Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I hope not! Didier needs to stay at OM and I don't think he really wants to move either. Probably just speculation.

Re: Liverpool Thread

The Marseille president has confirmed that Purslow did ask about Deschamps, yes.

Not sure why, Hodgson is pretty much a done deal AFAIK.

Maybe Hodgson is not a done deal ....

why would Liverpool take so long if it was Hodgson....

The fact that we have potentially spoken to Pellegrini, Rijkaard, Deschamps
shows that Hodgson is not first choice.

I would prefer someone younger, with more attacking football.
Pellegrini or Rijkaard would be great.

you make it sound like he`s playing  his brain n experience is the value.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep, although the news that he wil have limited influence on transfers is bad news. I guess he is the best to have as a transitional manager to keep the club afloat while the yanks f#$k off.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Tbf i've heard the exact opposite, that he asked for guarantees from the board about transfer budgets and he's been guaranteed anything he brings in from player sales will be given to him to spend pending the board's approval on a player to player basis.

It's also been suggested that there's already £15m in the transfer kitty to be added.

Which could potentially mean he could have around £50-55m if things go well (£25-30m Mascherano, £6m Benayoun, £4m Riera). But then this is Liverpool and lately nothing has gone to plan.

Re: Liverpool Thread

im hoping insua has lost some weight, that chubby little f**cker was too slow reacting last season. He played most of the season aswell but never lost the moobs and slight belly.

As were blimming broke we cant afford a left back and aurellios left

Re: Liverpool Thread

I don't think Insua will be here next season, Italian clubs have been asking about him I've heard.

Re: Liverpool Thread

In exchainge with Vargas + money? :D just joking

hope Insua stayes...and realy hope Pellegrini will be our new manager..

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good luck fellas. Maybe Hodgson is the best person atm to bring some peace to the team. I can see him bringing in a few boys from Fulham. Zamora?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Zamora would be great but Jovanovic should come so i think Zamora is not needed...

Dempsey at the other side... ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Jovanovic might not be coming in the end. Isn't Gera a good player as well?

Re: Liverpool Thread

He did pretty well last season (mainly in Europe) but he's never shown too much before that, at least not enough for a club with Liverpool's expectations. He linked up well with Zamora as a shadow striker when Dempsey was out injured.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think Dempsey would be perfect, Benayoun became a moaning slutbag last season...Dempsey can link play well and provide an attacking option so I'd love him a L'Pool

....if insua goes who are we gonna have a left back?
I know glen johnson plays there, i hope bloody deggen doesnt!

Re: Liverpool Thread

It would fucking crazy to let a player like Insua go. He has an incredible future, he is one of the few wonderkids we have and we are going to let him go ?

Re: Liverpool Thread

“He won everything and last year they demanded too much from him.”

Poor Nando being drugged by Rafa.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Roy it is. Very good appointment, especially if Gerrard and Torres stay.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I can't think of a single player i'd want him to bring from Fulham, maybe Hangelaand but that's it. Dempsey is overrated and wouldn't get in our team, Zamora had a half-decent season but it seemed better because every other season he's been utter shit, he didn't get into double figures in the league last year.

While i'm not exactly ecstatic that we've got Hodgson, i'm confident that it's probably the right thing to do right now, he won't be here for the long haul and once we get new owners they'll bring their own man in (unless Hodgson is the real messiah and wins everything of course :P)

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think so mate.

Jovanovic has confirmed he's signed for us now :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great. I havent seen a lot of Hodgson team matchs. Is he ofensive or defensive minded ?

Re: Liverpool Thread

His Fulham side played quite pragmatic football but it was fairly attacking and attractive.
