Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Aye, he holds the ball up well and is comparable to Crouch when holding off a defender and waiting to play the pass.

For £1.5m, he's been an absolute bargain.

Time will tell on that one for me as I can't agree with that comment.
For a lanky string of piss, Crouch is a tidy footballer. Ngog (judging on what I have personally seen so far), is a carthorse!

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

i think NGog from what i seen has amazing touch and technique...for the time he is on pitch he scored quite often this season...

but for Suarez as SS i dont agree...i think the best way we should play is 433... with 2DM, 1AM/CM - Gerrard and two wingers/SS.. giving passes to Torres...if we buy Suarez, i think he can play on wing as well...better than Jovanovic for example... becouse he has quick feet and good pace.. he could give the coach more options...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

stewart downing??????nooooooooooo............
have a sneaky feelin its a.young were askin bout.villa need the cash(18-21mill) for..wait for it......darren bent!LMFAO

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

There used to be another young (French? Moroccan? French Moroccan) player with Liverpool whose name sounded a litle bit like Ngog, that was a player i liked the few times i saw him...where is he playing now?

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Dalglish convinced Agger to stay....good job !

http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport...-to-remain-at-liverpool-fc,-claims-agent.html

Downing would be decent....when is the last time we had a good
left winger ?

I think Dalglish is doing well by suggesting that Poulsen and Konchesky
will get chances....it is a squad game...and with the Europa League
coming ...we need all the fit players...and if those 2 can provide
decent cover...then why not....
Poulsen played as well as he as...at Blackpool...and if Kenny is
getting us to play good passing football....which was missing under Roy..
then who knows...they may turn out as ok squad players...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I've always quite liked Downing, wouldn't mind him at us at all.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Suso and Coady promoted to Melwood today by Dalglish :D

Van Bommel claims there's interest from Liverpool :( Fortunately he says there's other "more interesting" offers on the table :D

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Suarez hasn't exactly covered himself in glory this year and seems to have lost his form.

Would've taken him in summer though.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

That would be a disaster, if you think Konchesky is a very average England international wait for Downing to underwhelm you.

John Gregory, on the hype about him being left footed, "If Downing was a right footed English player he'd be playing in league one"

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

The players are definitely more positive about Dalglish
and the way we are now playing.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...lready-improved-morale-says-kuyt-2186926.html

Interesting he says that the players like the way we play now....
just hoping the results start coming soon...

Van Bommel has experience....but the man is too cynical...
and he is getting too old...

I think we should try to get Sissoko back...he's only 25 and a fantastic
defensive midfielder...
it seems AC Milan and Aston Villa are potentially looking at him..

Suarez ....well he is young...and a good goalscorer...
I'm sure he will do well.....he can hit it off with Torres ...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Van Bommel is a player that every football fan hates if he doesn't play for his team. I think he's a good player to have in your team..of course he's not the youngest player and i also think Sissoko would be better but i'm not sure if he will return to Liverpool. Liverpool definitely need a Van Bommel-style player (be honest is Masscherano that much better than Van Bommel? I don't think so, they are quite similar).

I'm not sure about Suarez. He's having a bad season. Suarez was good at the WC, because he played with Forlan (and Cavani) who made him look good.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Gerrard on Kenny: "I want to do everything in my power to ensure that he stays here for a long time, beyond the initial six months."

Quite short-sighted of Gerrard and worrying that he's sticking his nose in again. There might be a better candidate available in the summer and it's too early to say yet.

On the other hand, there's definately a case for Dalglish staying as he's got us playing the football we've wanted for years and we're improving each game.

Just think it's a bit naive of Gerrard there.

Well you can't blame him.....I'm sure many of the fans want
to see Kenny staying on.....as would Kenny himself...
Gerrard is a life-long fan...so he would love to see Kenny there..

The problem is .....what would be a successful season under Kenny
given the situation he took over ?
The best we can hope for is 6th or 7th place....and a long run
in the Europa league....

