Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Very happy to read the following: "He is also not happy that John Henry is in many discussions with Commolli and not Roy."

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

United fans really do try to find a fault in everything Liverpool fans do or say

I'm sure United fans have never created banners before though, or made crazy posts in their forums...

But then we don't tend to trawl through Man Utd websites more than our own...

I can't wait for Ferguson to retire though, it has to be said. Utd fans laughing so much about Rafa/Roy but then how many of these fans were around when the fans turned on Ferguson not long after he became Utd manager? Ferguson isn't going to be around forever, and a manager like him comes by very rarely, it'll be interesting to see reactions if/when a new manager comes in and doesn't match the Utd fans' standards. And let's be honest, I'm betting that a HUGE amount of Utd fans weren't around before Fergie took over.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

There are RAWK threads on Arsenal and Chelsea forums too I've heard.

Really? Why don't we see Chelsea or Arsenal fans in here posting RAWK quotes then? As it seems it's only one person really who posts RAWK stuff in here and who isn't a Liverpool fan...

Funny that YoungGun posts a Liverpool photo, then uses the word "Obsessed"

Anyway, getting back on topic with discussion with the Liverpool fans, this is another good piece by Paul Tomkins:

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

That guy from RAWK you posted reminded me of that Manc weirdo always coming in here with the nails in his head. :D

If those comments about the teamtalk are true it's shocking, however that is precisely the impression I get from English managers.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Oh oke, don't think that is the case in England, but could be wrong.

Now the news is he hasn't been sacked...yet. There goes my theory :D
I doublechecked and I was wrong. The contracts are finished in different ways. For example Liverpool finished his contract by paying him like 5 M, wasnt it ?
But, Moratti tends to do that in his agreements. As you can notice in his history, he has no kind of problem in firing coaches. When he fired Cuper, he put that clause in their agreement, and Hector ended earning every penny they had agreed.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

He's out of Inter baby, now let the Hodgson out rally begin ! *joking*

Seriously Liverpool aren't thinking about bringing Rafa back right?

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Says mutual consent on the Inter website. http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=35392&L=en

No payoff then I guess?

Us obsessed???

What?!?!?!?!?!

1. Nobody in this thread has called Liverpool fans obsessed. It was said that United fans are obsessed with you lot.

2. That effigy was made by a local firework display in Kent who have a celebrity 'Guy' every year, choosing someone who's been in the news for something bad. Not that it has anything to do with what you said?!

3. What?!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

:?:?:?

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

No, they always put mutual consent. When Purlsow fired Rafa, the statement also said mutual consent.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Inter owe Rafa around €3 million. He was a disappointment for the 6 months he was there. The players didn't seem motivated and his team were too slow when attacking. He had to rely on players like Eto'o to win matches. Mourinho got the team to play as a unit, where as Rafa seemed to do the opposite and made his team look a bit like pussies compared to last year.

I think he lacked class when openly criticizing Moratti. Need signings? The team you just got won three titles last season and required over £40m spent last summer. Poor excuse for poor performances.

I completly agree with you stef...Inter still has a good squad, but comùing after Mourinho is not good...i'm pretty sure nobody would have done better.
Those players are saturated.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

It's an interesting description you use Gerd, saturation. Now I'm not picking up on it to defend Benitez, but does anybody else think the way Mourinho manages his teams (very much with mental aspects playing a role) that whenever he leaves it's a pretty unhealthy team that gets left behind?

You always see how players absolutely love Mourinho and I would expect any manager coming after him to be screwed by that. It's not like he stays long enough for the team/club to plateau, by which I mean they have succes, no succes, succes, no succes, no succes, succes, etc (ala Fergie). He comes in, makes the team work their arses off and fight tooth and nail for each other and him and he/they win leagues. However after he left Chelsea it took them 3, 4 years? to win the league again / overcome the different manager(s).

I can imagine the Inter players having a similar hangover and just not responding to Benitez.

The thing is that Rafa said that when he signed the contract Moratti promised him signings. Plus, I dont think Inter squad is that strong, plus now there is a lot more competition in the Seria A than in the years of Mourinho. You also have to take into account that Moratti sold players that werent usually starters but are good, and that there was a major injury crisis in Inter (Benitez said it was produced because Mourinho doesnt have a schedule in the gym).

But that's only really part of the story. Yes Milan and Juventus are stronger than last year. But both Napoli and Lazio are far far ahead of Inter in terms of points and these teams are not vastly stronger than they were last year in terms of player aquisitions. Lazio have got Hernanes but had to sell Kolarov, Napoli have got Cavani and Sosa but lost Quagilarella, Datolo and Denis. It would be one thing if Inter were only far behind Milan and Juventus but actually they are far behind quite a few teams.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Tiktik,

Yes i have the same feeling. Every coach after Mourinho is fucked. Certainly high profile managers. That's why Grant did well after Mourinho...he was low profile and absolutely loved by the players (i remember the players reaction when Grant first came to Stamford Bridge with Portsmouth...they genuinely were fond of Grant...i have the impression Grant is not a particular adapt coach, but a nice human being).

After Mourinho clubs need a low profile coach and not another high profile coach like Benitez (i have the impression Benitez is aware of that because he kept low key while at Inter).

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Mourinho was taunting Rafa when he was appointed at Inter. He kept saying that Rafa should find it easy to win everything because Mourinho already built a strong team. He also said stuff like the CWC actually being Mourinho's trophy.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

2-0 up against the then leaders (who were then on very good form), it is that surprising?

it is,clear it downfield to one and it'll come right back to you.we've never played that negatively, ever.its not only that game as evident in other pic

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Serious question, if Rafa does get reappointed will he have to give back some of the payoff from last time?

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

I can't see why he would have to, surely there's no legal ruling to say that he couldn't return to a previous workplace and forfeit compensation? Highly unlikely.

But then there's very little chance of Rafa coming back anyway. Apparantly Sevilla are a probable destination for him?
