Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

As gerd brought back that evil old man to the topic, this is an interesting article to read.
I think it is true, all the transfers that Hodgson made are going to be in the top 10 failures of the decade, and it is gonna be tough to say which was the less worst.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Am I alone in thinking Kelly should be England's starting RB? Far better than the defensively clueless duo of Johnson and Richards.

no, all of LFC supporters + Kenny who prefeurs him over Johnson there thinks he owns this spot. Me either. He will be future England RB for sure for years to come..

A "Tada" question:
Why Carrol hasn't debuted yet?

getting from injury, he trains so he should start the next match or make his debut against United probably..

I think Dempsey is a very good player and would certainly be one of the better Liverpool players.

I always think he is great player and should take step forward in his career. I would welcome him here if Aquilani won´t return, we lack good AM. Maxi isn´t long term solution.. Kuyt should start as CF only!

Dempsey is a good player but we needed strikers.

Yes but i think we will see some Attacking midfielder swaping places with our current ones in summer, i realy hope so.. I would take back Aquilani over Maxi..

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Im a Liverpool supporter and would take Johnson all the time over Kelly in the RB. I would never put him in the LB though, you are wasting his biggest strenght that is his offensive play when he comes from behind.
I dont see how you can compare Aquilani to Dempsey or Maxi. The distance betweeen Aquilani and Dempsey is the same distance between amateur and proffesional football. And with Maxi, you simply cant compare them because one is a wing and the other one is an advanced playmaker or a deep lying playmaker.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Mate the distance between Aquilani and Dempsey is not that high as you say..dont overreact.. Dempsey is Premier league proven performing great for Fulham and his NT. He would fit in immediately.. Aquilani is not proven in PL, injury prone...but don´t think i would choose Dempsey over him...i just don´t think the boy will return to this club.

Maxi is wing? i never seen him perform as winger..for me he playes like false AM..maybe he was wing but that was few years ago..

About Johnson, he is great but with Kelly in team he has no other choice..Kelly has be revelation on RB, defending and attacking well, Johnson on RB was not better than Kelly on RB imo.

Other thing would be try to play Johnson a bit more in attack as RM.. but i doubt this will happend, also Johnson did quite well as LB anyway since Kenny´s arrival.. i would not chainge anything in our back 4 atm.. only want Agger back fit in short time..

you're my favourite poster on here.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

You know Aquilani did play in the Premier League right ? And that, though he didnt play a lot of matches, that was enough for him to make more assists than any other player in the PL during the first six months of 2010.
Dempsey can be a good player for a team like Fulham, but not for Liverpool. There are a lot of better targets, it would be a pathetic buy proper of a guy like Hodgson and not of a proffesional scout like Damien Commolli.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I rate Dempsey I`ve seen him play from his early days even when I tried to watch MLS. He always had something different about him ,even though he became America`s enemy in the eyes of the MLS . By stating his 1 dream is to play in the UK and all direction went back to Landon.

Dempsey has what it takes he just needs a better squad to improve him. Liverpool will gain a son in him. As for NT he gives every ounce of sweat to make the NT better. Politically he won`t be praised as Landon and soon be forgotten his only mark will be in club and most! yanks will say the same. Dempsey is class

Dempsey is a great player and has proven that at every stage of his career in whatever competition he's played against any opponent! He doesn't care who he's facing or what team he's playing for. Such is his arrogance, belief in himself and mental strength and ability as a footballer. Big, small teams, Internationally, MLS, EPL, I, too, watched him like beboq since his breakthrough and immediate impact as a youngster in MLS days and right from the start, you knew this kid would become a star! There was just something about him.

It's a ridiculous thing to say difference between him and Aquilani is huge because it shows just how biased you are.

I'm a big fan of Alberto and want him back in the EPL and Liverpool. Few in the world are more comfortable on the ball than him and have his vision and touch. If I were Kenny, I'd do my best to bring him back if possible (most likely not, cuz Juve probably will exercise option to buy him) and build a team around him. That's how good he is!

But to say what you did is ridiculous because Dempsey absolutely CRUSHES Aquilani in many important areas.

1. Fitness

2. Mental strength, aggression, determination!! Dempsey is a GOD in this regard. Similar to Tim Cahill. Players like him will ALWAYS be dangerous because they never give up and always give a 100%. Alberto is not half the man Dempsey is in this regard.

3. Aerial ability. Time and time again, you will see guys like him and Tim Cahill outjump and cause defenses all kinds of problems in the air both with headed goals and nod-ons to other team-mates. Alberto? Hahah... well... he's the same height but a ball would have to accidentally hit him in the head and go to a corner if he was to be a threat in the air.

Bottom line, it's stupid to compare the two because they both have their advantages and disadvantages over each other and both are quality players. If I were a manager, I'd want both in my team!

Dempsey is a very well rounded footballer and so a real asset to ANY team!

I stopped reading when you called Dempsey a football star.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I stopped reading when you decided to look up and finally take your lips off Alberto's tiny dick.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I stopped reading when you called Dempsey a football star.

oh man why are you so arrogant, he is quality player... the players chainges the clubs..why do you have to say player for Fulham don´t deserve to play for LFC? Are you mad? Players develop, they are not whole career on same level.. Dempsey is already to good to play for Fulham and in better squad his effectivity would get even higher.. What makes you think he would be bad for LFC? Becouse he playes for Fulham?

He is a star in his own way, certainly best USA player in this day except Howard + quality team player who performs against any team in PL in relative small team - that is Fulham.. i would take him immediately to LFC if there was the possibility..

It´s realy funny to understand your thinking about who is good enough or bad for LFC.. This things are pointless, everyone player who Kenny choose to play has something to be good to play for us.. we can´t have different players and best world players at every position...what matters is team work.. and you can pick any playrs from small teams and play them together and build a great team...

just realy incredible your way of thinking in my opinion..

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Lol yeah I think so beboq though come to think of it, I just realized, the "Liverpool" thread is probably not the best place to be singing Timmy Cahill's praises!! :D :P

Nonetheless, the rest of the folks here, though biased are at least rational and logical for the most, so I'm sure even they can admit and see quality in the likes of Cahill and Dempsey and not just conclude they are amateur players compared to Aquaman because Alberto can do more keep-ups. :P :LMAO:

I dont remember saying that about Cahill. I think he is an excellent player.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

What are you, five ?

He simply gave you the answer you deserved with your: "i stopped reading when...". PLf is a nice guy who never ever provokes or searches aggro. On top of that there are few people who have is football knowledge, i.e. somebody who knows all kinds of competitions and teams...

To somebody who follows football remote Aquilani is the better and certainly the more talented player of both.

If you follow football without bias, it is clear that Dempsey is a ver, very good player and has proven himself more than Aquilani in English football and in Europe (he played a final).

People here forget that Fullham was a very good team under Hodgson.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

a very good team which won....wait for it...feck all!how were they a good team?cos they got to a final?so did middlesbrough and look where they are now.it was a fluke.happens.ask otto,he'll tell ya.......

From a neutral standpoint I don't think there is a big gap in class between 'a team like Fulham' and Liverpool any more. If you were winning titles and cups on a regular basis and in the Champions League then maybe, just maybe, your argument would have credence. In my opinion there's six teams in the Premier League with stronger squads than Liverpool, and I'm sure each and every one of them would welcome Dempsey as part of their squad. So to dismiss one of the most talented players ever to come out of the USA as not good enough for Liverpool, when frankly he's a better player than at least half your squad, is foolish and delusional.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Huge lack of drive and effort from too many players today. Notably Lucas, Meireles, Gerrard, Wilson and Suarez.

Poor decisions from the ref where we should've had two penalties.

Defending has been AWFUL, Carragher and Skrtel both poor and not concentrating at all, the Ba goal was a joke.

Players should be ashamed of themselves.

Gutted for Kelly, easily our best player.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

How many months are we talking here? Gosh .. I wasn't watching and then seeing Kelly lies down and covering the face, the air sucked out of me lungs.

And Dalglish's honeymoon time is really over, a big second half I hope.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yep, the buzz seems to have gone and it's back to reality and the grind and it just looks to me like some players just aren't at the level expected of them at times.

Like I've said, it's going to be a big summer with big changes I reckon.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Suarez has spent more time on the floor than on the ball, ridiculous.

He makes Ronaldo and Rooney look like perfect professionals.

Should be interesting to see what a hairdryer treatment from Kenny does to your players, lord knows you need it.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Gerrard has been pointless, you wouldn't even know he's playing.

Same with Carragher and Skrtel for that matter, Ba and Piquione are getting the ball at will and getting shots as and when they want to.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

There you go. The ball gets smashed into Bridge's face, nearly knocks him out, goes out of play ... and the officials give West Ham the ball?! Brilliant.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

To be fair to Skrtel, he played unsuccessfuly the whole game against Ba and Piquionne and comes in Cole who's ate him for breakfast before smashing it in the near corner of Reina. Poor him, poor Liverpool. See you Europe.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

So, how many of this squad are not for sale? And how many would you sell or accept bids on? Probably a handful that have to stay and the rest can go?

Disgraceful performance there, and worse than the Prague game. Real lack of determination and West Ham showed us up completely, to the point where you'd think WE were the team bottom of the league.

Embarassing. Again.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Easy to overreact to the defeat, remember it's still the same team that brought down Roy, and it wasn't all Roy's fault. The team was and still thin and despite the believe instilled by Kenny's return, the talent just isn't there to keep up.

I think it's easier to say who should go at the end of the season: Skrtel (a former of his own self), Maxi (where are we going with him around?), Jovanovic (not playing), Poulsen (we have spearing in his position).

I'll put Carra in the bench to replace Kyrgiakos and have a new CB.

He is turning 28 next week. There are far better targets in the market that this guy, whose quality is unproven in top teams.

Totally agree. And I would also add Carragher to the list of players that has to go. He is on a massive contract, a contract proper of a key player, of one of the best players in the world, and instead his current level doesnt justify that at all. He was going to be a free agent in six months. Thanks Roy.
