Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Moot point. Your initial beef was that City were loaning players and they couldn't play against us...I simply pointed out that when the shoe was on the other foot, you lot didn't cry bout it like you are doing now.
:FAIL:

No, if you read through earlier posts you'll see my point about City doing it with established, senior internationals is the problem.

Surely you can see the difference between fielding, say, Ritchie De Laet and Emmanual Adebayor?

Obviously you can't have loanees playing against their parent club, the incentives are wrong. Historically it hasn't been a problem because generally loans were for young players looking to gain some experience.

With City's unlimited spending on wages, they can buy players they don't need and loan them back to other competitors. See Santa Cruz or Jo or Wayne Bridge, or Adebayor. These aren't unproven 20 year olds that may or may not even be in matchday squads, these are players the teams will be built around.

In about 12 months time (or even January) we're going to see the same happening with Milner and possibly Barry. And since no one else will pay the ridiculous wages of City, those players will be loaned out, subsidised by the Sheik.

But hey, who cares right? You've got your sugar daddy so fingers in ears na-ne-na-na-na etc. You will win the league, likely this year. So congrats on that.

And since you're responding on here, can you please give me 1 convincing reason why Mansour has paid over £1bn for a team he's been to see once?

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

To sum it up, we loaned out young players like Cleverley and Welbeck, and they came back as pretty much first team players now. That was the intention with the loan, give them the experience that we couldnt give at the time.
City loan out the kind of players who'll most likely be sold the moment the loan period finishes. Which begs the question, why didnt they sell them in the first place? You did that with the likes of Bellamy, Robinho, and you almost know for the fact that guys like Santa Cruz and Adebayor arent coming back.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

With City's unlimited spending on wages,
Yep, FFP makes sure we have unlimited spending on wages. :FAIL:

Can you give me one good reason why Uncle Malcolm has leeched over £200 million from 'the biggest, best, most historical club in the World™"?

Facts are, it doesn't matter, so what, he's not as big a City fan as me, or the rest of us, using that as a stick to beat us..fucking lol.
:FAIL:

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Um yes: I can see about 200m very good reasons why 'Uncle Malcolm' has leached money from United - does that give you any clues?

As to why 'Uncle Mansour' has sunk £1bn into a team he clearly doesn't care that much about - you see THAT's what I don't understand.

You do realise one has made money from football while the other is pissing it away right?

And you don't see creating an entire operating model dependant on getting 'Uncle Mansour' to pay for your losses each year as a bit of a problem?

Well then, you sir are a very fortunate fan, and I wish you the very best.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Rooney's form is exciting, I think this is easily going to be his best season ever.

he's combining his number 10 role with buckets of goals.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

He was excellent for England today - and has been for us all summer.

Hate to say it, but that probably means it's metatarsal o'clock ;(

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

With Ashley Young and Rooney's new hair, we'll probably get a lot more headers too.

The season's looking very promising. Especially with Pogba also waiting to be drafted into the team. Him and Cleverley are gonna be an awesome team in a few years.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Morrison can't be ruled out if were talking Pogba. I think they might possibly get a Carling Cup game this year but next season they could be apart of the actual squad.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yeah I'm genuinely looking forward to the Carling Cup games this year.

I've seen a bit of Pogba but nothing really of Morrison, granted he seems like a massive twat but if he's got the talent then I think I'd let him off.

Gonna be funny to see the average age of the CC team versus the current starting eleven, probably won't be much different.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I've watched lots of youth stuff - Morrison is one of the best young players I've ever seen. Sadly, that's just in terms of his football - I believe that if he'd sorted himself off the pitch he'd already be in the first team.

He has this grace on the ball that is so rare - like watching a young Giggsy or Iniesta. He glides rather than dribbles.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Were playing well at the minute aren't we :))

Im talking to myself aren't I :((

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Freakin eh, quite good that.

Hernandez looks rather sharp, great to see.

Only stain on the match was Kevin Davies, completely unnecessarily breaking Cleverley's foot. Challenge from behind in a completely neutral part of the field - so ridiculous. Not even a card of course.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yes we are playing well but there is a long way to go.....

chelsea started strong last season...

this is our toughest week yet, away to bolton, away to to benfica then home to chelsea...

3 points already in the bag, 4 points from next two would be great!

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Cleverley is a massive loss, when the team is playing that well you don't want to change anything, Welbeck went down but Hernandez is sensational, hopefully Cleverley's loss isn't something which knocks us back.

Anderson has started the season unbelievably good.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I am starting to feel that we have regained back that fear factor we used to have effect on opposition teams during the 90s.No team in the premiership wants to play us right now.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Cleverley only a month which is good news in a sense.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I wouldn't go that far, Barcelona are the best and people need to accept it, their just that special.

I do love how were trying to get 11 "footballers" out every week.

A defence of Rafael-Smalling Jones-Fabio processes better players on the ball than most teams midfield.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Bet Rio is thrilled to read this: "The programme also discovered that between April 2007 and August 2010, 240 drugs tests had to be abandoned because testers turned up at training grounds but players were not there. The clubs involved included Manchester City, Liverpool, Fulham, Everton, Newcastle, Swansea and Crystal Palace."

240 tests missed = no punishment. Rio misses a test = 8 months.

Kolo Toure fails a test and gets less time.

But the FA love United right?

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

What you going to do? I'm sure Rio is currently pissed but it was a long time ago, typical FA just being crap.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

So Benfica tomorrow, still missing a good few players. Hoping Fergie doesn't fully rotate the team, as it might break up the momentum we've had to date. At the same time, with Chelsea on Sunday, I can understand if he did. Could give a whole load of players a rest with a pretty strong (if slower) team:

--------------De Gea-------------
-Smalling---Jones---Evans-Fabio--
---------Carrick--Fletcher-------
--------------Giggsy-------------
--Valencia---------------Park----
-------------Berbatov------------
