Can't quite get my ahead around our new attack suddenly consisting of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, and Fernando Torres at Chelsea.

Just ... crazy.

Agree with Jonney, about Chamakh to be fair I'd say thats the level Carroll is at, potentially better but I doubt it which says it all with one costing 40M and the other being free.

its done, i really didn't want us to do this with any one player.
could've gone for a cheaper and simular player in r.van wolfswinkel
would only cost a fraction of Avatars price. Isnt that what comolli supposed to be doing? spending maybe £10m-£18m on players who can go on to justify a ridiculous price tag. personally i like caroll as a player who is quite simular to Dzeko tbh. But one is an international player with european competition experience and a great goal scoring record, go figure .

I think the owners wanted to make a grand gesture to prove to the fans and the footballing world that they're happy to spend and spend big if necessary, they also proved that any money from player sales goes straight into the transfer budget, which was definitely not the case under the previous pair of cunts.

At the end of the day you need to forget the price tag. Why? Because Torres shafted us.

I think had Torres came out he wanted to move in early Jan, we might have pursued other targets but with two days or so left we had no option and had to pay over the odd.

But i think the lad has potential, he's a handful and has a cracking left foot. Daglish knows what hes doing.

Liverpool - chelsea rivality its not comparable to Barça - Madrid, and the Portuguese where lying 'till the last day, i remember a first plane from elmundodeportivo with him in a Barça shirt saying "I'm staying" just 2 days before left the club.

things talked about Carroll being shit and all being worse than previous players is bullshit, just plain nothing...

we do our talking on field, and if this means we will be better team that playes for fans than i am happy..

mate this people are not ididots, this are fans just like any others, buying official shirts probably and being dissapointed in him. I would wish him good luck but not in this circumstances.. I can understand a transfer but like this? He basicly made a fool out of himself with all the words of being happy here and looking forward to the season.. If i had an official shirt with Torres name on, i would throw it away as well...such a disgrace to all..

He loves only himself. He doing such thing after what he said about his love to Liverpool and about that he's not even close to play in any other english club. And he requesting transfer in last few days of winter window. But owners showed that they have guts, buying Carroll. Hope that players will show same guts in match against Chelsea.

At the end of the day you were the winners. You were given two magnificent players (despite Carroll's overpaying) but the most important, your club sent a clear message: LFC are back and is bigger than anyone.

They are idiots mate, they aren't doing it out of passion, they're doing it because it gets them a bit of attention or because a cameraman tells them to do it.

Don't forget, when you burn a Liverpool shirt, regardless of the name on the back, you're burning the Liverpool crest, Liver Bird and Hillsborough symbols.

Why Chelsea and why now?
I felt from last summer that I need to do a step forward in my career and for my ambition as a footballer. I am joining a team that is at the top level, there is not another level after Chelsea. I am joining with players like Chelsea have. I am joining with big names like Terry, Lampard, Drogba and Anelka and I can be part of this great team.
Also I wanted to join because Chelsea always have shown a big respect for me. They really want me and it is important when you have the support of the people in the club, and the support of the fans who always showed respect to me when I came to Stamford Bridge and at Anfield. Now I am very happy to be a Chelsea player.

would that shirt be weared by any liverpool supporter ever again?

I totally agree with you on this. Some say that we could have save the money from Carroll and expend it in the summer. But, we needed him now, since Suarez cant play the Europa League and that may be our direct chance to play european football next season.
Yes, we probably spent and additional 10M just for the circustamces but the owners were sending a message here. We sell a player and all that money get invested in the team.

At the end of the day, it was not all up to the player, even if he handed in a transfer request, they didn't have to sell him. But with an offer of 50m, who would turn it down?

At least you got good money for him, very different from what happened with, say, Arsenal being backstabbed by that c*nt Cashley.

Seeing Torres in that Chelsea interview.......no words....feels so wrong..
this man's so-called loyalty.....he said the right words at the right
time....and now joined the top class club he wanted in the summer...
and could not get the chance....
no wonder he played his best game against chelsea.....
he has got his wish....with the so-called top class players
like Lampard, Terry and Drogba...

When we play him...let us not boo him..... but ignore him.
This is worse than what Owen did.....but he does not deserve
the boos or abuse....he deserves Liverpool winning...we must win
that game next weekend...

Suarez will be a terrific signing....given some time...

Caroll can potentially be good.....overpriced...but he does not
seem the type of person who cares...

This reminds me so much of Rush leaving and being replaced by
Aldridge and Beardsley who were not anywhere near Rush's goals
or reputation....

FSG have done what they could...in the limited time we had....
A big thanks to them for at least backing up their words with
actions in the transfer market....

Now....this will lift Liverpool.....and give Kenny the chance
to make something happen....
