Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

And it might be childish of me, but I can't help but chuckle when you see Delap actually trying to play football. Only saw him twice after he came on, one was a dangerous throw-in, and that was followed up a few seconds later by him actually trying to kick the ball and failing miserably. :D

Thought for years that he's pretty useless as a footballer and should just do javelin or something. Apart from his throws, I can't see a single thing he offers to improve a team.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

LFC.TV doing a poll and one of the questions is MOTM ... and the choices are Kyrgiakos, Kelly, Meireles or Gerrard :CONF:

No Lucas, no Kuyt?

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yeah Kuyt was excellent. Showed his intelligence and strength.

The list didn't create a hissy, I thought it was amusing, and why I posted my tong-in-cheek comparison. The hissy was created by mostly Utd supporters coming in here and having a go because we are looking at the potential positives of signing Carrol AND Suarez. Everyone is just focussing on Carrol being overpriced (which we all agree on) and they keep banging on about it and using it as some kind of dig yet never bother to talk about the tactical advantages it could have. It's boring and annoying.

Glad to see Suarez score and have some good moments, should hopefully settle him down and not have pressure build because he "still hasn't scored".

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

its anoying indeed becouse nobody mentioned how chelsea just net spend 75 mil. pounds on two players while we net spend 2 mil. pounds on two players as well.

Its obviously getting a bit anoying now becouse we did a buisiness that will pay of and we could see now the team is different since Suarez came on pitch

and Carroll could be a great hit man if he get´s good crosses and passes, he has all ability to succeed and he looks realy happy to have this oportunity here:

i never discoused their overpriced players that were not proven either... no matter if they break the record or not..

if we break a record on Carroll it clearly shows we are not poor anymore.
and it´s not fans buisiness to care at all... not LFC fans neither non-LFC fans..

no doubt liverpool are on the up and if not this season, next season IMO it will be the usual suspects dominating teh top 4 for years to come.

well i think chelsea may be out of the top 4 in the future being replaced by man city but point is, liverpool will be back to where they belong by next season

but he didn't scored by himself. :D

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

thanks good to read, i wish we go to top 4 again as well..i don´t think it´s not impossible..

some true about the questions about LFC buying Carroll

Am i a striker who went for a british transfer record?
in the 1988/89 season i made 10 appearances for southampton without scoring a goal
in the 1989/90 season i made 26 appearances and scored 3 goals
in the 1990/91 season i made 36 appearances and scored 4 goals
in the 1991/92 season i made 41 appearances and scored 13 goals
in the summer of 1992 i moved to blackburn rovers from southampton for a british transfer record of £3.6m, a staggering amount of money considering no one had really heard of me and peter beardsley who was a proven goalscorer and a star of the 1986 world cup went for £1.9m just 4 years earlier.
my name is Alan Shearer
I cant remember the name of the manager who bought shearer though!

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

First what Suarez did, after being substituted, was little talk with Dirk.
And this pic says everything:

Think we got a new friendship (Maybe Suarez also speakin' Dutch... :D)

Suarez also seemed to work well with the team in the 25 mins or so he had, which is even more remarkable considering he hasn't even had a training session with the squad yet!

tbf though....

I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22.

Then in my 1st season in the top flight I had bagged an impressive 15 goals by the end of January. This included a goal against the reigning champions, away at arsenal and in a home win over Liverpool. My form earned me an England call-up and my debut in an international friendly.

Am I a £35m striker?

No, i'm Michael Ricketts, Feb 2002.

I don't think Kenny will coach his individuality away either like Rafa did to a few good players in the past.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

tbf again, where is Dzeko, 5 games for City and 1 goal, how much they paid for him again?

Suarez playes 25 minutes to score 1 goal...

obvioulsy it´s ridicilous to compare, just to answer previous points about Rooney hattrick etc.. it´s all about the team win, if this players help winning games, they are good buys.

Being captain of Ajax and knowing that captain speaks for his team mates i´m shrue he knows dutch, he spend few years in holland with Ajax and Groningen.. i´m shure he thanked for the great pass :D

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

That pic is great Abou, love how they have the Anfield sign on the wall as you walk downstairs! :D

Poor lad will need to grow his hair aswell, as by the looks of it he was trying to sport a Torres do.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Kuyt was pretty good in the lone striker role....
got better as the game went on...

Meireles...typical goal.....

Soto superb at the back....

Suarez had the confidence....superb goal....a bit lucky ...but he
did the hard part easy...

As Kenny said.....wait till we have this front 4...

Caroll, Suarez, Gerrard, Meireles...

The smile is back.....we have players who are giving 100% and with a
bit of luck we can climb further up the table ..

Torres....thanks...but goodbye....you won't be missed...you left on your own.
Now we have 2 young strikers with a net spend of 2m.....
who have a lot of potential....we are no longer a 2-man team...
