Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Looks like the media are starting to give up on their En-ger-lander for top jobs campaign with more and more regurgitating what has been said by fans for a couple of months now.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

What a dreadfull performance.
And once again Hodgson gets all the stick. There is much more wrong in Liverpool than Hodgson. Your team maybe needs a new manager, but much more than that, you need lots of new and better players. Did you watch Skrtel and Kyriakos' defending just before Wolves' goal...dramatic. These players are simply not good enough for a big team like Liverpool (both were bought by Benitez). Joe Cole, better than Messi...LOL. And then Gerrard himself...pathetic. This team needs 5 or 6 new players and the rest of this season as preparation for the new one. With a litle luck Liverpool can still win the Euro League (that is if they are still in it, i'm not sure about that...if not...i'm sorry).

And yes Hodgson should be sacked. Not because he was that bad, but to give the club a pretext to come hard (very hard) upon the players.

There is one big consolation for you: 2011 will be a better year for Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Me and Abou got accused of WUMing for saying that. Most Liverpool fan's think Captain Fantastic™ is a brilliant central midfielder.

abou is just outspoken you on the other hand push your opinion too much. I personally enjoy it you provide some insight stuff (the Larry David of evo) plus you don`t get offended and take nothing personal. :TU:

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

I'm pretty sure we've had this Gerrard debate tons of times already and the last time we all agreed that we play better without him in the side? Still, that doesn't fit the arguement so don't mind me or the previous discussions.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

imo nobody cares anymore to play for him, he clearly lost the squad and i realy doubt he ever had it... if i was a pro player and i knew what stupid quotes and interviews he is talking about, what crazy decisions he makes during match and what totaly unreal formations he is building...or throwing from his experience i would rather run from the club than play for this man...Mascherano got it and run as fast as he could..

if Roy stayes i´m confident we will almost shurely lose Torres and Agger, Reina will follow... we are in the battle of staying in the Premier league soon with matches we have to win but shurely against better teams than Wolverhampton...

Untill Roy is our manager we are f...ed.

do you guys realize Blackpool has less games played and are in a higher position then most clubs including poopypool  .Supposedly they were due to be regulated .

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

I cant believe Hodgson is still asking for time and trying to blame
the fans for not supporting him......

How can a manager not get the blame ?.....he is paid to motivate the players
and setup tactics that will help us win against mighty teams like Wolves
and Blackpool....

If he cannot even do that...he deserves to go....
and yet he says he deserves to stay and cannot do any better with
the same players who for all their faults finished 2nd 2 years ago
and played in the world cup.....

But the problem is NESV...and before that Purslow...in their non-footballing background....made bad decisions.

I cannot see NESV doing anything....they will replace Hodgson
end of season...when we fail to make Europe...

And that's mainly due to? Yep, their manager, who's doing a fantastic job with the players at the club there.

Just out of interest by the way, how old are you?

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Hodgson is an prick, he wont resign....he waits to be fired

about failing europe, we already can forget about it.

that is with Hodgson, or any of his future potencial players..

cmon dagsJT it was a cheap dig no pun intended :FAIL: . My son support Liverpool since `03 and even though he`s not a local. He is even finding it hard to even watch football. He knows these are dark days he just hoping for some sort of sunlight somewhere.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

You failed to get into Europe last season too remember. Only allowed in because Portsmouth weren't able to get a UEFA license.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

As you've already said

In actual NEW news, not something that keeps being repeated in a rubbish attempt at winding people up (again):

Tony Barrett writes about Roy Hodgson and #LFC owners in tomorrow's Times. Says they're running out of patience and want to see a revival in fortunes on the field or the manager may face the consequences. Sympathetic but concerned he's yet to deliver.

Tony Barrett says owners are reluctant to change manager halfway through the season, but were "far from impressed" with Roy's comments expressing his "hope that those fans would become supporters".

Tony also writes that Roy's "reaction to chants calling for his removal has put him at odds with his employers and their direction."

