I'm kind of pleased. Our team has, literally, no central midfielders fully fit. If we'd comfortably won 3-0 there'd be no pressure on improving the team, but hopefully this loss will show people what is plain to see. United have a team that cost about 350m less than their closest competitor. The fact that they're anywhere near the top of the table is a friggin miracle.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Haha, seriously...

Still, having spent about 350m pounds less than our closest rivals, we're still in touching distance, despite 12 first team injuries. Not many teams could manage that.

Lol im joking and to say the true i thought united is going to win again pl but after today match i really think u need about 3 quality players as we need too as well

Oh and de gea its same as our caroll lol

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yeah, really dissappointed with De Gea today. Only really had two things to do (other than pick the ball out) on 2 corners, and flapped at both. Practice time...

(not that a single United player could feed him dangerous corners in training, mind)

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Any team would struggle if they started with Park and Rafael in midfield.

Rumours of Rooney dropped for the game due to misbehaviour are popping up everywhere.

Besides Anderson, our bench were from the reserves.

Injuries are ripping us apart.

What did I say about Hernandez on my last post? Totally in effective from the get go.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

any news about Fletcher? i realy feel for him and it´s very bad news he might retire..

bad result but you can still be champions, as well as any of the teams in top 4 atm.. the table is again tighter..hope city struggle as well..

and of course i hope you won´t be champions, but i don´t want city to win it either..

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I think Fletcher will likely be done. It's not a disease that has a cure, apparently he'll always have it.

We're either broke or Fergie has his eye on someone who can't move til the summer. I cannot accept that we've lost Hargreaves, Scholes and Fletcher and he won't replace a single one of them.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Thank you Sunderland... and maybe the Linesman.

Both, we are broke at the mo and SAF wants a couple of players in the summer.

yeah I'd be suprised if Fletcher comes back, the treatment for those types of medical conditionsm is steroids.

talk in papers this morning of city going for De Rossi, out of contract this summer and a position that we are crying out for but there is no way SAF is gonna pay those types of wages.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Maybe one day when City realise they don't need De Jong, Barry, Milner, Nasri, Silva, Toure AND De Rossi they'll be forced to sell one, and we can get on in there.

It's almost embarassing to think that City would buy one of the best players in the world to fill in for one of their most expensive players being gone for about a month.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Looks like we should have rooney back for tomorrows game...

gonna need more steel in MF vs the magpies. park and rafa wont cut it!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I think a possibility is put rooney in midfield and berbatov upfront with welbeck/hernandez, don't really see us dropping berbatov with 5 goals in 2 games but you never know

Offtopic a bit but looking at this video, i remember everyone of the goals, such vital goals (arguebly not so much ac milan but still) the memories, get well fletch

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Big match today given City overcame what looked to be one of their toughest matches of the remaining season yesterday. Would love 3 points but can't feel too optimistic given our injuries. I've not yet seen if Ferdinand is back, but you can bet Ba and Tiote are keen to give great shows as this is the last match before the ACN.

Just hope Rooney is up top with the Berbs. If scoring 6 in 3 and being our best player in 2 of those doesn't keep you in the team, I don't know what does.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Quite attacking : Lindegaard, Valencia, Evra, Carrick, Jones, Giggs, Rooney, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov

!!!!!

Nmind, twitter screwing around again. Sign, need to learn not to trust it.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I guess you liked the refereeing decisions in this match at OT?

Oh wait, that doesn't suit your blind LFC agenda, my bad.
Fergie is running the FA, Webb is a puppet etc.
