Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Some of those are amazing, that one at 2:52 especially

Yeah some nice artwork but fuck me, if you want rid of your owners so bad do something proactive, not show off your photoshop skills.

"Oh shit George, the locals have made some pictures with a dead bird on, I think we should sell up for peanuts."

Re: Liverpool Thread

Isn't that the same as wearing different colour scarves to Old Trafford? Kinda like "Oh shit Malcolm, the locals are wearing yellow and green instead of red, I think we should sell up for peanuts."

No?

Green and Gold is a very visual symbol that shows we're against the way they run the club and anyone of any age can join in just by wearing the colours. The fact it's done at every match and seen on TV all across the world means we have attracted press attention and coverage across the world. It gets mentioned in commentary in every match. Today a plane is flying over OT with a banner reading 'Glazers out'. It might not seem like much but if that gets broadcast it's pretty significant. As a result of the protests we have the Red Knights formalizing a bid to takeover (whether they'll be succesful or not is another matter) and lots of major people in football and finance critising the Glazer's business model, which is bad press for them.

Not sure why you want to turn this turn this into a pissing contest Dags, I'm just saying a few bloody posters that will only be seen on a few football forums is a bit of a waste of time and seems more like a chance for these lads to show off their photoshop skills than do anything worthwhile.

i think it is more than photoshop skills contest...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Missing the point again. I said those 'propaganda' were pointless. Do you lot fucking read anything?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Maybe we should attack police to get our point across more...

 You're an idiot, you just can't handle a single word said against Liverpool. I wasn't even having a go! By the way, there were no arrests and no reports of police being attacked. Nice one.

0-0 with Hull Reserves. :WORSHIP:

Enjoy the Europa League. :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

 Sad to see our 3 year title march end but it still brings a smirk to the face when some of you thought "this was the year!"

Re: Liverpool Thread

About the green and yellow scarves, i don't think the Glazers would mind.
Yoèu know what would help? An empty stadium for a couple of matches...but that is probably asked too much...
I wonder how many of those greend and yellow scarves wearers are still buying official Man Utd merchandising products...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Does make your link the other day about the political dealings seem creditable.

It's pretty much saying the Chairman is a liar and any "senior sources" stories are bullsh!t. If they say anythign about Torres and Gerrard the chairman is shown to be lying.

What a mess that the manager actually has to comment on the chairman in the media.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's not so much Broughton he's talking about. He says the chairman (Broughton) doesn't want to sell, so don't listen to other "senior sources" ... has to be Purslow really.

Green and gold is about trying to raise awareness, its a way forward and its done the job the fans intended by raising awareness to the public and fans that didn't fully understand the trouble the club was in.

Its the cause of that we have got the Red Knights trying to buy the club.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Shouldn't Rafa resign anyway? He guaranteed fourth place and didn't deliver. That promise was made mid-season and so the owners/lack of money can't be blamed for it not happening.

Re: Liverpool Thread

it's a bit catch-22. I think he isn't going to take the team any further but at the same time I can't see many who will do better. Especially if the funding remains the same.

If a new buyer comes in I would go for another manager aswell, assuming the money will enable another top class one to come in. For all his qualities I think his time is up with regards to the players and that everything has gone stale.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Agreed Tik; with no money then might as well keep Rafa (especially now Juventus have closed that particular door).

With money then well that's a different story.

I would love to see Cappello at Anfield after the World Cup.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sven-Göran Eriksson would be cheap, I think.
Spalletti would've been interesting.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I don't think Sven knows the meaning of cheap.

I also don't think someone who was surpassed in his premiership efforts by Mark Hughes.

No ta.

Today's the big day tho eh, with Rafa meeting Broughton again....

Re: Liverpool Thread

Presuming Rafa stays, but gets no money, do you think that might just galvanise the team? Bit of siege mentality?