He would need to fail big time AND
the arrival of a very good manager to displace him
and convince Gerrard/Carra and the fans....

which makes you think ....what were they smoking when they endorsed
Hodgson.

I would love to see Kenny succeed and be given the long run...
if he fails....then which other manager is going to come in ?
It will be tough for anyone to replace Kenny unless he has failed
miserably....and the fans close the chapter once and for all.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I heard rumors about Dalglish trying to get Balázs Dzsudzsák aswell. Even would pay for him the 12 million pounds.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

A left-winger too, interesting. Not heard his name before, or any rumours. One to keep an eye out for :)

As expected, looks like Babel will be part of potential Suarez deal

Fantastic news about Suso and Coady!!!! I would welcome Van Bommel.

Dzsudzsak is Hungary best player on wing.. he is very fast and with good skills... would be interesting to see how he does in better league..

Also:

What??? YAAAAAY!!!
Check this out then. Maybe not a Ronaldo or Arshavin but he is in
an outstanding form in the last TWO seasons.

PSV:
Season 2010-11 Appearances: 17 Goals: 9
Season 2009–10 Appearances: 32 Goals: 14
Season 2008–09 Appearances: 32 Goals: 11
Season 2007–08 Appearances: 17 Goals: 3

YouTube - Dzsudzsák Balázs "Remember the name"

Finnland vs Hungary. In injury time Dzsudzsák scores the winner.

But i think the deal is unlikely 'cause PSV already sold Affelay and i dont think they want to get a rid of another important player in the middle of the season.

That's good for Babel, TBH. Better than going to a Birmingham or a West Ham.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Downing - No thanks.

Young - I think he could add something. At least he can beat a man and that is definately missing out wide atm.

Agger - Great he's staying. Team plays more from the back when he's in team instead of launching long balls. Made a few mistakes in games since he's been back but I do like him. How Woy picked the Greek before him is a mystery to me.

Suarez - Only seen him play a handful of time during WC so can't really say either way.

Van Bommel - Again, no thanks. I don't want to see defensive midfielders anymore where that is their soul purpose. Get at teams! Attack is best form of defence.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Suso and Coady haven't been promoted to Melwood, they're training there for a few days as part of the familiarisation phase brought in a couple of years ago, every other month a couple of the youth team players will train with the first team for a week.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Suso looks pretty special but he only just turned 17 didn't he? don't think he's ready for first team football just yet. give him another year or two since he isn't physically the biggest either.

Im not convinced on Suarez, I think he's more Kuyt than Ruud ;))

If you lot pull that off it'll be a miracle. He's a self-professed Chelsea fan, and there are strong rumours they've already tried to buy him but he chose to stay for another few years in Belgium. His idol is Drogba too.

I mean, no offense but if one team is in the CL, is your boyhood team and has your idol able to teach you - seems a no brainer to me.

(he's going to be absolutely awesome one day, absolute beast of a player)

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Chelsea have already been turned down I've read, not sure whether it's by the club or the player though.

TSG Hoffenheim sign Liverpool´s Ryan Babel. About 7m € fee, according to "Bild".

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Bild is pretty reliable from what I know, Lukaku seems a top talent but im not sure you lot are the best at nurturing talents.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Rest assured that Chelsea isn't turned down, otherwise that would have been big news her in Belgium. It's Lukaku's dream to play for Chelsea.
But there is no need to speculate: Lukaku will stay in Belgium and this at least till the end of the season. Sunday there was an interview with him during Anderlecht's winter training camp in Spain. When the journalist asked him that it will be his last with Anderlecht he answered that he is pretty sure that there will be at least another one. Lukaku's father was a professional football player too (Standard Liège) and thinks it's better for him to stay at least one more season with Anderlecht and on top of that Lukaku wants to obtain is A levels....

Like i said unless there would come an absolutely insane offer, he will stay in Belgium. I'm pretty sure...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Dzsudzsák, could be as well naturall replacement for Babel.. but also Babel was perfect in Ajax...

he is same age and n.7 is free in LFC ... just saying :P