 If you lot keep using European qualification as a stick to beat Roy then I might as well remind you Rafa didn't qualify for it last season either seeing as he's your god and it seems to be forgotten.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Look at your contributions to this thread today. A post having a go at Gerrard and trying to get a raise out of Liverpool fans, then another post repeating something you said not long ago but decided to bring it up again even though we're already aware of it.

"Devils advocate" or not, it'd be more interesting if you actually contributed something worthwhile to the thread every now and then instead of constant childish WUM attempts. I know I'm not the only one bored of them, even an Arsenal supporter has commented.

And which "lot" have been using European qualification as a "stick" to beat Roy with? We're three points from the relegation zone, five points from the bottom, we're losing games left right and centre, his tactics are baffling, his press conferences and comments are unprofessional and lack any sort of class, his attitude towards his players and fans is disgusting and he doesn't show any kind of ambition at all.

I think they're enough "sticks" to beat him with, and that's without Europe being mentioned.

I wasn't having a go at Gerrard and I wasn't trying to get a rise. Just commenting to Tik that when I've said exactly what he said I was accused of winding up. Is it only a valid opinion if a Liverpool fan thinks it?

I agree with that last bit, which is why I (again) pointed out that Rafa didn't really qualify last season either seeing as the Liverpool fans in this thread seem to want him back. Just doesn't make sense to use Europe against Hodgson when he's done plenty of other stuff wrong and Benitez didnt manage it himself anyway.

Here's 2 posts I was replying to:

I think the whole thing is a vicious circle. He's right what he said about the fans, although he probably shouldn't have said it. You can't say his attitude towards the fans has been poor when he's had worse back the other way and had to put up with what he has had to, it can't be easy. He hasn't had any support at all and this will affect him and the players, the performances on the pitch will suffer which will then make the fans worse and the cycle continues.

His position is definitely untenable now, if he lasts til the end of the season I'd be astounded but I do think if he'd had the crowd behind him the situation wouldn't be as bad as it is now.

By his own admission he was brought in to stop the rot and he hasn't done that, he's just helped push Liverpool further down the way they were going. It's happened to plenty of other clubs before and it'll happen again (Leeds, Blackburn, Newcastle), it's just not happened to a club as big as Liverpool so its more noticable.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Me, outspoken, beboq? There are a lot of words I could use to describe myself but outspoken wouldn't be one of them.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Hodgson claims to have the support of his players.....
well then why are they not playing for him ?

If Rafa was sacked for losing the dressing room .....(Gerrard/Carra)
and players looked disinterested...
then why are they looking even worse this season...

I see Ian Holloway....a team that got promoted to the top
division of England.....after many years....
playing good football....and winning with a team of little top level
experience...

Hodgson was not brought in so that we can become a worse team...
Last season we finished on 63 points.....

This season we are on 22 points after 18 games....almost half-way.
There has been a marked regression....and Hodgson has to go !!

Get in Rijkaard.....he is the only sensible long-term solution.
Get rid of Gerrard and Carragher and all those who yield too much
power .... we need players who will do the job..and not try to
get the manager replaced...or have a say in which players to sign.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opi...should-be-fired-at-Anfield-article660507.html

NESV don't have a clue.....they are not football people....our club was sold by non-footballing
people to a non-footballing owner.......and while NESV are not as bad as Hicks/Gillet...
their support for Hodgson is a joke......are they doing this to save money ....are they being
misguided by Purslow who brought in Hodgson ?

I cannot understand the logic in papers saying Hodgson has 1 more game or 2 more weeks to
turn it around......he has had 18 league games....half the season...and 22 pts on board....
What is 1 more game going to do ?
Please end this nightmare

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

This is Henry and Werner's first test now, and all eyes are on them. Even the media are turning on Hodgson and there's a ton of pressure on FSG to sack Roy. If they sit this out and wait until the summer, it could be disastrous for us. And along with us playing Championship football, all faith in FSG will obviously be gone.

For their own sake as much as the clubs and everyone else, they must sack Roy to keep the fans' confidence in them.

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Hodgson is an prick, he wont resign....he waits to be fired..

That must be one of the most "naïve" (and i use that word not to offend you, i am being considerably nicer towards you than you are towards Hodgson) posts on this forum...yes sir we definitely have the winner of the decade.

