Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Argentina were on another planet today Pepe was in shambles by the 15 min mark w/ 2 brilliant technical goals. His spirit was down. Messi raped Spain`s back line and kissing his badge was brilliant . You don`t get many opportunity to shine for Spain as a GK. Pepe couldn`t deal w/ the 1v1 and all goals were 1v1s.

I even saw Fab trying to take out Messi :SMUG: imagine that! :BRMM:
I dont think that we were that good. We never had the ball, we just encountered ourselves with 2 goals after Spain lost the ball in their own half, and then the lucky third gol.
Pepe had nothing to do in the 1 vs 1 neither. Messi's finishing was perfect and against Higuain he obstruct him well and then Higuain made a very difficult shot with almost no angle and he scored it anyway.

I'm beginning to think Neoexodus has a bit of a man-crush on Gerrard and is stalking him, some random photos being posted here now...

ok 4-1 and a cracking disallow goal. Not that good :COAT:

results should stand for something :P

I like Gerrard and there are too many things to kid about him. There was a discussion in here about players changing to rivals that I thought it was good to introduce an humouristic note (see other posts in the forum, I'm a bit humourist) so I used a player I respect and admire a lot. But ok I'm gone. :COAT:

But Argentina, didnt do much to be winning 3-0. The first three goals started with some serious errors from Spain. And Argentina didnt control the ball and didnt generate chances from their own and not by Spain ´s mistakes.

it`s football you take ur chances errors are part of being torn apart  I get it though you`re humble. Pepe was off his mark if only he would of stayed the whole match. If a gk made 10 saves n 2 blimey ....GK usually loses.

Re: Liverpool Thread

definetly, some keepers are way to overrated..for example Peter Cech, Cassilas, etc..

keepers that have world class defence before them, or great team, usualy dont have as much work as others..

take Given for Newcastle, Akinfeev for CSKA, and many more are not wors than the ovhyped Goalkeepers we all would name in few seconds...

Funnily enough, keepers like Given and Akinfeev are overrated IMO because they have little more to their game than just shot-stopping and excellent reflexes.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Casillas is over-rated huh?!

Wow... don't even know what to say to that! And yah over the years, REal Madrid has ALWAYS had a GREAT set of defenders in front of him protecting him greatly!

Re: Liverpool Thread

At this moment in time, I don't think there are any GKs that are far ahead of everyone. 2 seasons ago I would've put Casillas up there, and last season I'd have said Julio Cesar and maybe Van der Saar. Right now though, I haven't really seen any super-unbeatable goalies.

Re: Liverpool Thread

agree with Milanista..

and besides...i did not say Casillas is overrated, but he is now considered best world keeper wich i think he is not.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Come on, Casillas is great.
Cech is less good than beofre his injury, but to play like he does after such an injury is extraordinay.
It is much more difficult to be a GK with a big club than with Newcastle...a big club GK maybe has one or two balls during 90 minutes. That's Almunia's problem with Arsenal. He was great against Barcelona in the CL. Put him a goal with a team like Stoke or Blackburn and people consider him the best GK of the Premiership.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I`ll tell ya whose shite atm beside Almunia & Flappyski is PEPE Reina! :P

my friend, i try to say this for once..

Goal keeper main important thing on pitch is to save what is shoot on him...keep the ball of the goal line..

now to talk who is best is pointless, since...if Cassilas was best...you have to compare him with all keepers in world..wich is impossible to do.

also.. if we take Spain league..in wich he might be the best, what is this information based on? becouse he playes for Madrid? bullshit..

compare all Spain league Keepers, their minutes and saves - shoots like it is done in NHL

then he might be best in Spain, but what about England, is he better than england keepers..

well for that we would have to do simillar table from Premier league keepers statistics - most minutes played, most shoots on goal covered, most clean sheets etc...

then you would have to do the same in Italy, Germany, whole world..

then you could say he is best in the world.

The thing he is FIFA world champion means nothing, well not nothing but to say he is best, he have to compete in HIS AREA with all the rest keepers in...lets say Spain, or UEFA leagues...i talk now only about the top flight leagues..

To make this statiscitcs would be very interesting..but it would be fair and i am realy shure top 5 or top keeper would be someone else..

Re: Liverpool Thread

Expected team for today: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky, Maxi, Poulsen, Lucas, Jovanovic, Gerrard, Torres.

Konchesky and Poulsen, two new lads, in the same team.

Still can't believe Konchesky's in a Liverpool shirt :SHAKE: I hope he proves me wrong and turns out to be a great player for us but I very much doubt it.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He'll be alright, but nothing too special. Hodgson's hand was forced with the new league rules with homegrown players. He needed a left back and he needed English players, the alternative I suppose was Wayne Bridge but his wages would have been astronomincal.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why have we got two def midfielders again?! Against a team like Birmingham means we are pretty much relying on Torres and Gerrard to be our only hope of scoring.......

Re: Liverpool Thread

Poulsen and Lucas is a recipe for shitness. Either one, fine, but both is insane. Playing two DMs was what got Rafa into bother but at least one of them was Mascherano.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Not sure what the problem is with you two? It's clear that Birmingham are a huge attacking threat and will make a title challenge in May, OF COURSE we need Poulsen AND Lucas!

:SHAKE:
