yea i noticed that, i saw Poulsen play a steady game. kept the ball well and made good passes. nothing fancy but he isn't that type of player
lucas is impressing me i think he is becoming a big influence in the games
meireles was very disappointing, was his worst game for us
kelly looks solid, i hope he keeps his place but don't play johnson left back ffs play him right wing
i would like to see Suso get the odd 20 minutes and see what he can do

I thought Poulsen did well as well tbf, but that may be because Meireles looked like a fucking dog. Although i saw today that in the entire game Poulsen only attempted 5 tackles.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that Best was only good for a couple of seasons,he spent over a decade in the Utd first team and was the leading goalscorer in most of them, that's including the team with the Lawman in it.I also don't get your comparison with the crazy Columbian goalkeeper, who in my opinion was a joke,are you saying Best was just a show pony? Your argument about silverware doesn't hold water either. Frank Leboeuf won the world cup does that make him a better player than Best?

haven't seen the full stats tbh, someone put that Poulsen one on twitter earlier.
Also read on twitter that Roque Santa Cruz has only scored more than 5 league goals in a season once out of his 12 seasons in the Bundesliga and Premier League and that was his first season at Blackburn. That's a shocking statistic imo, just shows how badly Man City were ripped off after he'd had his only good season

But that's part of the problem, he only really had 8 and half years in his prime (around 64 to the first walk out in 72). His demons (drink) took over by 72-73 and he was never the same level. He ended up almost becoming a virtual journeyman after 72, playing in South Africa, NASL and getting relegated with Scotland. Internationally he never even played at a World Cup or a European Championship. It's very hard to think of another massive profile player who's not played at a WC or Euros. Liam Brady maybe, but it was suspension that knocked him out of Euro 88.
The sad thing is, had Best not been so plagued by the drink he would have made the Northern Irish team in 82 (as a 36 year old at a small [population] country he would have had a great chance) but the drink meant age wasnt at all kind to him.

The argument of Leboeuf is not a fair one (but neither was my Higuita one). I'm well aware of the fact that Best is much, much better than Leboeuf. But one could compare him with the stars of that French team like Henry and Zidane. To me there is no discussion although Best was more gifted than Henry, Henry clearly got more results and impact. I also think that the English league in which Best was a star was considerably weaker than the one in which Dalglish played. Also don't forget that (unfortunately) i'm old enough to have actually see playing both Dalglish and Best in their prime.
Lastly, you never answered my question about a comparision between Best and the Man Utd icons and besides Cantona, Scholes, Giggs that also includes Schmeichel (maybe he is the best Man Utd player ever), Charlton, Edwards (the only one i never saw playing) and Law...

That's why I don't even bother with which player is best on a forum. It's a simple system of setting your argument/comparison up based on certain criteria. But even then people go off on one ignoring the actual basis of the arguments presented.
To sum up (for those who care, which isn't me):
Technical skill only; Best win's
Slightly less skill but overal impact to team, league, trophies and consistancy: Dalglish win's.

I've also read that Liverpool will make an offer for Lukaku, they are pepared to pay 24 million euro (that is roughly 20 million pound).
Anderlecht's answer will be: no.
Lukaku himself is a Chelsea fan, but i think Liverpool would be better for him.

I've loads of respect for Daglish, as a player, and even more as a man,how he handled the Hillsborough situation was a credit to himself,his club and you as Liverpool fans.I believe that He and Marina attended every funeral, which is astounding. To compare or talk who i better than anyone is stupid.. Both Dalglish and Best are amazing legends of two clubs that are not suposed to be rivals... and were not rivals that big..
Only true rivals to Liverpool is Everton and that is how it should stay..United i dont consider bigest rivals.. it chainged only in 90s when United starting and achieved the same amount of League trophys as LFC.. other than that i realy look forward to a true derby against Everton...
we have to win.

Quite nervous but excited about today. Got a feeling that Everton might take the win as they'll have more confidence than we will but then we're at home for the first time under Kenny so the crowd should be buzzing.
Can see this being a draw but wouldn't be surprised with either team winning.

Surprising to see Spearing starting, bit of determination and passion in the team though.
Johnson at LB again disappoints me, especially with Aurelio on the bench. Coleman will rip Johnson to shreads.
Also Jovanovic is expected to join Trabzonspor next week.

I also read that Commoli will come to Brussels, but neither Anderlecht or Lukaku himslef want an transfer. Lukaku is desperate to obtain his A levels (well our equivalent of them). There will be no transfer unless an absolutely insane comes. Don't hope too much about this.

Fair result in the end.
Johnson actually played really well, as did Kelly. Still not sure about him on the left, but he seems more solid defensively on that side. Don't remember much getting past him today. Kelly looked good of the most part, although he did have a poor spell against Anichebe in the 2nd half.
The main issue is a lack of quality at CD, Agger having to go off made it tougher to keep possesion, and a lack of quality up front. Can't really remember many good individual attacking plays that didn't originate from Torres, there was far more decent build up play (Kuyt/Kelly and one of the cm-ers) though. Without Gerrard the team is blunted.
Time will tell, as this is a special match, but the team seems to be playing far better now. Reina hardly hoofed the ball up, same for the defenders, and there is far more focus on keeping possesion and playing the ball on the ground. I think with maybe a signing or two and Carra and Gerrard getting back the team should be solid enough to make the top half. A run of 3 wins should even put the team back into the top 6/7.
Hopefully Clarke can get the training right and sort the defense out as they can go at sea when under pressure.

Kuyt was tremendous especially in the second half, he started the Liverpool charge, played with absolute determination (and some wrenching tackles too, loved it). He's probably the 'scouser' Liverpool were looking for in this game.

Skrtel is a liability, has been dodgy all season and would rather see Wilson there or Kelly and put Johnson at RB until we find a better CB.
Not overly impressed with Kuyt or Maxi, limited creativity from both.