What would you do in his place? Imagine you are a carpet seller...you know that you don't get the results that everyone expects from you. Will you resign without having any rights? No you won't...you will wait for the inevitable all the while trying to turn things around.
Hodgson is not a prick, he does what everybody would do, including you. You tend to forget that to you Liverpool is a passion but nothing more than that. To Hodgson, Liverpool is an income...

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

About Blackpool and Holloway.
I remember similar praise for Hull and their manager and now Hull are in the championship and i can't even remember the guy's name (it was he of the half time team talk on the pitch).

Same goes for Reading and Steve Coppell, where are they now.

Lets wait a couple of years before judging Blackpool and Holloway. I want to see them next season...

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Did anyone else see Hodgson's last press comments before he was sacked at Udinese?

'I am very happy to be back at this level of football, but I could have chosen a better club to come back to. It's an extremely strange club. The players and I don't feel we are being as well supported as we should be at the moment but maybe that will change.'

Sounds familiar, almost like he knew that saying that got him sacked from Udinese so he's trying the same again. Looks like mouthing off to the press is the new craze for trying to get yourself sacked these days :)

Joe Cole also has an ankle injury and not sure whether he'll be able to play against Bolton :BRICK: For the talent he's got, I was excited about him signing but he really is just a constant injury. Problem is we won't even be able to sell him as nobody will pay similar wages.

May i ask on what basis are you judging Woy Hodgson? Please tell me on the 35yrs managerial experience of his or his one flukey year(last)?

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

I'm not judging Hodgson, i was only commenting on the premature praise for Holloway.
I never said that Hodgson is a fantastic manager. But at the moment he is caoching a teams at it's own level.
The team (not the club) that he got from Benitez is a very mediocre team. A team that only qualified for the Euro Ligue due to circumstances off the pitch (like Jumbo pointed out).

I think laying all the blame with Hodgson is fooling yourself. Of course he is not doing a good job, but the players are responsible too...in similare circumstances a manager is always a very fitting scape goat.

Just face it, like Hodgson is no top coach, Liverpool has no top team right at the moment...

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

OptaJoe Opta Sports
6 - The last Liverpool manager to win fewer than six of his first 18 league games in charge was George Kay (5) back in 1936. Crisis.

I think Blackpool will be fine if they carry on with the way that they play.

Hull did really well when they played attacking football and went for games. For some unkown reason they started to play hard. They started to kick teams about and it just didn't work. It was like they resigned themselves to being a little team that couldn't match the other teams. When in reality they could. Then they started acting like idiots with the whole Arsenal spitting incident, where they just ended up looking like complete mugs. They should have just concentrated on playing their football.

Hopefully Holloway continues to play the way they have. They will get beaten heavily some games, but they will definately win more games I think.

But you are right, many teams have had a good half season (or decent whole season) and then just withered away. It will definately be interesting on how Blackpool do next season.

You have been saying that Hodgson is a good manager, his Fulham played better than Rafa's Liverpool.Based on one season?Even when we always finish above em?I am laying the blame solely on that senile twat and will continue to do so.If he doesnt respect the fans dont see why we should even bother. And yes we may have no "top" team, but are you seriously telling me me that the likes of stoke, blackpool, wolves have a better team than ours? The team that he inherited from Benitez were pretty much the same team that nearly won the damn league!(exclude Alonso,Arbeloa,Mascherano add Glen Johnson,Meireles)Its pretty much the same squad but you will be surprised to know bout his pre historic tactics(which british managers are tactically inept anyways),the way even reina, torres, agger look completely clueless now.Woy Hodgson is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.WOY HODGSON,F**K OFF out of my club. And take Kuntchesky with ya....

Re: Liverpool Thread(HODGSON OUT!!)

Where did i say that Stoke, e.a. are better than Liverpool?
When i said that Fulham played good football under Hodgson, i reacted to dags who said that Fulham were a long ball team. Fulham played good technical football under Hodgson, but they were not a top team...they were Fulham...but a very good Fulham.

Liverpool is not where it is because of Hodgson...the decline had started under Benitez.
