Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Cant remember a game where he scored and set up two. In his dreams maybe, on a Playstation.

Lets analyze it shall we

He scored 3 goals for Liverpool.

1 - Vs Chelsea at Anfield, Liverpool won 2-0, he didn't set up the other goal, Crouch headed down for Kuyt.

2 - Vs Newcastle at Anfield, Liverpool won 3-0, Gerrard and Torres set each other up for the other 2 goals.

3 - Vs Fulham at Craven Cottage, Liverpool won 2-0. This is the only time he got a goal and an assist, setting up Crouch for the second.

He was dropped in the next game (CL vs Chelsea) but did start the next league game, we drew 2-2 with Birmingham. Shite.

In short, the lad wasn't good enough for Liverpool. Sometimes he could be a really good player and could beat defenders for fun, but sometimes isn't enough, he was far too inconsistent and his head would drop too early.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sky don't half talk some shit. "Would Liverpool fans be right to worry if Torres and Gerrard both got injured?" "Yes, they're two big players."

Erm ... I think EVERY bloody team in the world would worry if their two best players got injured! :BRICK:

Really, how do these people get jobs as "pundits"?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Anyone see the Fiorentina fans welcoming Liverpool? A huge banner held by Fiorentina's fans said "Welcome Reds. Your story for us is a legend!".

Re: Liverpool Thread

yes theyve been under-rated by the media and fans alike.

Very neat, very fluid, plucky and they are up for it big time.

We looked from the start like we were playing for a draw.

Hate so say it but Insua is looking nervy, but hes not really getting any help down that left side!

last week fiorentina ultras made a "gemellaggio" with liverpool. a gemellaggio is pretty much the opposite of a rivalry. by offering a gemellagio, the fans offer their friendship to the club and its fans.. some sort of an eternal bound (never heard about a gemellaggio being broken in serie a's history).

it's one of the nicests rituals of italian ultras... and it must be said, fiorentina's ultras don't reflect the tipycal bad image and reputation italian ultras have abroad.... they're old fashion ultras (namely good ultras).

good luck for the second half guys :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

As I feared, we've been outplayed. Prandelli has set up his team perfectly to counter ours. Lucas and Aurelio have been terrible. And Skrtel and Carragher look hopeless at the moment.

Good time for one of those old comebacks of ours.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Outplayed is putting it nicely, we've been shredded apart a good number of times. They just look a far better team than us in every department tonight.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Completely deserved win for Fiorentina, and I'd much rather lost to them than Lyon. Really hope they can on to advance this group.

Shit day, let's look forward to Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Thread

We looked a bit better in the second half but didn't really create any clear chances, anything we did was a half-chance really. Credit to Fiorentina for some superb attacking football in the first half, and good defending throughout the whole game to just completely shut us out.

Goes to show that if you press us as soon as we get the ball, we're stuck.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Where was the worlds greatest player ever tonight? He was mentioned on the team sheet but I didn't see him on the pitch?

Same for Nando, he had one of his sulk games tonight.

You'll still breeze the group.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Exactly. I sometimes have to say some horrible lies on here like "Torres is the best player ever" just to make you guys feel good about yourselves, and this is the thanks I get?
I'm a little upset.
