I've not seen it yet but John W. Henry and Tom Werner were on LFC TV and taking live questions. Roy Hodgson appears to have taken an absolute SLAUGHTERING from the fans and while the presenter tried to dodge them, the owners clearly got the message that the fans aren't happy with Roy :D

At least they admitted that our play and results this season haven't been acceptable :D

People appear to be very impressed with Henry's answers and the way he came across, the opposite for Werner though.

Henry also stated that if the Liverpool fans are against it, then a groundshare is out of the question :D

Someone I follow on Twitter said he'd give £10 to a charity of the players choice if Lucas, Babel or Johnson score and celebrate by doing the Roy face rub :LOL: People have been chipping in and it's up to something like £250 now if one of the players does it :D

Well as a neutral, i now almost wish Hodgson would be sacked, to see if this makes any difference. I think the team is weak. Last year wasn't that much better than this season.

I also think Hodgson's Fulham are underestimated here. IMO their football was more attractive than Benitez Liverpool (with the exeption of that wonderfull season where they ended second and deserved to win the title). But football is about results and Benitez had results...

I think Benitez (like Mourinho) is among the top managers in the world, i just don't like the football their clubs play. Too defensive generally. Liverpool is a club that should dominate 95% of their matches. Under Hodgson this certainly isn't the case, but was this the case under Benitez? I doubt it.

What you've got understand gerd, is that hasn't been the case at Liverpool since 1988, and Benitez got us closer to it than any man has since then. When he had all his players fit and playing well we were unstoppable, the problem with that of course is that Gerrard and Torres got injured with their national teams almost every time they played, so it was hard to get the whole team together playing well and fully fit as often as we'd like.

I'm certainly not saying that Benitez is infallable, of course he's not, but i honestly think we'd be doing better this season had he stayed (we'd still have Aquilani for a start, and wouldn't have signed Konchesky or Poulsen).

I disagree about Fulham, they did well in the Europa League, and played good football at times, but i think people overrate them because they're a "small team", Hodgson got the best out of his players there because of the mentality he has "come on lads, they're expected to beat us, lets show them we're better than that", but that mentality is ingrained in him and that's why he doesn't suit the bigger clubs in my opinion. That attitude doesn't work, he should be going into game with the attitude "we're Liverpool, we should be up at the top, we fear nobody" but instead before every game he's talking about how we might lose and we shouldn't expect to win, how it'll take luck to get a result etc. He's a gritty, battler of a manager, but he hasn't got the technical or tactical ability to bring the best out of top players, there's only so much an arm on the shoulder and a wink can do.

I tend to agree with your last paragraph. Roy hasn't got the conqueror mentality to manage a real big team like Liverpool. Personally i liked watching Fulham play..they seemed much better under Hodgson than now...

Only with Aquilani in our team, there would be a major difference. Ask to any of the Juventus fans in the forum if you dont believe me. Since he started playing regularly they havent loose any match. They are on a 7 wins, 5 draws row I think. And they are going to buy him for 13. 5 m to be paid during 3 years. What a awsome business we did.
As you said, Benitez wouldnt have brought Poulsen, Konchesky, BRAD JONES, or Joe Cole. Remember how Benitez got rid off all those tumors in 2004/2005 ?
It is said that Inter is going to fire Benitez either he wins or loose. It would be interesting to see what happens then.

Yeh that was my point about Aquilani, he looks brilliant and i think Rafa would have started him regularly. OK we probably wouldn't have Raul Meireles who does look quality, but then he wouldn't really be missed with a midfield of Lucas, Gerrard and Aquilani with Maxi and Jovanovic on the wings and Torres up front (although i get the feeling Rafa would have signed another striker before the season - and it wouldn't have been Carlton Cole).

Yes, and he could also play with Meireles. Meireles-Gerrard and Aquilani in an advanced role. Maybe if we bring Luciano Spalletti (who is having a lot of success in Zenit) we could convince him to reject Juventus offer.

Like I said, I'd definately have Rafa back. Considering the conditions he had to work under, he got us a Champions League trophy, reached another final and got us our best Premier League finish. We also become the number one team in Europe. And all with his hands pretty much tied.

Roy's defeatist attitude, his negativity away from home, it's just not going to improve us at all. Can anyone honestly see Roy winning a CL? Pushing to win the PL? Getting us to be the best team in Europe again? Never going to happen.

