Torres was like a hundred times better when he was in Atletico that Aguero now. Trust me, Im argentinian so I know him, it would be a horrible buy for you guys. He is not worth 52m € as Fergui wants to offer, he doesnt worth more than 20m €.Torres was 'overrated' when he was at Atletico and look how that turned out!
Interesting you say that, from what I've seen he's better than what Torres was at the same age. I actually think he's the best young player out their. I think he'll end up playing for you lot to be honest and probably become the BPITW.
No, he is never going to play for us. He s too overpriced and overrated and, as he is argentinian, he is always partying.Interesting you say that, from what I've seen he's better than what Torres was at the same age. I'm happy with Johnson, and I believe we will make one more big signing but no idea who that'll be.
I do think we could do with someone else in attacking midfield or a forward though. Far too many times we came up against teams parking the bus and we ran out of ideas on how to get through them. We probably need another Benayoun-esque player I guess.
I'm definately happy with the attacking threat of Johnson, Arbeloa is a very good defender but not so great attacking so Johnson's a good signing in that respect.
Not sure Benayoun is at the quality needed to unlock the tightest defences, he's a good player and all but personally he's not the best we can get to do that role.
I'm not massively up on world football to suggest who that player might be unfortunately but I'm sure you (Abhi) and a few others like Lo Zio would have players in mind that I'm referring to.
Edit: Maybe a player similar to Arshavin?
Alonso is pissing me off now with his indecisiveness. He should respect the fans a bit more instead of pissing about saying he'd have no problems staying but wouldn't mind going to Madrid.
Make your mind up and decide one way or another. Doing my head in now, he's not bigger than the club and it's almost like he's playing the club off now. If he keeps this up then fuck him off to Madrid and get someone who respects the club and the fans a bit more.
I dont think that Alonso case can be compared with Ronaldo. He didnt try to force his way out like Ronaldo did, and he never said any comments like "White suits me great" and never behaved like a baby, just what Ronaldo did against City. Now that you mention it, it does seem to strike a similarity to Ronaldo. I don't doubt that Alonso does want to play for Madrid, and when he's coming out about losing wages due to taxes and all that shite, it just makes me wonder why he doesn't just openly come out and say he wants to go.
I dunno, it seems pretty clear to me he doesn't want to be here if he can help it.
end of the day alonso has been a class player for us, and if he goes then fair enough
he has a job (end of the day that's all it is, you would want the best out of your situation in work wouldn't you?), and he is trying to make sure he does the best thing for him and his family so can't argue with that
you say he should respect the fans, i think he has been amazing for us, so we should respect him
not sure what personal problems he has in england or with liverpool, but all i know is he has given 100% for this club, been a good player and if he is looking to get more money or whatever i couldn't blame him for that
if he wants to move on, then fair enough but i wont hate him for it
Don't get me wrong, he's been a brilliant player for us and he seems like a nice guy as well. I respect him an awful lot for what he's done for the club, as I'm sure most fans do.
And you're right about it being a job and wanting the best for his family, sure. But he needs to decide what he wants and come out and say it rather than putting out cryptic answers to questions etc. I think Rafa is going to have a word this week and get him to decide one way or another and I think we need to know sooner rather than later.
If he does want to go to Madrid then fine, let him go. He's a quality player but if he doesn't want to play for us then I'd rather we didn't keep him and replaced him with a player who did want to play for Liverpool.
