Just read that Four Four Two voted Kenny as the best British post war striker.

Going back to the Blackpool game....
I thought Poulsen did well...some good passing in the 1st half...
Meireles was disappointing..
Kelly was good...
Kuyt was ok in the 1st half, and crap in the 2nd...
There is something wrong with a few United fans on this forum. Some of them think i have "an irrational hate towards United". It would be pretty stupid to hate a football club, you might aswell hate a lamp post.or a kitchen sink.
What i do not like at all is the way some United fans behave on the verge of arrogance. I really don't understand some fans, they are gloating in euphory because they support the most succesfull club of the two last decades. I don't understand that. Do they really think that they have any merits in this success? They haven't.
Dalglish is the best Brittish player ever (and now that we have sorted out that Northern Ireland really is a part of Great Brittain, that includes George Best).
If Cantona (the best player who ever played in Brittish football) would succede Ferguson, i think most United fans would be over the moon, although (unlike Dalgish) Cantona has proved nothing as a coach...
Give Dalglish time (more time than Hodgson, i'm still convinced that Hodgson never got a fair chance) and lets see what becomes of Liverpool. IMO this team needs to get rid of quite a few players (and i'm not talking about the usual suspects like Poulsen or Konchesky) and needs to buy better ones, but i'm fairly confident that next season Liverpool will be in the top six. That is as good as they were two years ago, because Man City and Spurs have joined the top 4.
Compared to Lucas who made 14, right?

I'm not sure where you get the idea that Best was only good for a couple of seasons,he spent over a decade in the Utd first team and was the leading goalscorer in most of them, that's including the team with the Lawman in it.I also don't get your comparison with the crazy Columbian goalkeeper, who in my opinion was a joke, are you saying Best was just a show pony? Your argument about silverware doesn't hold water either. Frank Leboeuf won the world cup does that make him a better player than Best?
I'm not having a dig at Kenny, as I said I consider him one of the finest players I've seen play in the flesh, just not in the same league as Best.

It's disappointing because he had the experience to do the job but not the players obviously'.

But that's part of the problem, he only really had 8 and half years in his prime (around 64 to the first walk out in 72). His demons (drink) took over by 72-73 and he was never the same level. He ended up almost becoming a virtual journeyman after 72, playing in South Africa, NASL and getting relegated with Scotland. Internationally he never even played at a World Cup or a European Championship. It's very hard to think of another massive profile player who's not played at a WC or Euros. Liam Brady maybe, but it was suspension that knocked him out of Euro 88.
The sad thing is, had Best not been so plagued by the drink he would have made the Northern Irish team in 82 (as a 36 year old at a small [population] country he would have had a great chance) but the drink meant age wasnt at all kind to him.
Two leagues and one European Cup (modern day CL) is a sadly small return for a player of such skill. It's Gazza syndrome, just like Best if he'd been able to lay off the sauce he could have been the greatest player from the UK.
Belgian press (Le Soir) reports that Liverpool will make £22m offer for young striker next week.
. He`s not the same man I know ,but in his days as a pool boss he was arrogant.Dags, Het Laatste Nieuws is the equivalent of The Sun...
I also read that Commoli will come to Brussels, but neither Anderlecht or Lukaku himslef want an transfer. Lukaku is desperate to obtain his A levels (well our equivalent of them). There will be no transfer unless an absolutely insane comes. Don't hope too much about this.