Speaking of not happening, I hear Spalletti is on a HUGE contract at Zenit and it'd make it extremely hard to get him. Rumour has it that Inter want him but Moratti doesn't want to pay the fortune it'd take to get Zenit to release him.

Names being talked about are Villas Boas, Sanchez Flores and Klopp. Whether any of those are realistic is debatable as well I guess.

The good thing about the owners is that they are in this for winning.
And sooner or later that will benefit the club.....

Hodgson is a decent manager, but he is not the type of manager
who can make us compete within the top 4...where we need someone
with a winning mentality ...especially away from home.

We can't afford any more mistakes.

Whoever is the next manager must be someone who is a winner and
who loves the club

Rafa is one of them, but his stock has fallen...and he made his share
of mistakes....I am not too sure about him.
He would be roasted by the media and pundits....even at the slightest
mistake....
I doubt NESV will take him....considering the bad press Rafa is getting
and his last season with us being a failure.

Dalglish looks like being given a major role in the club....
will they put him in charge? unlikely given his age....
and time out of management.

Rijkaard ...I think the fans will like his attacking football.....
he will be able to bring in big names...
But his galatasaray adventure was a debacle.....so not exactly filled with confidence.

Spalletti...good record...with Zenit and Roma...
but not sure...he may be better off in Italy.

Villas Boas....seems good...but not very proven outside Portugal.
Also yet to win a league title ...
Flores I think we should avoid......he is having a bad time at Atletico..

But I think Comolli will have a big role to play in this....
Hodgson has to change his precedence of not winning much away in 35 years
to make sure he stays....it is doubtful.

Why comedy? Rafa was not sacked in the era of current LFC ownership...If not majority but i think half of fans never wanted Rafa to quit.. besides, he was great in comunicating with media...leaving out the bullshit and not making comments like Hodgson now does... With Rafas spell he won more than any other foreign coach coming from foreign league and culture to the UK. Not to mention he did not gived a damn about respecting SAF stupid comments...or anybodys...that is why he was hated... English media are worst in world and i am realy surprised he was so strong all this time with all this on his head.. ok he might not work great with Inter but his record with Liverpool is enough to know he was best for us or could be best again from any other contenders...

I would take him anytime, over any of possible candidates...i am not the admirer of some of his tactics but he had to work under the owners Hicks and Gillet....now with owners who care and with backing he would do better job that i am shure...

TBH I don't think Rafa coming back would be a good idea, not so much his own skill but just the atmosphere you would have with players not liking him anymore, or just tired of him, 50% of the fans being sick of him and ofcourse the media being able to start a witchhunt from day one. It would be doomed imo.

Joe Cole was a player I was excited to have but he's been a disappointment, although he didn't play long before he got injured to be fair. Since coming back from injury, he's offered us nothing whatsoever and really needs to up his game.

In saying that, it's believed that he and Carragher are likely the people that Henry and Werner were talking about when they were some players are massively overpaid so not sure if he'll be allowed to stick around if he doesn't improve.

Yes, we wanted as a team player. From the beginning I said that signing a player on the promise that he was going to be the advanced playmaker off the team, was a extremely bad idea. A player has to gain it spot.

Happy to know that this owners agree with me. But, who is going to want Carragher, Joe Cole, Konchesky and the rest of Roy ´s boys taking into account the contracts they are on ?
Insted of doing one step foward, we did ten steps backwards last summer.

Wenger won more in his first six years for arsenal than rafa for Liverpool? i dont know for shure...

about 50% being sick with Rafa..i´m shure more than 50% are now sick with Hodgson..... Rafa is classes above Hodgson...

tbf Wenger won most of his honours in the first 6 years of his reign (2 Leagues, 2 FA Cups, 3 Charity Shields and he was rnner up in the league 3 times, so in his first six years he only finished outside the top 2 once.

Wenger was the most successful for sure.....

I think after Dalglish, the most successful manager within Liverpool
have been in this order
-Rafa (CL, FA cup, top 4, CL final)
-Houllier (Treble, etc..)
-Roy Evans (League cup, FA cup runners up, top 3)
-Souness (won FA cup)

Can't see Hodgson doing much....he looks so frustrated on the
sidelines...it's embarassing....
The problem is...who do we replace him with ?

even if Rafa won nothing, still we played football that had tactics, he had his own system, we were beating top clubs at their ground...in CL... one mistake season and the stupid owners then fired him..
