Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Personally don't think that the Pool players will deliberately throw the game, but if they're down 2-0 they're not exactly going to kill themselves to fight back.

And if United fans were honest, they wouldn't blame them.

What'll really piss me (as a United fan) off is if Rafa fields a crap team. Which I think he will.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Also remember we're playing Atletico on Thursday and we'll play our strongest team then, it'd make sense if our strongest team didn't play against Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep, very true. I seriously can't see Chelsea not taking all 3 points. Am somewhat resigned to that. Chelsea have probably just about been the best of a bad bunch this season, and to be honest the (by far) most expensively assembled, highest wages team should be winning the league.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Think it will depend on the results on thursday and saturday.

Thursdays is obvious. Saturdays could be really interesting. If spurs(v bolton) and city v villa drop points (draws hopefully) that will mean they are only 3 points ahead with two games to play. With Spurs still to play City on the wednesday. That gives a slight possiblity, you would hope the pressure gets to them on the final day. Everyone bar villa are away, with villa playing blackburn which shouldnt be an easy match either.

But then again, they might make the final and even at full strenght it's unlikely it will be enough against chelsea....

Very annoying, as those results against Birmingham and fulham should have been wins. Would have been 4th 1 point ahead with a game more played.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's not so unrealistic that Everton could do it. We could easily lose to Chelsea and I wouldn't say Hull beating us is beyond possible either.

At least this season is nearly over, finally!

I agree this is certainly one season to forget (prem at least)but although possible i think its unlikely, and even if we did lose against chelsea and everything was against hull and we lost, then i would have to say they are no longer fit to wear the shirt, but then again you could argue that taking a dive against chelsea wouldnt be worthy of wearing the shirt. X2:CONFUSE:

Anyway forget that roll on thursday night.:BOP:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Of course that if they tell me that the results are going to go in a way in which with two wins Liverpool is going to play the Champions league next season, I would want to win.
But, as we all know, that aint gonna happen. Unfortunately there is no way we are going to be in the Champions next year, so YES, I prefer loosing against Chelsea insted of handing Manchester the league.

Jesus, that is sad...i'm probably old fashioned, but football should be played fair. I also think being a football fan should be about your own club and not a rival one.

I hope Liverpool as a club and it's fans do not have the same mentality. That would be a huge handicap. Stop looking at Man Utd, it's all about Liverpool and not about Man Utd.

If Man Utd win the title, all you have to do is congratulate them...after 38 matches a title is always well deserved. Maybe next year will be Liverpool's year.

I whole-heartedly agree.

As i said earlier, this is Evertonian territory wanting to lose just to hamper your rivals, it's not healthy.

Re: Liverpool Thread

You're one of the only Liverpool fans I've seen with that view UJS, so credit to you.

Apparently on RAWK they've been saying for weeks they want to throw the game.

Re: Liverpool Thread

They won't throw it but I don't think they can get anything, No Torres and a big match on the Thursday.

Re: Liverpool Thread

The questions is,can a Liverpool fan stand the Mancs fans,Gary Neville and Alex Ferguson all waving the "19th" flags at OT?

From the 6 or so pool fans posting here I think only 1 has said they want the game to be thrown. I think we have a pretty broad selection of fans on here so it's a reasonable demographic to use.

Utd had 37 ;) McCarthy innit.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i dont mind united win their 19 if we win our another cup in europe.. this will make the season look better than it was...

United as a club dont matter to me, what matters for me is LFC.. 5 time champion of Europe

Re: Liverpool Thread

Charlton's Jonjo Shelvey is currently in Merseyside and had a medical at Liverpool today ahead of an initial £1.7M transfer :((.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yep, already leaked that he was signing for us a couple of days ago :)

Good player then?

Re: Liverpool Thread

He is yeah, but he's only 18 and pretty inexperienced. I'm guessing he'll probably go straight out on loan. He's definitely not ready for the Premiership yet.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great news. Now lets fucking hope that Otamendi's reports are true and we buy him. He is pure quality. A partner Agger-Otamendi, can be awsome.

Liverpool also have reserves team ;) and i would not say he is unexperienced..

since 2008 he played 42 matches for Charlton 1st team, scoring 7 goals, he played 24 matches this season ofr Charlton first team at his age..i would tell he has the experience

what Otamendi reports?

would prefeur non latine america defenders in LFC myself.. not as Insua is bad but...we all remember Coloccini in Newcastle...

and Skrtel is also good remember..

Otamendi es very very good. He has been the best defender in Argentina for more than a year now.

Re: Liverpool Thread

yes but Argentina league is not EPL. in a team wich fights for top 4 spot, he might not be as good as in Velez..

I personaly would prefeur Sami style of CB for LFC or a guy from England, who already is used to play in EPL, with maybe not as much technical skill than height + headers..we already have technical player in Agger and the second mentioned in Carra, Skrtel, Ayala and Kyrgiakos..

I understand, but Otamendi is good in the air and has good headers and jumping. He isn t tall, though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Cannavaro and Cordoba are two off the top of my head. Baresi was only 5'9 or something I think.
